Post Does Not Exist
RUSTY: Hey, Micah, where did everyone go?
MICAH: They went to bed already. Guess it's just the two of us to write tomorrow's post.
RUSTY: So what should we write about?
MICAH: I don't know. What do you want to write about?
RUSTY: Well, we could ... No, we already did that.
MICAH: How about - Never mind. We better not tell that story!
RUSTY: I have nothing.
MICAH: I don't have anything either.
RUSTY: So this post does not exist?
MICAH: Right. And if it does, we'll just deny it.

Micah's Third Fourth or Fifth
BUDDY: Happy birthday/Gotcha Day, Micah. We are so glad you joined the Funny Farmers 3 years ago.
PERCY: *mutters* Well, some of us are and some of us aren't.
RUSTY: What did you say, Percy? You were mumbling and I didn't catch it.
PERCY: I said, Of course we are. And we're pleased to celebrate your assigned 4th or 5th birthday.
SAM: I remember the day we first saw you. You were obviously an indoor cat that someone abandoned. You still prefer canned food to kibble.
MERCI: You were so terrified you followed us on our walk even though we kept barking at you. Then you spent the night inside the mill where you cut your foot. You were so happy when Jan brought you home the next day.
CYNDI: We have always wondered if your owner died and someone just drove you to the mill and dumped you.
MARCUS: That was before my time, but you're okay as a brother.
MICAH: Thank you, I am happy here. But why do I feel like someone is watching me all the time?
MARCUS: I have no idea. You must be paranoid.
Hey, stop by Pepi Smart Dog's blog today. He has the perfect solution for Jan to transport us around town.
Hey, thanks for the lovely cards!

Be Fore or After?
BUDDY: Hey, Micah, how many golfers does it take to change a light bulb?
MICAH: Why, are you thinking of playing golf in the dark?
BUDDY: Of course not. Jan would never buy me a set of golf clubs.
MICAH: So why are you asking?
BUDDY: It's just a simple question. How many golfers does it take to change a light bulb?
MICAH: Well, if you aren't going to play golf in the dark, what difference does it make?
BUDDY: Just humor me.
MICAH: Okay. I don't know.
BUDDY: Well, at least make a guess.
MICAH: Are they changing the bulb before or after they've played a round of golf?
BUDDY: Does it matter?
MICAH: Yes.
BUDDY: Okay, after they've played a round of golf.
MICAH: One?
BUDDY: Why would you guess one?
MICAH: Because I figure after the golfers have played 18 holes, they're tired and want to rest. So they draw straws and the short guy loses and has to change the light bulb by himself.
BUDDY: *blinks rapidly* Uh ... that makes sense but it isn't the right answer.
MICAH: So what do you think is the right answer?
BUDDY: Fore!
MICAH: Four? *rubs chin with paw* Well, I guess that would work if the bulb is changed before the game.
BUDDY: Why?
MICAH: Don't golfers generally play in a foursome? Well, everyone - even us furries - know golfers are a bit fanatical about the game, so if they haven't played yet, I would imagine the whole team would be scrambling to change the bulb so their game could commence.
BUDDY: Not four, Micah, fore. It's a golf term meaning "duck, you're in the path of a ball"!
MICAH: It does? I guess the next time Jan yells, "I have four dog treats. Who wants one?" I'll have to remember to duck.

Just To Spite Percy
Micah: Do you remember this photo of me? When I first arrived, Percy hated me! And I was so stressed from living in fear of him attacking me that I got sick and nearly died. Jan force fed me lots of good stuff - things that were good for me, not so much that tasted good - and I survived. Just to spite Percy, of course! :)
After that food tasted so good, I got a bit roly poly for a short time, as you can see in this photo. Then I slimmed down to fighting weight and now I'm a lean, mean fighting cat. In other words, I don't hide any more.
Percy and I tolerate each other but we won't ever be best buddies. That's too bad. I kind of like Percy. He's an expert typist and he's not afraid of anything.
So I thought I would do my own Thankful Thursday post today. It's sure nice to have a home where there is always some furry to play with. Or fight with. It's just nice to have company. Or not. I can go off by myself is I want. And there is always a food bowl on the washing machine. It's not always full, cause Jan gets forgetful. But I've never starved since I arrived.
I don't know what I did wrong that caused my last family to dump me, but I have it pretty good here, so it's their loss.
Oh, sorry, I gotta go. Percy has hooked a bag of treats and is calling all of us kitties to share.

Sam and Dr. Seuss
![]() | |
| Sam is out of costume again. (l-r: Micah, Cyndi, Rusty, Sam, Merci, Cameron) |
Rusty: Today we are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss. If he were still alive, he would be ... um, well, older than Jan!
Micah: How old is Jan?
Merci: She's ... I'm not sure, but she's been around longer than any of us.
Cameron: Sam, we need to have a serious talk with you about your choice of hats for this annual celebration.
Sam: There's nothing wrong with my choice of hats for any occasion. *glare* I am always dressed for the proper occasion and this occasion is cold!
Cyndi: It's good to be back in color again. I felt so plain yesterday.
![]() |
| Cyndi in black & white |
Micah: You were in color for Dr. Seuss Day, Cyndi. And now you're in black in white for Black & White Sunday.
Rusty: You're a pretty girl in any color - or lack of it, so just enjoy the extra attention this weekend.
Cyndi: Do I get paid extra? There's a cute outfit I'd like to buy.
Merci: Paid? Are you joking? Oh, of course you are. This is also Sunday Smile day.
Sam: Something had been chasing deer away and the culprit was caught on video.
Cameron: And wait till you see who was doing it.

Canine Sniffing Schnoz
| Cameron & Merci |
Micah: Why are we posting this picture? Do we know these two?
Cyndi: Of course we know these two. That's a photo of Cameron and Merci.
Rusty: Are you sure? They look so young.
Cyndi. They are young. Cameron was just a kitten. He used to come visit Merci and they'd hang around together.
Micah: But Cameron lives here. Why would he need to visit and hang around?
Cyndi: Because he didn't live here yet. He wanted to 'cause he was lonely, but he lived next door. He and Merci were very close.
Rusty: Did he like you, Buddy?
Buddy: I didn't know them yet. I joined the Funny Farmers a few months later.
Cyndi: I'm the only one left who remembers Cameron when he was really young.
Percy: *clears throat* Ahem! Have you forgotten me? I'm only 2 weeks older than Cameron and I've lived here since I was a little pipsqueak. Um, I mean a little squeaker ... a baby, I was a baby.
Cyndi: Sorry, Percy. You're correct. You did know Cameron when he was very young.
Percy: There have been so many changes around here in the last 9 years. We've lost Grayce, Jenny, Crystal and Cotton.
Micah: I haven't lived here as long as the rest of you. Do I understand correctly, the only thing that hasn't changed is Jan?
Cyndi: Yes. We've tried to exchange her for a human with a better memory and more green papers so we can get an allowance or our own credit card. The woofies even took her out and tried to lose her a few times - but she's like a yoyo; she keeps coming back.
Micah: Then shouldn't we give her an award for being able to find her own way home?
Rusty: No! If we compliment her on finding her own way home without a canine sniffing schnoz to follow a trail, she'll get a swelled head which won't fit through the front door. Who would shop for our food?
Buddy: This is making me hungry. I think we need to wrap this up and I'll use my sniffing schnoz to find us a snack.
Percy: We are joining the Sepia Saturday.blog hop. It's hosted by Ruckus the Eskie.

Helping the Blind Lady
Micah: It's cold here and I'm squatting on one of the warm spots Jan puts about for us.
Merci: I like to stay outside now and then because I have a thick, warm coat.
Micah: So what shall we do for a Sunday Smile this week?
Merci: The humans seems to like when we post something for them, so I found this video.
Micah: About cats and dogs?
Merci: No, about humans. They like to pull pranks, so this should go over well. These people are helping an old blind lady.
Micah: What's so funny about people helping an old blind lady?
Merci: Watch the video and you'll see.
If the video doesn't play, click here.
Micah: Okay, I see what's so funny now. Do you think we could pull this on Jan?
Merci: I don't know. Do you think you could open a paint can?

Treats for Cold Cats
Cyndi: As cold as it is, Jan should be feeding us more treats so we're too busy chewing to notice how cold we are.
Cameron: That makes sense to me, but try explaining that to Jan. She's kind of stingy with treats.
Percy: But we did get a few. Jan managed to snag us a free sample bag chewy.com was giving away.
Rusty: Yeah, we each got a few.
Cyndi: Here I am checking them out.
Percy: Sniff, sniff.
Micah: Smells okay. (Yes, I'm on the top of the gas stove. It's warm here. Jan gave me my treats and then she shooed me off again. *sigh*)
Percy: Excuse me, Cameron, but I believe these are mine.
Cameron: Bug off, Percy, you already ate your share.
Cameron: Scram!
Percy: I don't think so.
Cameron: Go away. These re mine.
Percy: I don't see your name on them.
Rusty: Sometimes it pays to find a quiet spot to be alone. Treats in bed and no Percy to steal from me.
Micah: The treats were the new Orijen original flavorfreeze dried treats for cats. made from chicken and turkey liver and boneless chicken, turkey and flounder.
Percy: Have you seen any crumbs floating around here? I think Jan forgot to give me my share and she says it was just a sample bag and there aren't any leftovers.
Cameron: Don't you dare pretend you don't remember eating your share and half of mine, Percy! Your nose is going to grow from fibbing.
Percy: Well, it was worth a shot. Do you think there's any chance Jan will spring for a full-size bag for us?
Thank you for the sample, chewy.com. We did not receive any compensation for this post. We just wanted to let you know if you have a chance to sample them, they're good.

Christmas Story by Micah
Warm and cozy thoughts for your Christmas celebration. We wish you a Merry Christmas filled with family, friends and fun. And whatever your faith, we hope you will remember the reason for the celebration.
We want to thank all of you for the beautiful cards of one type or another.(email, snail mail, Jib Jab, Jacquie Lawson, Smilebox, SloppyKiss, etc.). We have enjoyed every one of them and are grateful for your friendship and kindness. We have emailed several lists of bloggers the above card and hope you received yours. If not, grab the one above. If you'd like a copy fit for print, we'd be happy to email you one.
Before we finish this post, Micah has a Christmas Eve story for you.
Micah:
Thank you. I'd like to tell you something that happened last night. With Red aka Little Puppy No Name here, Jan gets up several times a night to put him outside to pee. She opens the screen door, puts Red down, gives him a slight push and closes the door very quickly. Red runs down the steps, takes a quick pee and races back up to be let inside. For this, she doesn't even bother to put on a robe.
About 2:30 this morning, Buddy got up and made it clear he wanted to go out. Jan got up, threw on her robe, went back to the bed, picked up Red who was curled up in a ball sleeping soundly, and proceeded to take him out. Buddy detoured to the kitchen for a drink of water.
It was c-o-l-d! Jan opened the door, put Red down, gave his butt a push, and heard yelping from the bedroom. She had not put Red outside. It was ME!
And I didn't want to be outside. I am the house cat someone dumped last fall and I do not want to be outside. I didn't have to pee either. At least not until the moment the cold air hit me and I realized I was outside - alone - in the dark..
I ran down the steps and across the dog pen. I didn't know where to hide. Jan flew out the door and came after me, but I kept stopping and starting, trying not to panic. Finally, I was swooped up in Jan's arms and carried up the steps and deposited inside the door. Jan couldn't come in with me. You see, while chasing me in the dark, she'd stepped in dog poop. So first she had to remove her slipper. She hobbled inside on her heel so she wouldn't get the whole sock dirty, put the shoe down on newspaper, went into the bedroom to pluck Red from off the bed where he was screaming because he was alone, put him and Buddy outside, and went into the kitchen to clean the slipper over the trash.
Just as she reached the area of the trash can and cleaning supplies, her heel got soaked. Yep, she'd stepped in cat puke. Hooray for whichever kitty scored; I will be eternally in your debt. '
I hope you learned your lesson, Jan. Don't get up until you wake up!
Now back to our Christmas post.
We wanted a Christmas song to end our post. We chose Cloverton's video of "Hallelujah, The Christmas Version." We are sure at least some of you will enjoy it.

Micah Is Innocent
Micah: It's not fair. I get blamed for everything. I'm innocent, innocent, I tell you! She can't prove it either.
What am I talking about? Oh, last night Jan cooked some chicken drumsticks and left them to cool on the stove. Later she found what was left of one in my breakfast nook area. Just because some cat left it where I like to dine doesn't mean I was the culprit. I'm deeply hurt she believes it was me.
I know, I should move on to this week's Sunday Smile. You will enjoy it. None of us Funny Farmers are this weird. Well, Crystal used to be. Cotton would occasionally tolerate a little. Rusty used to enjoy this. But to be honest, a cat's got to be tetched in the head to hug a vacuum. Even the woofies run for cover when Jan gets ours out of the closet.
Some feline friends of this cat should hold an intervention. Or perhaps he could join VCA (Vacuum Cleaners Anonymous) This is just unnatural. Here, it's short. Check it out for yourself.

Oh, we want to apologize to Matilda's Journey. We put the Shine On award in our To Post folder so we wouldn't forget it and ... uh, we did. In case you aren't aware, we did a Meet & Greet on Matilda's blog on September 17th and Matilda hurriedly and unexpectedly had to leave for the bridge on October 6th. The blog continues but Matilda is missed. We'd like to thank them for sharing the award.
I don't have anything else to add, so guess I'll close for now. Oh, wait. Let me take a quick look around. No, I don't see Jan or any of the other furries. So I would like to add, *whisper* Boy, was that drumstick delicious!

Weruva Rap
PeRuCaMiCy? MiCaPeRuCy? No, we aren't stoked on nip. We were trying to see what we could make from the first two letters of our feline names. We tried different combinations but none of them make a word - or even any sense. But Stacie and David put the letters of their rescued cats' names together (WEbster, RUdi, VAnessa) and named their cat food Weruva. And we got to taste test some of Weruva's Cats in the Kitchen food. It's made in a human food facility Did we like it?

Oh, sorry Cameron: Guess we should have waited till you finished eating to ask. But we think you said, "Good? Yes, delicious." Is that correct?
Cameron: Mmmf.
We'll take that as an affirmative.

Most Thankful Birthday Ever
Micah: Hey, I'm hungry. The cat treats are gone. Is there any birthday cake left?
Sam: Mmfff, niff. Gulp.
Micah: That would be a no. Right Sam?
Sam: Um, actually it would.
Micah: I knew I should have stashed a piece under my bed last night.
Sam: Well, the cake is gone but there are plenty of other things to be thankful for today.
Micah: Like what?
Sam: Let's see ... We're together. We don't have a car, it's cold in the house, but we're still a family. That's something to be thankful for.
Micah: You're right, Sam. There is always something to be thankful for. Sometimes we have to look hard to find it, though.
Sam: I wonder what our readers are thankful for?
Percy: Oh, speaking of readers, if any of them are wondering what was in the big surprise box we gave Buddy for his birthday yesterday, it turned out to be an even bigger surprise than we imagined. (You can read the story here.)
Sam: After Buddy knocked himself out when he fell from the stool, the rest of us gathered in the kitchen to eat Buddy's birthday cake. (We did give him the first slice, even if he wasn't aware of it.)
Micah: We weren't in the room when the gift box was opened, so we'll let Dr. Buddy's good friend Billy Sweetfeets Norton Gingersnap from Meezer Tales tell you what happened when the gift got tired of waiting and popped out of the box..
Billy: *jumps out of box* TA-DA!! um where is efurryone? isn't this mine Dr Buddy's purrfday party? ME hadded to go from NOO YORK to WHISKERKONSCIN to get in the box.
BUDDY?? BUDDY??? Paging Dr Buddy - HELLO? Happy Purrfday? *sneaks plateful of cake out from under Buddy's paw* um, you gonna eat dis?
Cyndi: And that is the rest of the story of how we accidentally gave Buddy the best birthday present he's ever had.
Cameron: A concussion?
Rusty: No, Cameron, a visit from his old friend Billy.
Merci: It was a good day, wasn't it?
Buddy: I'd like to thank all of you who came by yesterday to wish me a happy birthday. It was the most excitement we've had around here in ages.

Thankful Micah and Fundraiser
Hey, everyone, Micah here. Isn't this neat? Jan says I look every bit as handsome as Rusty and Percy, who had their portraits painted last week as part of her 30 pics in 30 days challenge. You can see all the nifty portraits she painted in those 30 days here.
Mom Lou from HH & the Boys (Bugsy & Knuckles) painted my portrait. She even included the little dot on my nose. Jan says we can't afford to buy any of the portraits but she hopes perhaps Lou could sell them since she's done such a great job and deserves to be compensated. She's really a sweet lady. You can visit her art blog here. http://loubelcherart.com/blog

And now we'd all like to tell you about the human dad from Talk with the Paw blog. Liz (hu-mom to Tigger & Munchkin) hasn't been able to blog very often for quite a while because she's had to help her husband as well as earn some green papers for them. He's been very sick and appears headed for a heart transplant. As we understand it from a friend who was going through the transplant process a few years ago, the patient is responsible in advance for raising adequate funds to cover everything insurance won't be paying for. And that requires some major fundraising.
We asked Mom Liz if it is okay to share her information and she said yes. " Hubby is in the process of being evaluated for a heart transplant. The fundraiser is to cover all the associated expenses not covered by Medicare, such as having to live in a hotel very near the hospital for a whole month afterwards, and the extra gas (and sometimes lodging and meal) costs for frequent clinic visits for the rest of his life to check on the health of the new heart."
UPDATE: November. 2nd from Liz, "There have been some new developments with hubby's health, and for now, he's been bumped off the transplant program, and therefore has become ineligible for the fundraiser."
We're sorry to learn this and hope things will change for the better soon.

Hello! My name is Noodle and I want to state right at the beginning I am sooo new at this!
My people and I have only been blogging for about two and a half months so we ask your kind indulgence in our attempt to leap into the blogosphere.
About my name; they were trying to decide on an appropriate name when someone noticed I was long and thin and floppy like a noodle thus I was named Noodle.
I was a feral kitty with five brothers and sisters. We were rescued by Friends Of Animals in Seattle. We were all living together in a tiny area in the shelter and one by one all of my feline family was adopted and I was left alone. One day some people who had just lost their sweet cat came in and just as I thought they were going to leave, they picked me up and saved me!
I must admit I am a bit spoiled. I have tons of kitty toys. Truth be told I love playing with the toilet paper! In a pinch some paper towels will do.

We love blogging! And I am so grateful to all of the wonderful cats and people who have stopped by our blog.
This whole experience has been incredible, I can't wait to learn more and meet more new friends.
I hope you like our little blog. It's still in it's infancy as am I but together we will grow and flourish.
Many Noodle hugs to you all!

Platefuls and A Giveway
Percy: Well, we Funny Farmer Felines got to taste some Natural Balance Platefuls. This comes in packets instead of cans. It has chicken, salmon and turkey in gravy, plus goodies such as salmon oil, ground flaxseed and dried kelp,.but no corn, soy, wheat, artificial flavors, or colors.
Cyndi: We tried some of the Indoor Formula. We're indoor cats, so that seemed like a good idea.

| The first day Cameron ate the gravy and left the chunks. |
Rusty: The second day, Jan used the late Miss Mother's (we're mannerly Southern cats, so we call Jan's mother Miss Mother) food chopper. Just look at the "teeth" on it. Jan says it is the best food chopper for onions or egg salad she's ever used. She decided to see if it would "smoosh" cat food (we like our food smooshed) so we'd all clean our bowls.
Micah: Natural Balance calls it a "plateful of goodness," but a product isn't any good if we kitties won't eat it, so let's taste test the smooshed version.
