Skeezix Pink

Today is turn your blog pink Wednesday to honor Skeezix.  Our blog has been pink for a while, so we didn't need to change it.

On June 18 we wrote a Farewell Skeezix post and created an original graphic to go with it.

And we made another graphic in his honor for his Mousebreath Skeezix Interview last Friday.

So we've pretty well covered anything we would write for today.  Yes, we could write more, but there are so many tributes posted to him today, we suggest you visit and read their Skeezix stories.  Unless, of course, you haven't already read ours; then just click on either or both links to see what we had to say. 

We might have already mentioned this, but it won't hurt to repeat it:  Skeezix, you will not be forgotten. You are missed by so many and our hearts hurt for your Food Lady and Mr. Tasty Face. 

Memorial Day Angel Flight

In the US, Memorial Day is a day we honor military men and women who died in service to their country.

A while back we did a post on Angel Flights, flights that bring soldiers killed in combat (heroes) home.

We'd like to post the shorter version instead of the remix today. (If you'd like to know how the song came about, check out our post USAF Angel Flights.)  This is a beautiful song and we feel it appropriate for Memorial Day.  Listening to it still gives us teary eyes and chills.

There's a dedication flashed onscreen to the "Red River 44."  If you'd like to know who this refers to -
"On September 17, 2008 seven soldiers from the 2-149th Aviation Task Force 34 were killed in a CH47 Chinook crash near Talil, Iraq."

This is for them.  And for all our military who have fallen in the line of duty.

In Remembrance of Jan Struckhoff

Cat blogger Jan Struckhoff of Sabrina, Sam & Simon, a.k.a. known as the Rocky Mount Meezers left us suddenly in late November. Her family and friends are gathering today for a memorial service. We are sending prayers, purrs and pawtaps to comfort them.

Farewell, Jan.  A stranger could tell by all the Facebook comments and blog posts that you were loved by so many and you are greatly missed by all..


Kashim, Othello & Salome have written a lovely post.  They also set up a special memorial post on the Cat Blogosphere.
