Crash Bang Oops

Cameron:  Last Friday, October 3rd, we heard thunder rumbling closer.  All of a sudden B- A- N- G!!!!!

Micah:  Jan was sitting at the kitchen table balancing her checkbook.  She shot straight up in the air from off the stool, and ran for the back door.

Merci:  Just as she thought, another accident. The white truck on the left and the truck in the middle of the intersection had collided.  The one on the right stopped to help.  (This photo was taken through the chain link dog pen.)

Percy:  No sooner did she snap the photo, the storm hit. Vehicles came and left, two police cars arrived, one from the county Sheriff's Dept., and a State Trooper.  It was pouring rain but due process prevailed.

Sam:  Eventually, a tow truck arrived for the smaller truck.  The rear driver's side door was caved in on the big white work truck but it drove off under it's own steam.  Is that correct?  I didn't see any steam.

Rusty:  By that time the rain had stopped.  Eventually, everyone pulled away and the neighborhood returned to normal.

Cyndi: Yesterday (Thursday) as Jan walked home from Toastmasters Club, the mail truck was parked in front of our house away from the intersection, a usual.  A few minutes later, the mail truck was directly in front of our house behind a car with a new mail carrier (ID but no uniform yet) talking to a little old lady parked in the road in front of him.

Marcus:  Jan looked at me and asked why a little old lady would stop a mail truck to chit chat with the driver.  I dunno, I replied.  Why don't you ask her?  No, I don't want to be nosy, she answered.  Really?  Since when?

Buddy:  It took a few minutes but we all finally realized they weren't chit chatting. One vehicle had sideswiped the other and they were waiting for reinforcements.  After a bit another mail truck arrived and there was a lot of chatter.  Then a non-postal pickup truck arrived.  We guessed a postal supervisor because there was a lot more chatter.

Micah:  Finally a police car arrived.  More chatter and moving around.  And then a State Patrol Officer came.  Lots of back and forth movement and chatter.

Caemron:  All that exercise they were getting made us tired.  We didn't think they would ever leave!

Merci:  But they did.

Buddy:  The moral of this post is to stay away from our house for a while unless you have good collision insurance.

Percy:  Well, at least we don't have to worry about there being an accident in our alley.

Marcus:  Why is that?

Cyndi:  Because we don't have alley access, silly.

Marcus:  Oh, right.  I forgot.

Sam:  We don't have any pictures of Thursday's accident.  Jan didn't think it was a good idea to go outside to take photos of a federal truck after a minor incident, especially since she would have had to take pictures of any damage from the middle of the street.

Cyndi:  We tried to tell her no one would notice but she wasn't fooled ... I mean, she wouldn't listen.

Rusty:  We don't have a Mousebreath interview today. Hopefully, we will next Friday.

Sharpen Your Mice

Buddy:  Hey, everyone, clean the wax out of your ears and listen up!  We're having a dog Howloween  .. um, Halloween costume giveaway.  So sharpen your pencil and enter.

Cyndi:  Furries don't use a pencil, Buddy.  We use a keyboard and mouse.

Cameron:  Okay, so everyone can sharpen their keyboards and mice!

Rusty:  That makes no sense, Cameron.

Micah:  Things seldom make sense around here.

Sam:  Prepare the paw.  How's that?

Merci:  It's easy to enter.  Just visit yesterday's post, pick out the costume you would like to win and leave us a comment.

Percy:  Go ahead.  Pop over to read "Clown Soccer" and leave a comment there.  We'll wait.

Marcus:  We will?  I was just about to sneak off for a game of soccer.  Oh, sorry, Buddy said I wasn't supposed to mention that word today.  How about if I just mention there will be two winners picked to win a costume?

Clown Soccer

Micah:  I guess you all know Halloween is this month and it's fast approaching..

Cyndi:  We're going to celebrate with a dog costume giveaway from our old friends at Entirely Pets.

Merci:  They offered to send us costumes but we dogs weren't too cooperative last year so Jan declined.

Cameron:  And if you think the dogs were uncooperative last year, wait till you see what happened this eyar.

Marcus:  Jan was going to get a costume for me since I'm the only furry here who doesn't mind wearing a costume, but she said my ears are too big to know whether a costume would fit them.  Why would she say I have big ears?

Sam:  Because you have big ears.  And no sense.  Look what you did when Jan put a clown costume on you.

Marcus:  I was playing soccer.  And I had an audience. You don't interrupt a guy to take pictures of a costume in the middle of a game!

Rusty:  Well, the costume didn't slow your game any.  You look like a clown with the hat hanging off the side of your head.

Percy:  Look at the colorful hair dragging on the ground.  It's all mixed with leaves.  What a mess, Marcus!

Buddy:  I can't believe you let Jan put that outfit on you if you weren't going to wear it properly.  It isn't a soccer uniform.

Marcus:  It isn't?  It worked.  I played a good game.  Everyone laughed and had a good time watching.

Buddy:  That's because you looked so ridiculous.  You got the costume dirty.  Jan had to wash it.

Merci:  You look really sad, Sam.  Or were you plotting revenge?

Sam:  I was wondering what we can make Jan wear to make her look as dumb as a big male dog in a size medium pirate hat..

Percy:  Well, if I were Jan, I'd be afraid, very afraid of that look in your eyes.

Buddy:  Get this hat off my head right now or I'll take it off!

Cameron:  You wouldn't.  You didn't.

Buddy:  Of course I did!  Would I lie?

Micah:  Well, now that we've all had a little fun, let's get to the giveaway.  We know that many of you like to dress up in a costume.  Marcus does but he was having too much fun to pose yesterday.

Sam: So check out the dog costumes at Entirely Pets  and leave a comment telling us which costume you would like to win.

Cyndi:  We're sorry but the giveaway is only open to the US and Canada.  Be sure to leave some way to contact you should you win.  If you have any problem leaving a comment, use the contact form in our left sidebar to contact us and we will post a comment for you.

Merci:  We were going to test Giveaway Tools but we've had some technical problems and  decided to stick with Random.org to pick the two winners this time.We will try it next time.

Rusty:  Entries will close at midnight Friday, October 10.  Winner will be announced Sunday, October 12.

Thankful Halloween

Buddy, Sam, Merci

We've been thinking about what to be thankful for this week. Well, we are thankful for many things, but we couldn't figure out what to post. And then we remembered we're having a warm spell in between cold. So we decided this week we would post on how nice it is to have fur siblings to curl up with when the weather is nippy. (Yeah, it gets nippy in the house too.)

There are so many furries - and humans too - who don't have a home or warm bedding, let alone love and  companionship. Yes, we have much to be thankful for.  What about you?

We realize today is Halloween but we're not into wearing costumes and Jan won't let us beg treats from strangers, so we'll just wish you all a fun time tonight.

Merci

We're going to link up with PepiSmartDog's Thankful Thursday blog hop.

Percy is Painted

Yesterday we feared Rusty would get a swelled head because he was the only Funny Farmer Feline to have his portrait painted.  So HH very kindly painted Percy. for today  We all appreciate this.  Rusty is large enough without a swelled head.

We love the portrait of our handsome Percy. It was done by Mom Lou from HH and the Boys (Bugsy & Knuckles).

Don't forget our Halloween costume giveaway ends at midnight tonight and the winner will be announced on Monday.

Jan says funny things happen as humans get older, their memory starts slipping, and they're rushed.  She whipped up this graphic for us Monday afternoon and didn't notice until Wednesday afternoon when she was posting it on Facebook, she'd written "Buddy as Sweet Pea."  And no one noticed.  Not her.  Not us.  Not any of our readers.

Yes, that handsome dude looking like a green court jester is Sam, not Buddy.

Stop by and leave a comment on our Halloween Giveaway post if you wold like to enter to win a costume.

Meet & Greet Noodle

Welcome to today's Meet & Greet.  We know you will enjoy our featured guest, Noodle.  Noodle is new to blogging and we've all been there so we know how overwhelming yet fun it can be.  He's been  making lots of friends and plans to stick around for a while. His blog is called Here Comes Noodle.

Here's Noodle to tell you a little about himself.

******************

Noodle

Hello! My name is Noodle and I want to state right at the beginning I am sooo new at this!

My people and I have only been blogging for about two and a half months so we ask your kind indulgence in our attempt to leap into the blogosphere.

About my name;  they were trying to decide on an appropriate name when someone noticed I was long and thin and floppy like a noodle thus I was named Noodle.

I was a feral kitty with five brothers and sisters. We were rescued by Friends Of Animals in Seattle. We were all living together in a tiny area in the shelter and one by one all of my feline family was adopted and I was left alone. One day some people who had just lost their sweet  cat came in and just as I thought they were going to leave, they picked me up and saved me!

I must admit I am a bit spoiled. I have tons of kitty toys. Truth be told I love playing with the toilet paper! In a pinch some paper towels will do.

Noodle

We love blogging! And I am so grateful to all of the wonderful cats and people who have stopped by our blog.

This whole experience has been incredible, I can't wait to learn more and meet more new friends.

I hope you like our little blog. It's still in it's infancy as am I but together we will grow and flourish.

Many Noodle hugs to you all!

******************

We think we will be seeing and hearing a lot more about Noodle. Stop by to visit and say hello at  Here Comes Noodle.

Would you like to be featured in a Meet & Greet?  Email us a little about you and your blog and include a couple of photos.  Nothing fancy, no reason to be scared to contact us.  You know your blog best.  Tell the world  - well, at least our readers - who you are and what you do.  It will be fun.  Email us at JansFunnyFarm (at) gmail (dot) com.

Oh, dear, we've been so busy we forgot Micah's birthday (assigned) is today.  He came to us one year ago.  We're happy to have him as part of the family.  Happy birthday, dear Micah and we're sorry Jan forgot about you.  You know we never would.

And don't forget we are having a giveaway.  It ends Saturday midnight.  Details are in our Halloween Giveaway post.

Halloween Giveaway

Buddy:  Hey, friends, before we begin today's post and get to the giveaway, I ... we - Merci, Sam and I - would like to say we're innocent of everything except having fun picking on Jan.

Sam:  It all started when Jan ordered us each a Halloween costume.  She knows we do NOT EVER let her dress us if we have to dress by lifting our legs.  She was careful to order costumes with velvro, never dreaming there would be leg holes instead of velcro leg straps.  She thought the costumes would be like my thundershirt - all velcro tabs. Surprise!

Merci:  Well, we're about to show you the photo bomb session of the century.  Buddy, Sam and I weren't the only uncooperative elements of the photo shoot, the sun refused to shine through the tree branches.  Enough said.  Let's take a look.

Sweet Pea Sam

Sam:  Hey, look at me. I'm Sweet Pea, all in green.  From this angle I look more like a court jester, but let's take a look at the rest of the costume.

Sweet Pea Sam
Sam:  This is not how the costume should look.  It should fit.  Notice the leg hole to the right?  My ears go through the slits okay, but I refuse to let Jan put my feet through the leg holes.

Sweet Pea Sam
Sam:  It doesn't look so bad from this angle because the leg holes don't show.. It's a  nice one piece costume. Thick, soft material and accented with 3 large poly-filled peas. It even has a leash hole.  We're not sure if this is machine washable.

Sweet Pea Sam
Sam:  Don't look at me like that, Jan.  I need a break from modeling... This is an XL Sweet Pea costume.and you can get a much better idea of how is is supposed to look when the model actually puts his legs through the leg holes by clicking here.

Pirate Captain Buddy
Buddy:  And I'm the swashbuckling Captain Buddy.  Don't I look fierce?

Pirate Captain Buddy

Buddy: Hey, Sam, I didn't laugh when you tried on the Sweet Pea costume.  This has a buckle (which brilliant Jan buckled underneath my belly instead of across the back, a sash and a cutlas so I can threaten the kitties with walking the plank.  (Just kidding.  I love the Funny Farmer Felines.) It is machine washable.

Pirate Captain Buddy
Buddy:  What do you mean, I have to stand up so readers can see the costume?  I'm a senior pirate.  I sit down between sea voyages.

Pirate Captain Buddy
Buddy:  Yes, I know the arm holes stick out, but I will NOT let Jan put my legs through.  Use some imagination.  You can see how this costume should fit by clicking here.

Clown Merci
Merci:  This costume that doesn't have leg holes, just velcro.  I'm even more senior than Buddy, so I get the privilege of sitting as I model too. This is an easy on, easy off two-piece costume. It is machine washable.

Clown Merci
Merci:  Here is a side and back of the head view.

Clown Merci
Merci:  Don't I look cute?  Very festive.  Don't you love the colors?

Clown Merci
Merci:  Are we done with the pictures yet?

Clown Merci
Merci: Al dressed up and ready for Halloween.  Hey, I don't have to keep this on until then, do I?  Whew, I get to take it off before then.

Clown Merci
Merci:  You can find this clown costume here. I wear a medium.

Buddy in pirate hat
Buddy:  Jan thinks I look cute in the pirate hat.  Back view.

Buddy in pirate hat, Merci & Sam
Buddy:  Captain Buddy reporting for plundering.  Merci and Sam will assist.

Sam in pirate hat, Merci standing guard
Sam: Hey, I look handsome in this hat.  Do you think any girl woofies will think I'm a catch?

Sam in pirate hat
Sam: Or do you think my head is too big and I look more like a cowboy in this hat?  Hats are fun.

Merci:  We did enjoy trying on the costumes, even if the guys are against wearing anything over their legs. Jan said she wishes she had dressed us up when we were young so we we'd be accustomed to it now.

Buddy: The nice folks at Entirely Pets said we could do a giveaway of our favorite costume,  but there are so many neat ones, we'd like to let the winner choose his or her own favorite costume.  The costumes are made for dogs, but it's possible the smaller sizes, especially the hats, could fit a cat, so cats are not excluded from winning.  We do advise cats check the size measurements before entering, though, to be sure it comes in your size.  The available costumes can be found here.

Sam:  Who can enter? Any furry from the US, UK and Canada. Just leave a comment on this post TELLING us you'd like to enter!  Be sure to leave some way we can contact you. We'll leave the giveaway open until midnight Saturday, September 28 and announce the winner chosen by Random.com on Monday, Sept. 30.

If you are unable to leave a comment to enter for some reason, email  your entry comment to us and we will post it for you.  In you do, be sure to include your name and your blog address, if you have one.  jansfunny farm AT gmail DOT com.

Entirely Pets provided the costumes but we were not paid for this review and any opinions expressed are our own.

Snoozing and Deviled Ham

Gracie talked us into entering Kat's Kats' 2nd Annual Sleeping Contest. It was extended until the 7th, so if you haven't entered yet, you still have time.  It's for cats only, though, and Buddy is sad he didn't get to enter his sleeping picture.

We tossed a piece of kibble to choose which of us to enter but Sam caught and ate it before it could land near one of us.  So we decided to just vote.  And Cameron's photo was chosen.

Here's Cameron snoozing away in a we-don't-have-a-clue what this is position.

In case any of you haven't yet met Pyewacket the piglet, stop by and say hello.   And don't miss her Halloween costume - deviled ham.

Halloween Spooktacular Voting

Voting has begun at Hansel's Halloween Spooktacular contest and will run through November 1st and 2nd.  We have two entries in the contest but we don't want you to vote for us just because we are friends.  We want you to vote for whichever entry you like best in each category..  So go vote and have some fun.

Buddy Says No to Costume is Buddy's entry in Hansel's Halloween Spooktacular.  We figure it only takes one glance to get the message Buddy is sending in this photo.

Bag Lady Jan is Jan's entry.  If furry faces can turn red with embarrassment, ours are flaming.  We're thinking of disowning her.  But then who would we pick on?

By the way, if you happen to need a few plastic bags, we have a good idea where you can find some.

Halloween, Buddy and Jan

We had lots of news to post but we've forgotten most of it. There is a lot of news on the Cat Blogosphere lately. Too many illnesses and deaths - both human and feline.

We spent most of the last week unable to view Blogger headers and misc. photos from Blogger, even some Jan had taken or graphics she'd made. We posted on it the other day believing the problem was corrected, but Jan had misunderstood and unchecked something she shouldn't have. She couldn't believe our antivirus company actually told us to uncheck it and reversed it on her own, fortunately, but then we couldn't view so many photos again.

After a few days, the tech told Jan to just enter the photos she couldn't see as exceptions. Now we already had over 200 or 300 hundred blocked photos from just part of one day. So Jan calmly and coolly emailed a reply: ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!!!!

Tech Support then referred the problem to Product Support. The problem was fixed Wednesday night with a definitions update. It is so nice to see all your handsome faces again. It was hard, though, to figure out any Wordless Wednesday posts since we couldn't view the photos.

We want to remind you of Hansel's Halloween Spooktacular Contest.
Buddy posted his non-costume this morning.  And we just submitted Jan's entry.  But we need to warn you that her entry nearly made Charlie's (Old Kitty) human fall off her chair.  We're not sure if it was shock or laughter.

We'll make this a short post so you can go look around Hansel's Halloween blog.  Perhaps it will stimulate your creativity and you'll submit an entry or two yourself.  This year you must have a blog to enter.  There are several categories.  The deadline to submit your entry is noon on Halloween.  (Eastern time.)

Have fun.
