Southern Dialect Goose

Marcus:  Honk, honk, honk -

Cyndi:  What's the matter, Marcus?  Do you have a cold?

Marcus:  No.  I'm practicing my honks.

Cyndi:  Oh, you're on the driving kick again and you're pretending to be a car horn?

Marcus:  Of course not.  All of you made fun of me when I insisted I can speak fluent goose.  (Late for a Recital ) You insisted geese honk and don't have a second language, so I'm practicing my honking to see if they understand me any better.  I doubt it, but I'm willing to try since we're going to have more geese than this arriving soon for the cold weather.

Cyndi:  You do know today is Flashback Friday and you honking does not constitute a flashback?

Marcus:  It's a flashback for me.  I'm remembering all those great conversations I've had with geese.

Cyndi:  And I'm remembering all the delusions you're posted about speaking geese ... er, goose.  You know, bird!    (Swiss Cheese TheoryMarcus Two StepMister I Speak GeeseA Honkless HolidayTranslating Goose to DogGiggle of Goose GaggleMarcus Speaks Geese.)

Marcus:  Hey, thanks for gathering our conversations together so I can go back and review them.  It will make it easier to compare results over time.  I'll be very surprised if they can understand me when I honk, but if I work on my accent, it should work.

Cyndi:  Of course, that's it!  You have to honk in the same dialect as the arriving geese and most of them don't speak with a Southern accent.

Marcus:  I'm glad you understand.  The rest of the Funny Farmers think I'm off my trolley.

Cyndi:  You speak geese with a Southern drawl.  What's not to understand?  **cough, cough**

Marcus:  Are you okay?  You haven't caught the cold I don't have, have you?

Cyndi:  No, no, I'm fine, just have a goose feather tickling my funny bone.

Trusty Old Blue Ball

Micah:  You look pretty intense there, Marcus.  Is the ball threatening you?

Marcus:  No, it wouldn't dare threaten me.  Can't take my eyes off it for a second, though.

Micah:  Why, would it run away if you do?

Marcus:  I was waiting for Jan to try to kick it. She's sneaky, but I'm faster than she is sneaky.

Micah:  Oh, so you were playing soccer?

Marcus:  No.  She picked it up and threw it so we played chase.

Micah:  You don't play catch?

Marcus:  Rarely.  Jan usually throws it past me so it's hard to catch.  But I am good at catching if she bounces it.

Micah:  I'm all for anything that exercises you and tires you out so you leave the rest of us alone for a few minutes.

Marcus:  Jan might have returned my red ball to Amazon (Sending Red Ball on Vacation) but I still have my trusty old blue ball with the tooth holes in it.  Oh, and by the way, the rope toy Jan accidentally threw into the tree a few months ago finally fell down into the pen.  So if this ball should happen to fall apart for no reason, I'll still have something to chase.

Micah:  So your new blue ball is now your trusty old blue ball.  Interesting.  But you do know, I hope, if this ball should happen to fall apart, it will certainly NOT be for no reason!

Marcus:  You're right.  If this ball falls apart, it will be Jan's fault.  She's awfully hard on my toys!

Percy:  Our interview this week is with Sophie, Dexter and Olive.  You can read Three Chatty Cats Chat on Mousebreath.

The Interviews Return

Cyndi:  Why are we reposting this old photo of me taking a bath in the bureau and you doing your I'm-innocent-innocent-I-tell-you dance.

Marcus:  Well, I was innocent.  Jan pulled out the drawer herself in the middle of the night when she caught the drawer handle with something.

Cyndi:  True.  One of those rare times you actually were innocent.  But why are we posting the picture?

Marcus:  We are trying to get back to blogging on Tuesday and Friday.  Today is Friday and we don't have a single idea of what to post.

Cyndi:  How about the good news we announced on Tuesday?

Marcus:  We had good news on Tuesday?

Cyndi:  Yes.  Weren't you paying attention?

Marcus:  Probably not.  You cats can ramble on forever sometimes.

Cyndi:  Percy, can you remind us of the good news and make it short and sweet?

Percy:  I sure can.  We are finally able to resume interviews, starting with the Cat's Eye Boyz.  You can read The Cat's Eye Boyz Tell All .on Mousebreath.

We are joining the Pet Parade blog hop with hosts, Rascal and Rocco, Bionic Basil, and Barking from the Bayou.

Andy and Dougy

Rusty:  No, you're not imagining it.  Neither of those cats are one of us.

Cyndi:  They're Andy and Dougy from Weggieboy's Blog,

Micah:  Can you tell them apart?  We can't.

Taylor:  I can.  We wrote their names on the picture.

Percy:  Smoke Persians Andy and Dougy has published on Mousebreath.

Note:  We forgot about the interview when we posted Serious Thinking.

We are beyond sad, because after having fun with product reviews (at least we had fun and we tried to make them fun for you too) and being able to try a variety of new things because of them, as of May 1st, we will no longer be doing Chewy reviews - or any other reviews!

We want to make it perfectly clear that this decision has nothing to do with Chewy (or any other company we have had contact with).  Sydney and Natalie have been super nice and we will miss them.

When we do reviews, we have to report the product as income even though we do not receive financial compensation.  We try to be honest and do what is right.  2016 was a good review year for us.  Trying to report it has been a nightmare!  It took a week through a maze of confusion for Federal.  The new Georgia state 5-page plus a 6th to report just one - ONE! - item nearly gave Jan a stroke.  (And before anyone asks why not use the state EZ form, she can't because of her age.)  Never, never, never, never, NEVER again!!!!

Reviews were something we all enjoyed. Jan is very discouraged!  (This is the short version for those of you who asked.)   Have a good Easter weekend.

Jaunty Jaguar

PERCY:  Well, this has been the week from Gmail / Thunderbird hell.  We had no idea a storm was brewing and we have not enjoyed one moment of it!

MICAH:  Last Friday we got notices for our Gmail accounts that Thunderbird (an email program on our PC) has not been compatible with their new accounts for a year so we should use Gmail webmail now.  In fact, Gmail blocked us from downloading email.  We got that taken care of and tried to download  and ...

RUSTY:  And it locked up our computer.  Over and over and over again.  Jan updated to v38 that is supposed to work with Gmail but nothing we have tried as of today has worked.  Jan has been at the "don't speak to me or I'll scream" point for days.  We've been set up with POP3 for many years and after 6 days of searching, we still don't know if Gmail still allows POP3.  It isn't working and it isn't mentioned, but that doesn't mean it isn't still available, only that gmail wants to force us to abandon it for IMAP.

CYNDI: Jan wants to keep her own filing system, not "co-ordinate" with gmail.  She believes she is quite capable to hit the delete key on her own to clean out webmail.  She is old and the brain of an old person doesn't comprehend half of what she reads so she has been having a meltdown. She did find a forum for each to leave a question, but doubts Google or Thunderbird will respond.  Would anyone like all of us furries to come visit until this blows over and Jan is fit to live with again?

RUSTY:  Perhaps we should change the subject.  I hear Jan coming.  We can talk about the weather.  Hasn't the weather been nice .... no, that's not the word.  HUMID!

MICAH:  Hasn't the weather been hot and humid and stormy lately? Even Buddy, the "oh, come on, let's turn around and do another lap" wilted on the 9 am walk and begged to come home.

CYNDI:  I guess we should get to the interview.  We have a lovely feline interview subject today.  Jaguar doesn't have a blog but she is an active Cat Scout

PERCY:  Jaunty Jaguar Joined the Cat Scouts is available exclusively at Mousebreath, the ezine for cats.  It's fun reading so don't miss it.

OliverHughes and Tanner

RUSTY: We hope we aren't late.  We were just putting our boat away.  We had a couple of downpours this week and figured a boat might come in handy.

PERCY:  Ignore Rusty.  He's been afraid his fur would get wet and he'd drown from the weight.

RUSTY:  Well, I'm a big cat and I do have a LOT of fur!  It tangles and is heavy when wet.

CYNDI:  So stay dry.  You two do remember we are supposed to be posting on our Mousebreath interview for the week?

MICAH:  Yes, to return to the ... wait, we can't return; we didn't start yet, did we?  Never mind!  This week we spent some time with Cat Scout OliverHughes and his brother Tanner from the Four Crazy Cats blog.

CYNDI:  So why are we only interviewing two cats from the four crazy cats blog?   You will have to read the interview.

PERCY:  You will enjoy getting to know the two cats as you read their story, OliverHughes Salutes and Tanner Blogs.  Both cats blog and Tanner is a good brother who helps OliverHughes with his Scout projects.

Amarula, Biltong and Zula

RUSTY:  We're glad the weekend is here.  It's been a long, boring lifetime ... um, week locked up in a hot house with an irritable Jan.

MICAH:  Talk about unable to please!  Don't run.  Don't walk.  Don't stand on your head.  Don't make any noise.  Don't bump the chair.  Don't breathe so loud I can hear you. We couldn't do anything right.

CYNDI:  Does anyone know if we can trade Jan in for a younger model human with no aches and pains?  We don't have a contract, so it's permissible to dump her, right?  Do we have a volunteer?

PERCY:  Despite our about to be voted out human, we did manage to put together an interview with an interesting fur family that moved from South Africa to Canada.  They write the Hairballs and Hissy Fits blog.  As you can tell by the title we gave their story, Amarula Kids Biltong and Zulu. Amarula has a sense of humor.

Their interview can be accessed from the Home page of Mousebreath.  http://mousebreath.com

15 Meows and A Hop

PERCY:  I know you won't believe this but we are actually back with another Mousebreath interview today.  15 and Meowing is a large cat family and we had a lot of fun interviewing them.  So many personalities and so many stories.  It was hard to choose what to print.

CYNDI:  We have always put the cats into one graphic but we thought it would be easier to introduce them if we do more than one picture.  Phoebe is the friendly one waving at you.

RUSTY:  Obviously, Joanie is a tortie at heart.  Notice the tongue attitude.  :)

Lou and Chevy and Da Tabbies

CYNDI:  By the skin of our teeth, but we have another interview to share.  We wish Cameron could be with us for it.  He loved doing interviews.

RUSTY:  Lou and Chevy from Live Love Meow shared their stories. We didn't know them very well so it was nice to get to get to know them better.

PERCY:  You can read Lou and Chevy, Gifts of the Universe exclusively at Mousebreath, the ezine for cats.

MICAH:  Oh, yesterday those wonderful trout-loving kitties from Da Tabbies O Trout Towne did a fun post on how YOU (kitties with a blog or a social media persona) can be interviewed on Mousebreath.  You don't want to miss this.  And thanks for sharing the message for us, guys.  You're the greatest.

Scoop on Parade

MICAH:  It's Funny Farmer Felines Friday and we do have another exciting cat interview for you today.

CYNDI:  Yes, we are very fortunate that the guys from The Adventures of Buckaroo & Banzai blog ... um, what were there names again ... oh, yes, Buckaroo and Banzai -

CAMERON:  What Cyndi is trying to say is that we are very fortunate Buckaroo and Banzai were able to spare some time from their very busy schedule at the Banzai Institute to answer some questions.

RUSTY:  It's not every day we get to talk to some famous kitties.  Their human is the Den Master of the Cat Scouts so we have the scoop on ...   No, we won't spoil the interview but we aren't scooping cat litter.  That's Jan's job.

PERCY:  You can read Buckaroo and Banzai Tout the Scouts at Mousebreath, the ezine for cats written by cats.

Ms. Stella Speaks

RUSTY:  For various reasons, we haven't been able to do many cat interviews for a while, but we have one today.  So we are back - temporarily, at least.

MICAH:  Yes, we Funny Farmer Felines have interviewed the kitties from Ms. Stella O'Houligan's blog.  If you know her, you're aware she's fun and feisty.

CAMERON:  We just popped by her blog tonight (Thursday) and found Ms. Stella and her siblings have been on nursing duty. We hope their humans are getting well and have not been as big a nuisance to the nursing staff as Jan has been since her failed flight attempt.

CYNDI:  We also hope if one of them has a knee injury, Marcus doesn't visit.  Jan finally got out to walk the other day.  Marcus was directly in front of Jan when he suddenly decided to u-turn and head home.  He and Jan were then moving forward at a fast clip in opposite directions, so he rammed his bulldog head into Jan's painful knee.  We think she should wear full body padding.

PERCY:  Stop by the ezine for cats, Mousebreath, to read their story, Ms. Stella, Miss Scraps, Miss Jack and Mr. Oliver.

Yesterday Today Tomorrow

CAMERON:  Good morning.  We are celebrating another Funny Farmer Felines Friday.  Or we will when our teeth stop chattering.

RUSTY:  Brrr, it's cold.  We've been doing a lot of napping and nomming to stay warm.  The dogs didn't even want to walk yesterday.  No, that was Jan.  The dogs just agreed with her.

MICAH:  We interviewed the cats from the Timmy Tomcat blog.  They're quite a nice family, so we hope if you don't already know them, you'll stop by to meet them.

PERCY: You can read their story, Timmy, Tomcats and Miss Fritz, at Mousebreath, the ezine written by cats for cats.

CYNDI: We told you the other day the monitor had stopped flashing us.  That was the truth.  Until last night.  Or actually tonight since we're writing this now to auto post early tomorrow morning.

BUDDY:  If you are reading this tonight, you have a problem because it hasn't published yet.  So please be patient until Friday morning.

SAM:  Unless Blogger decided to make it three days in a row our scheduled post didn't publish on schedule.  In that case, you aren't reading this Friday morning either.

MERCI: At least not early Friday morning.  We're planning a sleep-in till at least ... whenever.  This cold makes a body tired.  *stretch, yawn*  Night.

MARCUS:  All this posting talk has given me a headache.  It's after midnight now, so are we yesterday, today or tomorrow?

Houseful of Cats

Cyndi:  Have we ever got a cathouse interview for you today.

Rusty:  Not a cathouse interview, Cyndi, a houseful of cats interview.  We interviewed a houseful of cats.

Micah:  You're going to love them.  They're the kitties from Kitty Cat Chronicles.

Cameron:  We neglected to ask what a Meatloafing Badge is but we did learn lots of other interesting facts about the cats.

Marcus:  He's a cat after our own hearts.  Walking in our footsteps even if he is a cat.  We'll have to make him an honorary dog.

Percy:  You can read their story, Kit Cats Delilah, Sampson, Sophie, Sassy and Caster, exclusively at Mousebreath, the ezine for cats written by cats.

Sam:  We have to go now.  We're working on our letter to Santa Paws so it will reach him in time for this Christmas.

Merci:  Yes, we definitely need to get to work on that.  At the rate we've been moving this year, we won't get all our paw print signatures on it before Easter.

Buddy:  Well, we better finish it ASAP!  It's only in first draft.  We've got elebenty-seven drafts to go.  And Percy wants to start typing it for posting next Monday.

Buddy Is 10

Buddy  In case you haven't noticed, we have been missing for several days.  First our DSL modem died, then our ISP wreaked havoc on our computer and the next day while online, our computer locked, crashed and ... it broke the mouse  - or mouse driver!  We had 3 working mice (is the plural of mouse still mice for computers) and suddenly not a one would do more than right click.

Marcus:  Suffice it to say, there have been a lot of tears, some HBO thoughts, if not words, and nightmares.

Sam:  We are finally back and trying to throw a post together for tomorrow (Saturday).

Merci:  We missed Buddy's 10th birthday on Thursday, so first we want to congratulate him.

Cameron:  We know you didn't get your daily walk or a celebration Thursday, but you did get to see Mr. Doug two days in a row, so we hope that made your day a little special, Buddy.  (Mr. Doug rescued Buddy.)

Cyndi:  Friday was supposed to be our first Mousebreath post in over a month and we missed it.

Micah:  Thankfully, we were able to post and schedule it earlier this week and it published without us.

Rusty:  We interviewed Max from The Psychokitty Speaks Out and his "brother" Buddah.  They are very interesting characters.

Percy:  You'll enjoy this dueling duo who actually get along better than they claim in public.  Stop by Mousebreath to read their story, Psychokitty Max and Buddah Pest.

Buddy:  Oh, and we also missed the Pet Parade yesterday, but it isn't too late to join the fun, so if you haven't already, go ahead and sign up and check out some new blogs.

Cyndi:  We're sorry but we won't be able to do our regular weekend art.

Five Cats Views

Rusty:  Hey, guys, I was wondering.  Do you think we should rename our blog?

Percy:  Rename it?  Why

Rusty:  Oh, I don't know.  I kind of like the title of the one we're going to tell everyone about today.

Micah:  You mean Two Cats Views with Hemingway and Shakespeare?

Rusty:  Yes, but since we never quite see eye to eye, we could call ours Five Cats Views.

Cyndi:  But what about the dogs?  They would be really upset if we named the blog after ourselves.

Cameron:  You're right, Cyndi.  We'd have to call it Two Cats and Three and a Half Dogs Views.

Cyndi:  That sounds more like discombobulation than the name of a blog.

Cameron:  What is discombobulation?

Micah:  I think it's confusion.  Like when the cats disagree with the dogs. We all live on the Funny Farm, so the name should remain.

Rusty:  By the way, how did you come up with three and a half dogs, Cameron?

Cameron:  Marcus is only temporary, so he should only be allowed half a view.

Percy:  One day I will learn to just introduce the latest interview while the others are sleeping.  Stop by the cat ezine Mousebreath to read Writers Hemingway and Shakespeare Blog. They are a couple of fun mancats.

Micah:  We made it .  Just barely and we can hardly keep our eyes open as we type this Thursday night.

Cyndi:  But we have a last minute interview with the cats from Through Squirrel Eyes-  Cindi Lou, Adam, Spooky, Big Boy, Vincent, Marky, Bandit, Georgia and Gloria.

Mousebreath Texans

Rusty:  This has been a busy week and it isn't over yet!  Watching Jan stress out has made us realize how much we need a vacation ... from her.

Micah:  Yes, things are much calmer around here when she's not home, but she turns the computer off when she's not here.  Something about not trusting us.  Excuse me, do we look untrustworthy?

Cyndi:  Jan has been working hard to figure out some things on this computer.  Tonight (Thursday) she spent hours learning this new DVD set-up to save our work before she makes some changes.

Cameron:  We fell asleep, it was so boring.  At least we finally have a few minutes to do a quick post.

Percy:  We hope you will pop over to read our latest Mousebreath ezine interview.  This week we tell the story, Texas Trio ... Travis, Crockett and Maurice

It's also time for the Pet Parade with your hosts Rascal and Rocco and your co-hosts Bionic Basil, Barking from the Bayou, Love is being owned by a husky, and yours truly (Jan's Funny Farm).

Fractured Musings

Micah:  We are pleased to return with another award winning Friday Mousebreath cat interview.

Cyndi:  This week we have some new friends we met when the Tabbies O Trout Towne suggested them.  The Tabbies have been very helpful with making suggestions for interview subjects.  We do not know all the bloggers and can use suggestions.

Rusty:  Marty and Ralph are from the blog Musings by Marty Manx

Cameron:  Their blog is only a few months old but they have taken to blogging like a dog to water.  Let me rephrase that.  Like a duck to water.

Percy:  Please stop by Mousebreath to meet (if you haven't already) these friendly kitties and to read their story, Marty and Ralphie Muse

Marcus: We want to do something special for some blogging friends so we decided to share Jan's award.

Sam:  After Jan's second recent toe to door collision in the dark (well, not the second - more like the umpteenth, but the second serious injury), we presented Jan with the Fractured Paw Award yesterday.  Then we got to wondering if there were any other humans out there whose furries would like to nominate for the award.

Merci:  There are.  As Stella Rose from The Three Little Pugs wrote:

our momma is a klutz...one time she fell UP the steps at work and ended up in the emergency room all day, she had to have a cat scan etc etc she came back to work with a big big bruise on her face, last winter hers fell OUT the back door and hurt her knee really bad...geeze we fink she should just stay home wif us all the day long.

Buddy:  Congratulations to the hu-mom of Stella Rose, Margaret Mae and Angus McConnell.   Would any others like to nominate your human for this award?  No need to actually break any bones.  Only qualification is to be ... um, how can I put this delicately ... accident prone.

Beaglebratz and Funny Farmers

Buddy:  Yikes, our post did not auto publish this morning.  It reverted to draft instead.  But never fear, we are finally here.

Marcus:  Hey, Buddy, you made a joke. Or is that a rhyme?

Percy:  Well, we are really off to a late start today.  First, this didn't auto publish.  And now the Sundays at the Shelter blog has reminded us that I am guarding Marcus in the v-e-t carrier on the Cat Blogosphere calendar today.  Two handsome mancat calendar models.

Cyndi:  Oh, no, we really are getting just like Jan.  We forget to read the calendar too.  But now for our regularly scheduled post.

Sam:  Oh, and be sure to come back next Friday.  There is something special planned for the Pet Parade.

Merci:  What's wrong, Cameron?  You look down in the dumps.

Cameron:  We kitties are a bit disappointed because we weren't able to coordinate a Mousebreath interview for today.

Sam:  Don't worry about it.  I'm sure you'll have one for next week.  Meanwhile, we have other news of interest today.

Rusty:  Oh, that's right.  Come on, guys, chin up, let's do the happy dance together.

Marcus:  I don't mind doing the happy dance, but would one of you like to tell me why we're dancing?

Buddy:  Guess it slipped your mind, but today we're the guest bloggers on the Team Beaglebratz blog.  Don't you remember writing our post last week?

Marcus:  Oh, yeah, now I remember.  We did a pretty good job on it, didn't we!

Cyndi:  It's not polite to brag, Marcus, but I think we did a decent job of it.

Micah:  Just as soon as we got the go-ahead, we put our heads together and wrote the post so we wouldn't be like Jan.  You know how she never remembers anything because she forgets to read the calendar.

Percy:   We are tickled pink - wrong expression, I'm not into pink.  I know!  We're pleased as catnip punch to be doing a guest post for Shiloh 'n Shasta.  So drop by Team Beaglebratz and check us out.

Time for another Pet Parade with your hosts Rascal and Rocco.

And your co-hosts Bionic Basil, Barking from the Bayou, Love is being owned by a husky and us (Jan's Funny Farm).

There are no rules.  Just add a link to one of your posts.  Check out this week's Featured Favorite.  Make some new friends.  And have some fun.

There are TWO parts to the Pet Parade, the blog links and the social media links.  So if you grab the code, be sure to get the InLinkz code for both!

FFHT and Siameezers

Micah:  We decided to try something new and do a Fractured Fryday Hairy Tails (FFHT) post, which is hosted by Murphy and Stanley

Cameron:  But we're not very good at writing stories so we've had a problem coming up with one.

Merci:  We have to use a specific phrase in the story.  Do any of you have an idea?

Percy:  *races into room and slides to a stop*  Stop the presses!  Buddy and I have solved the problem.

Buddy:  *panting*  Yes, we hope you haven't started writing anything yet.  A package was just delivered.  Jan brought it inside and left it by the door.

Rusty:  But how does that help us?  It's supposed to be a scary tale, isn't it?  What's so scary about a box?

Marcus:  Is it a box of treats for us?  That wouldn't be scary.

Cyndi:  Unless it's a box of spiders.  I don't like spiders.

Sam:  Why would anyone pay to ship us a box of spiders?

Percy:  No one did, Sam.  But there is something in the box that is very scary.

Micah:  What would anyone send us a box of stuff that's scary?

Buddy:  Jan ordered it.

Marcus:  Jan ordered something?  Yes, that is scary.  *chuckles*

Rusty:  So what is in the box?

Percy:  Come see for yourself.  It will scare the socks off of all of you.

Sam:  We don't wear socks.  But this sounds serious.  Do I need to wear my Thundershirt for this?

Cameron:  If it will scare the fleas off of us, I'm game.

Cyndi:  I'm starting to get a bit nervous with all this scary talk.  I'm not sure I want a fright.

Percy:  Aw, don't be wimps.  Come on.  Buddy, you lift that flap and I'll lift this one.  Gather round, all of you, for the surprise of your life.

Buddy:  When I opened the box, I was startled to find...

Chorus:  Eeeeeeeek!

Percy:  I wonder what caused them to run away?  There's nothing in the box but new business cards with our Funny Farmers picture on them.

Buddy:  I know.  Do you think it's something we said?  They didn't even wait around for us to tell them the scary part is that Jan remembered to order them for us.

Cyndi:  Today is also our Mousebreath interview day.  Pipo and Minko, the cats from WeBeesSiameezers, are new to blogging.  This is a great opportunity for other bloggers to get acquainted with them.  They are Catster refugees.  (Sorry Catster, your loss is blogging's gain.)

Rusty:  We hope you will stop by Mousebreath to read their story, Pipo and Minko, Valentine Siameezers.

If you are a blogger, we hope you will join Rascal and Rocco's Pet Parade.

It is co-hosted by Bionic Basil, Barking from the Bayou, Love is being owned by a husky and us (Jan's Funny Farm).
