I Have A Leak, Yes ...No

RUSTY:  If you think the title is weird, you should have been here for the conversations.

MICAH:  In early December workers started tearing up sidewalks and making a muddy mess as a crew began to install new water lines.

PERCY:  The pictures below are along our side yard in December 2015.  

MARCUS:  Yesterday morning, Jan let me outside, intending to start a late day with a shower and then feed us.  I started barking and a heavily accented voice called out that he was connecting the new water line.

MERCI:  Jan hid behind the door in her pajamas as he explained he was hooking up the new water line. She couldn't shower without water, so she threw on some clothes and went outside to scoop poop.

PERCY:  The "voice" returned.  She asked how long before the water would be turned back on?  About 20 minutes was the response.  An hour and a half later the worker was long gone and still no water.  Jan put on a coat and as she walked by the hole with the old meter, it was full of water.  Not a good sign.

CYNDI:  She found the workers up the street and around the corner.  She arrived as a truck pulled up and a man with the air of a boss asked if he could help.  He stood in the street speaking good but accented English.

Boss:  The glue is drying.  Wait 5 minutes.  You have a leak. 

Jan:  I have a leak, or the city has a leak?

Boss:  You have a leak.

Jan:  Are you sure I have a leak? 

Boss:  Yes.  It's been leaking for some time.

Jan:  I do have a leak?  You're sure?  Were you going to tell me?  I have to let my landlord know.

Boss:  *rapid Spanish with a tall worker*  Go with him.

BUDDY:  Jan followed the worker back here.  He lifted the lid over the new meter.  The hole was half full of water.

Jan:  Where's the leak?

Worker:  No leak.

Jan:  But the other guy said there is a leak. 

Worker.  No leak.  *points to new meter*  Our pipes are good.  See, no leak. 

Jan:  *has no idea what the meter is or isn't supposed to be doing*  Are you sure there is no leak?  He said there is a leak.

Worker:  *leads Jan to hole near pen where new line is connected; ground is damp*  See, no leak.

TAYLOR:  Jan walked back to stare at the water in the meter holes. Worker walked to front of house and called her.  Led her to outdoor faucet.  Water was pouring out the spigot.

Worker:  See, water is on.

Jan:  Yes, but where's the leak?

Worker:  No leak.

BUDDY:  Jan came in and emailed our landlord to tell him the new water line was hooked up but she was confused as to whether there was or wasn't a leak.  He emailed right back that he was confused too; did we or didn't we have a leak?   Jan donned a coat and walked back to where they were hooking up another line.

Jan:   Hi, you told me I have a leak.  The other worker told me I do not have a leak.  My landlord would like to know whether I do or don't have a leak.

BOSS:  No leak. You had a leak BEFORE, but you don't have one now.

RUSTY:  And now if you will excuse us, we have to go comfort Jan.  For some reason, she has a headache.

BUDDY:  We can't forget to wish Mo who runs the CB (Cat Blogosphere) a very Happy Birthday!  Thank you for all you do to try to help cat bloggers keep up with each other.

Good Night or Good Morning

MICAH:  I'm hiding out here in a laundry basket to get a little alone time before tomorrow ... er, before today.

BUDDY:  What's so special about tomorrow?

MICAH:  You mean today.  We're returning to Blogville and the Cat Blogosphere after nearly a month's absence.

RUSTY:  Yes, we're writing this today for tomorrow.  Or should I say since we're writing this very close to midnight that we're writing this tomorrow?

CYNDI: I thought we were planning to return Monday.  Is Monday today or tomorrow?

MERCI:  Tomorrow is nearly here, so what difference does it make?

BUDDY:  Whatever day it is, we're coming back from hibernation.  Wait, that's not right.  Hiatus.  We're back from hiatus. 

MARCUS:  Jan has had nearly a month to recuperate from Sam's illness and her injuries.  She hasn't done anything except lie around eating chocolate and watching TV. 

PERCY:  She has not!  She has been busy digging up the muddy mess you made around the dog pen panels, Marcus.  And worked toward getting the house cleaned despite the constant clumps of mud tracked inside. 

CYNDI:   And tried to convince you, Marcus, to walk with Merci and Buddy without starting a riot.

MERCI:  But she took my squeaky football and my soccer ball.  I have to have some fun.

BUDDY:  You'll get them back when the mud in the dog pen dies.

PERCY:  Mud doesn't die.  I think you mean when the mud dries.  

RUSTY:  Who cares whether it dies or dries?  The post is supposed to be about our return.

MICAH:  Stop arguing.  Smile and wave a paw.  We're back.

TAYLOR:  They forget I'm here and never let me get a word in edgewise, and now tomorrow is already today.  Good night.  Or should I say good morning?

Maw of Forty Paws

We hope the old adage is true - better late than never - because we're late getting this posted but due to circumstances beyond our control.

Things happened so quickly that we received the info to post at the last minute and this morning there were 12 photos.  We hated to pick and choose, so we threw them together into 2 graphics.  The individual portraits were done by Ann of Zoolatry and the subject of our meet & greet this week is Maw of Forty Paws and her wonderful, cats adore them because they're so comfy ham-micks.

Cyndi:  Ahem.  If cats adore them, how come Jan hasn't gotten us one?

Percy:  You know Jan.  She's cheap.  Um, I mean poor.

Cameron:  Yes, poor.  If she could she'd buy us each one.

Rusty:  And she'd put them where?

Micah:  Yes, I'm afraid if she bought us each one, we'd have to move into a bigger house and if she can't afford one ham-mick, who would pay for the extra rent?

Buddy:  Don't look at me!  I don't have any pocket money.  Or pockets.

Sam:  We don't have a couch so we can't poke for loose change.

Merci: Do you think Jan would mind if we go visiting in the neighborhood and poke in their furniture for lost change?

Three Woofers Win News

Hey, the 3 Woofers here, Merci, Sam & Buddy.  The Funny Farmer Felines posted their weekly interview yesterday (click here if you missed Tommie, Gracie & Mickey Mouser of Shelter Cats.) so we figure it's our turn today.

Before we go any further, perhaps we should mention that the blog title doesn't mean we won any news.  We just prefer concise, to the point titles.  Three Woofers and their Siblings Win BlogPaws Swag and Talk About Their New News Column just doesn't have the same pizzazz, does it?

We are so excited.  We won some of the Island Cats' swag from BlogPaws. That's really nice of Wally, Ernie, Zoey and the lady with the yellow hair to share with us Funny Farmers. Um, do you think Jan will want some of ... we don't actually know what it will be yet, but if Ernie has been eating it, we figure it's edible.Well, hopefully, it won't be edibles Jan likes.

And for those of you who missed the announcement Sunday, the Blogville Chronicle is back and they are looking for columnists. Do you have furry blogging news or a hankering to write it?   K9Katastrophe posted Thursday so please go welcome Ruthie back.

We're going to be doing a column - we're thinking of calling it Meet & Greet - so we can use your help. Helping Jan Clean

Hey, Rusty here

I've been having fun rolling in the dirt  and then leaving a trail of leaves behind me as I walked through the house afterward.  We've enjoyed a few rainy but warm winter days.  The weather is about to change, but I'll have fun memories to tide me over till spring. 

And you know what happens when we kitties eat grass? Yep, we hurl!  So I'm pretty proud of myself for single-handedly ... um, I mean single-pawedly keeping Jan busy cleaning up after me.  

Now that I've got Jan somewhat trained to clean up after me, I think I deserve a snooze.  Training a human is hard work!

But first, a little news.

The Furriends of the Cat Blogosphere auction blog is putting together an auction for Sallie, who recently was rushed to an emergency vet with severe complications from diabetes.  She is blind but home now.  Her mom Dawn needs some help with the high vet bills. 

The auction will begin next Monday, January 21st.  If you would have an item or two you'd like to donate to the auction, send a photo with a brief description and a suggested starting bid to Marg (be sure to convert this to the proper email format) margaretmsan AT gmail DOT com.

In Remembrance of Jan Struckhoff

Cat blogger Jan Struckhoff of Sabrina, Sam & Simon, a.k.a. known as the Rocky Mount Meezers left us suddenly in late November. Her family and friends are gathering today for a memorial service. We are sending prayers, purrs and pawtaps to comfort them.

Farewell, Jan.  A stranger could tell by all the Facebook comments and blog posts that you were loved by so many and you are greatly missed by all..


Kashim, Othello & Salome have written a lovely post.  They also set up a special memorial post on the Cat Blogosphere. Meezer Mom Jan and CB

We enjoyed the Rocky Mount Meezer blog which was written by Jan Struckhoff. She hasn't been posting much for a long while but last night the news came from Facebook that Jan died very suddenly Thursday, leaving behind a husband and three cats - .Sabrina, Sam and Simon.

There is no post on her blog and there likely won't be but she was a part of the blogging community and we'd like to honor her life with a post.  Her family and friends are remembered in prayer.

 Jan was upbeat and happy, but according to Facebook posts she was depressed and hid it very well.

We mention the last statement because the past couple of days there has been some controversy on the Cat Blogosphere. (We're not going to mention name or blog.  That's irrelevant to this post.)  It's not the first time and likely won't be the last, but usually it's because someone gets their feelings hurt, lashes out to hurt the feelings of others, can't be reasoned with, and won't apologize. .

With the news of Jan's death, our perspective on the controversy changed.  Is it possible that when the blogging controversies occur, the upset person is depressed, discouraged, scared of something happening in their own life, perhaps having a pity party because they feel overlooked or an outsider?  When Jan gets discouraged, she sometimes gets .... hmmm, how can we put this?  Ah, the "itchy" word - witchy. 

We hope the CB controversy will end on a positive note because Mog is doing her best to cope with learning a new job after being conscripted while ML is on hiatus.  And none of us intended to ignore or hurt anyone's feelings.

We wonder if the CB problems arise as a cry for "help" because the angry person is discouraged and needs a hug and some positive attention?  (We're asking, not making a statement.)  If so, which response to negative emotions gets the best results - to hold everything inside and pretend everything is fine or to lash out in anger?  Neither works. We lost two bloggers in one day - .possibly one to each extreme.  Both are loved.

If the one wants to return to the CB at some point, we'll welcome her back.  After all, we are here to support one another during good and bad times.  Forgiveness is part of support.

But Jan Struckhoff, we will miss you.

We are deeply saddened by the news today that Tamir of Florida Furkids (Friends Forever) blog has gone to the bridge.  We knew he was ill but thought he would have a lot more time.  We send prayers, purrs and pawhugs to Mom Sharon and his family.

We are very concerned about ML of the Cat Blogosphere.  This is the first day we can remember when she hasn't had at least a minimal post there.  We hope things are well with her and it's just she's very busy unpacking in her new home. 

Prayers for Mom ML

Baby Cat was scared Tuesday and bit Mom ML of the CB.  She has 8 puncture wounds in her hand / arm, all turning black from bruising.  She has had chills and fever and is on antibiotics.  She'll go back to the doctor on Monday. 

Meanwhile, she is not angry with Baby Cat, and we are not making light of the situation in our graphic. We just wanted to make her smile. (And we cleared it with Mom ML before posting.)  Feel free to use it on your blog, if you'd like. 

We hope she feels better and her wounds heal quickly.

Incognito Buddy, GV and WV

Hey, Buddy here, incognito again because I figure some of you are going to want to throw rotten tomatoes at me before I finish this post.  But one of us had to volunteer and I drew the shortest whisker from the mug.  I'm speaking for all of us, including the other 6 cowards ... um, furries on the Funny Farm, hence the use of "we."


Today, we have a warning to share with all Google / Blogger bloggers.

We all like to add cute gadgets to our blogs, but we have to be very careful of what we post, not merely for our own safety but because we are responsible for the safety of our visitors.

For several years now, we have been coming across a number of blogs that have a popunder when we click to leave a comment.  Always before our anti virus has kept whatever site the popunder is to from loading.  The popunder will load but with a message from our antivirus the site is blocked because it's potentially dangerous.  

A couple of days ago, we came across the same problem but with a new twist.  What loaded was a popunder that was literally and visibly counting down the seconds to installing a downloading program that would not be flagged by our (or your) av because it is a legitimate program (although we'd never heard of it before) -- a downloading program that enables an easy, fast download of videos or multiple programs.  So why was it about to download and why was it "necessary" to download it at all, especially on the sly?  We can only think of one reason.

If you are wondering what's the problem if the program is harmless, remember this is done without visitors knowing it.  And just because the program itself is supposedly safe, doesn't mean anything downloaded with it would be. We have a good av, but not everyone does. And things can happen.

We try to remember to watch the bottom of our monitor screen to see what's loading and to count the new windows because of past experience, so we brought up the window, saw the counter and closed the window in time.  But most visitors would not notice the extra open window, especially since there might be a delay in opening..

We always notified the blog owner and when a particular globe widget (often two separate globes) were deleted from the sidebar, the popunders stopped.  The same thing happened last night.  The blog owner deleted the 2 globes from the blog and the problem was resolved  Any time the blog owner has refused to delete the globes, we have deleted their blog from our bookmarks.  Online safety is that important! 

Over the course of several years,  the comment popunders we've run into have all been associated with the same widget -  a spinning globe counter from Geovisite.  We hope this post will serve as a warning to those who are considering installing it or those who already have it posted on their site.  And also to remind you to be alert to what is happening as you surf the web. 


On another blog subject, as much as we'd like to do a tirade on the evil's of the Blogger word verification and why it is totally unnecessary to use it and chases off many visitors who would like to comment, we won't   But when Blogger made the mass switch to the new interface, word verification was turned on by default.  So we will admonish you to go to your own blog while NOT signed in to Google / Blogger and click on comments to check your own blog. You keep annoying your visitors and they will stop returning.

Go ahead, try to tell us you don't care your visitors are facing this kind of crap because you don't want to check out your spam options without it when they want to tell you they're sorry your Fluffercat or Roverdog died.  They not only have to love you, they have to have x-ray vision.

We just took the following off a blog comment form.  We didn't make them up.

Okay, so we did a tirade anyway.  Sorry about that.  No, actually we're not. We're most annoyed with those who use full page comments because wv doesn't show up until after one has written a note of condolence or get well  or .... and clicked "publish comment."  And then we find we have just wasted our time.  

Oh, and Brandi reminded us of what we forgot to include.  We've checked this link several times already and our av sent a reminded this morning because if your computer is infected with the DNS Changer, your internet will be shut down on Monday..  You can find the link for various countries where you can check your computer, if you haven't already.   http://www.dcwg.org/detect/  Once you read the material, it only takes one click and a second to find out.

Condolences to ML

Our heartfelt condolences to ML of the Cat Blogosphere and The Giggleman Gang's blog over the loss of her only living relative, Aunt Dorothy. 

ML was looking forward to living near her aunt and spending more time with her.  But when ML drove up to check on her last Tuesday, after a fall that left her aunt with fractures in her arms, her aunt had a stroke and no longer recognized her. 

ML, our hearts are breaking for the pain you are going through.  We know this is an especially hard time and we're glad your good friend Deb is able to be there with you. Take some time to heal and don't worry about returning to the CB and blogging until you're able.  Your friends will be here waiting for you.

Hedda Hopper of Cat Blogging

Our Funny Farmer Felines' interview with Nicki & Derry of Fuzzy Tales is now published.   Stop by and learn more about these two handsome mancats. 

We feel like the Hedda Hopper of the cat blogging sector.  For those of you who don't recognize the name Hedda Hopper, she was a famous Hollywood gossip columnist.  Of course, we never gossip; we just get the news.  And no humans are allowed to read Mousebreath, so any secrets revealed remain with the furries.


ML 's Aunt Dorothy  had a stroke Tuesday night and is in guarded condition.  ML traveled there Tuesday to check on her aunt who had fallen and possibly broken her arm.  Even though her aunt is confused and doesn't recognize her yet (see CB comments), we imagine ML is very glad she arrived in time to be there for her aunt.   ML, you and your Aunt Dorothy are in our thoughts and prayers.

The other day the famous khanine Khyra asked on her blog if there would be khake for Jan on Tuesday.  Well, there were going to be little tuna and nip cakes for her but we couldn't find a can of tuna.  Seriously, there wasn't a single can of tuna in the house.  So we took a nap instead. Serves Jan right.  We would have made her a cake without any carrots in it.  Sure Jan loves, loves, loves carrot cake, but no self-respecting cat would eat it.  The woofies, however, are a different story.  They'll eat anything.  Even carrots.

So Wednesday night at a pot luck before Bible study, Jan had a cake.  Jan says we should thank Karen for her.  (Seriously, do we look like Jan's secretary?  She's supposed to be waiting on us.)  But, thank you, Karen.  Jan really appreciated it.

But next time we hope you will make it from tuna and catnip instead of carrots and fruit so we can have some too.  Yum, tuna and nip cake.  Anyone know a good bakery nearby where we can pick one up and bill Jan?  Typing this has made us hungry.

Jan said she hasn't had a birthday cake since she was 21.  Let's see.  She's 106.  Subtract 21.  That equals ... wow, at least two centuries!  No wonder there are no lighted candles on the cake!  The building could have burned down.

KC 6, Jan 106, RIP Mondo

We got this lovely card from Zoolatry today.  Well, we didn't, Jan did, but anything she has automatically belongs to us too, so we did get this lovely card too.   The Florida Furkids said they hope we're doing something special for Jan today.  We are.  We're letting her go to the shelter to take pictures of other dogs and cats.  Since she won't be available to wait on us (as if!) we figure such a sacrifice on our part qualifies as a gift. 

And this lovely card from Gracie. She calls Jan her technical support. Little does she know Jan knows less than we do about Blogger. 

And we were very surprised to find a couple of graphics on the Cat Blogosphere today.

 Ann of Zoolatry has turned our header into a birthday card and she's added a heart to Cotton's picture.

KC and Mom ML added a background and hearts to turn our graphic into "Remembering Cotton."  How sweet. 

Thank you, Ann and ML - and any of you who left a comment or posted on your blog or on FB. Jan will be around to thank you in a day or two since shelter picture day is long and super tiring.  Your thoughtfulness is appreciated, even if you did make Jan teary.  (How is she going to see to feed us if she's springing leaks?)

KC turns 6 today so be sure to stop by the Giggleman Gang's blog to help her celebrate.  Mom ML is leaving or has already left on an emergency trip to see her Aunt Dorothy who fell and broke her arm, so please keep her in your prayers for a safe journey. 

There is a note of sadness today.   Mondo of River the Beagle's blog suddenly became so ill he had to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday..  We send hugs, purrs and pawhugs to Steph and Mondo's family.

Jan was trying to sneak through today without any fuss, so we got caught without even a card for her.  But we do wish her a Happy Birthday, especially if there is food involved.  Maybe we can fix her a tuna and nip cake or two while she's at the shelter.  But it's past our breakfast time and we dogs still haven't walked her yet, so we'll wish you all a good day.

Buddy has a Sad

We haven't been posting often for a while.  Life just gets in the way of blogging sometimes. We did have a happy post planned for today, but we'd like to acknowledge the most recent blogosphere losses we're aware of.  What would we do without the Cat Blogosphere to post the news for us?  We aren't aware of anything similar for dogs, so it's harder to keep up with the woofie news.

Well, do the fun post separately later today.  Meanwhile, we'll let Buddy post the sad news for all of us.

Buddy:  I am very depressed today.  If you remember, I recently declared a moratorium - no blogging pets or humans are allowed to leave for the bridge for two (2) decades.  But they're not paying attention to me and they're still leaving.  If my head gets any lower to the ground, my ears will get dirty and  Jan will want to scrub them, so Cotton says I've got to keep my chin up.  I decided to just crawl into Merci's basket bed to keep my ears clean while I mourn.

Yesterday we lost Sparky Fuzzypants of DaisyMae Maus and the Feline Americans. Sparky, you handsome dude, we understand you were ready to go, but your family wasn't prepared to say good-bye.  (They never are.)

Blackie of Whippy Curly Tails left on Tuesday.  We tried to leave a comment but we just can not do word verification on blogs any more!  Not even for sad news.  We went back today and there is now one picture and a one word hieroglyphic to decipher. We don't have an email address for them, so we'll just hope they come across this post so they know we do care about their loss.

Jenny and Squillion Day

I don't believe I know any of you.  I'm Jenny, one of the founding Funny Farmers. I passed away in 2007 at age 17.  I never got to meet Rusty or Sam, but I hear they fit right in and help keep Jan unsteady on her feet and searching for her reading glasses.  They even helped hide Jan's slippers for an entire month and had her convinced she was losing more than a pair of slippers, if you catch my drift.

Well, as you can see, I'm not really Jenny.  I'm a Missy You VSquillion Jan and my siblings adopted in my memory a couple of years ago.  It's nice to know I'm still remembered.

I'm here to celebrate Squillion Day with Derby and Ducky. and also the Cat Bllogosphere, which as far as we know is still in exile (on Blogger) since the CB Wordpress blog was hacked Saturday.  Now Derby & Ducky and KC have real squillions but we are virtual ones JFF adopted from the VSquillion Shelter.

Many of you knew my handsome brother Crystal.  Next is our sister Grayce.  We were together for 13 years, even moved cross country together, but Cotton is the only surviving furry of JFF who was privileged to meet her.. There I am to the left of Viola.  Viola was the first virtual Funny Farmer.  They adopted her from the VShelter because even a virtual squillion needs a home. 

It was nice to meet all of you.  Thank you for coming by and helping us celebrate today.  Perhaps the next time the VShelter holds an adoption, you'll consider giving a VSquillion a home.  A literal one is always nice to have but we don't know how to adopt one of them.

Jan finished the graphics for Furriends of the CB auction for Jimmy of Criz Cats Sanctuary.  Marg expects to open the auction sometime today., Tuesday  Stop by and check it out.  New items will be added periodically.

Criz lost Jeremy and Jerry to the same thing Jimmy is being treated for.- FLUTD (feline lower urinary tract disease).    Mama Jessica survived it.  Jimmy has spent the last few days at the vet's and Criz hopes to have him home soon. 

Criz lives in Malaysia and helps feral cats whenever he can, plus takes care of his own furry J Family..  


We received this email yesterday and even though we weren't interested, it raised some red flags so we did a search and found a lot of bloggers are receiving this message and the consensus of opinion is it appears to be a scam. The email address is from purebloggerss, with a double ss on the end. If you receive this message and are tempted to respond, research it well before visiting. We don't want to send anyone to their site by posting the link, thus we divided up their url.

Funny Words, Purrs and Bum Knee

Hey, Cotton here.  Jan chopped off the top of my head in this photo but it's me.  It's been rather tense around here the past couple of weeks, so I decided it's time to have some fun.  I looked up some recent keywords used to find our blog.  

janschihwawas - We have no clue what Jan did with her chihwawas.  We weren't even aware she'd ever had any. 

sam s farm - No, this is not Sam's  farm. We're the funny farmers and we all own this virtual farm.

modkat siberian  - We didn't realize a litter box can have a nationality.

modkat peeing on lid  -  We have a modkat but there has been no peeing on lid allowed or attempted.

blinking photos of dog - What about blinking photos of cats?

logos that don't translate well  - This would be an interesting topic, but perhaps we better move on.

pets love twix - Well, we'd love Twix too but it's a chocolate candy bar and we aren't allowed to have chocolate.

funny farm cards by Hallmark - And we're not getting royalties?

goat breakaway collar  - We have posted on goats, but they climbed trees sans collars. .

Rusty is awesome- This was a popular one and Rusty's head is about 2 sizes larger now.

Clydesdale donkey  - A new breed of Clydesdale?  We have a little trouble imagining donkeys replacing the awesome Budweiser Clydesdales. 

melted kettle on stove  - Did someone else melt a kettle on the stove or has word spread about Jan's?.

missing bear poster examples - Seriously, how man times have we posted on a missing bear?  We keep ours in the closet so he'll never come up missing.

bell shaped rabies tag silencer - We remember a post about bell-shaped rabies tags, but with a silencer?  We just mentioned they didn't hold up for the 3 year life of the rabies vaccinations.  We never threatened to shoot anyone over it, with or without a silencer. 

funny sombrero - Only kind Jan wears.  She doesn't allow sad or angry sombreros in the house. 

We are thinking of Poppy Vic and Ann of Zoolatry today and tomorrow, as he undergoes a procedure called TACE to treat his cancer.

"Studies show TACE has better results, less side effects, and is easier on the patient, and safer in general.  RFA uses radioactive substances which have on occasion "spilled over" into surrounding areas (not good) ... and after RFA no hugs or close contact with anyone for several days as you're radioactive!

It is "trans aerterial chemo embolization"; they go in through arteries in the groin area; guided imagery; and inject a variety of drugs (including chemotherapeutic drugs) directly into the core of the tumors in the liver, and some of this "cocktail" of drugs is also targeted to surrounding tissue.  The cocktail serves to cut off the blood supply to the live cancer cells, in effect killing them, preventing their continued growth and spread.

He has five active tumors in the liver to be treated.  The tumors present in the lung will still require standard chemotherapy; but that will be postponed until sometime after this procedure." 

We are keeping them in our thoughts and prayers and we know you are too.

Surprise for Jan and CB Auction

 Hey, Percy here with some good news.

We Funny Farmers held a meeting and decided we all feel a twinge of guilt because we couldn't afford to get Jan a present for Christmas, and although we tried - we really tried to be good for just that one day, we didn't quite manage to.

We wanted to do something nice for her but we were stumped until my nimble paws found the perfect belated gift for Jan. She's always complaining Sam and Buddy "killed" her mattress and it's so uncomfortable for her to sleep on it any more. We find it very comfortable, but if it's a problem for her, we decided we'll see what we can do to make her happy.

While I was window shopping on the internet yesterday, I found some neat beds.

Merci and Cameron thought a nice round one would do but Cotton pointed out that we'd have to buy at least 3 or 4 for Jan since she's much taller than any of us, except Sam when he stands on his hind legs, and her bones creak when she tries to curl up in a ball like we often do when we sleep. Well, actually, it's more like they creak when she tries to uncurl from a ball.

Cyndi and Rusty suggested we get her a long mattress and bed in one. The longest is only 5' long, though. Her feet would hang over. We considered buying one long and one small but we're not sure how we're going to pay for one, so two is definitely out of the question. She could always wear a couple extra pairs of socks in the winter.

Getting Jan a new mattress bed would be the perfect solution for all of us. Jan could sleep on her new bed in the living room in front of the gas space heater and Sam, Buddy, me and whatever furries wanted to could squeeze onto her old bed.

Jan is going to be so excited when the new pet bed .... um, the new mattress bed arrives. We can order it just as soon as we figure out how to pay for it. Wonder if Jan has any money in her wallet yet? Excuse us, we need to go check.

Haunted Treasure and Auction

Hey, Rusty here. I wanted to use this photo today because it reminds me there used to be sunshine. When I've run outside this week, the sun is hiding and my feet get muddy. I don't mind the mud so much because I can wipe my paws off on Jan's t-shirt when she carries me back inside. But where's the warm sun?

Oh, guess I better get to our post for the day.

We stopped by Roo's and found the Director/Producer has a new video and upcoming project.

A Haunted Treasure Hunt is now showing at Pet Fiction Theater.  There's a video with the post.  Wonder how they did the visual lighting effects?

The cool, wet weather this week has totally done Jan in so we're being as quiet as possible - except for Buddy occasionally leading the howling choir.   She thinks we should be doing the cooking and cleaning but we draw the line at hard labor.  We're already worn out with elderly sitting ... nursing duties.
