Mastering the Hammock

Buddy:  We have a two part Sunday Smile for you today.

Micah:  Part I was too tame, so we'll go right to Part 2.

Sam:  This is Timo the Ragdoll.

Cameron:  He has his own hammock.

Rusty:  We think someone was putting him in the hammock in Part 1.

Cyndi:  But Part 2 is funny so we'll start here.  It's short.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Percy:  We doubt Timo has a weight problem.  That's a lot of exercise.

Marcus:  I think he'd have more fun exercising with me in a game of soccer.

Merci:  He's evidently had a lot of practice because now he appears to be relaxed.  This, too, is a short video.

Chocolate Brindle Cat's Meow

Happy Father's Day!

Cameron:  It's time for another Sunday Smile, but first ...

Rusty:  But first, a word from our sponsor.

Sam:  What are you babbling about?  We don't have a sponsor.

Rusty:  No, but I've always wanted to say that.  Okay, I got it out of my system.

Cyndi:  Glad to hear that but you interrupted the story flow.  Cameron, what were you saying?

Cameron:  I think I was saying, but first ...  I forget.  Oh, yeah, but first our black and white blog hop entry.

Merci:  I don't think I fade into the background in this photo as much as the original.

Sam: Yesterday we posted the original, a sepia and a graduated green version of this picture.  I still can't get over how white I am here. No mud from Marcus, but no freckles / spots either.  Did Jan give me a bath and I slept through it?  No, not possible!

Marcus:  Is it my turn to preen now?  Because I think if I had a bow tie I would look like a cat's meow.

Micah:  Marcus, you have no idea what a cat's meow looks like.

Marcus:  I certainly do!  A cat's meow looks like a chocolate brindle with a white bib and pointy ears.

Buddy:  *rolls eyes*  Marcus, you aren't even a cat.  Someone please take this youngster off our paws!

Percy:  Our video today is guaranteed to put a Sunday Smile on your face.  It was such fun to watch the running of the baby goats.  So, let's watch it again.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Merci:  Friday we posted on Rescue vs Breeder and asked for reader feedback. Thank all of you who responded via comments or email. You offered some thought provoking commentary.  We appreciate each one of you.

Black and White Marshmallow

Merci:  This is Sam's weekend to be featured.  Yesterday we posted an original photo, the same photo in sepia and also in Poster Art. (Poster Edge Kibble Crumbs)

Buddy:  Today is Black and White Sunday so guess what we'll post today?

Marcus:  Why are you asking readers, Buddy?  Are they clairvoyant?

Sam:  No, but we figure our readers are pretty smart and will be able to figure we'll post the photo today in purple.

Marcus:  I thought Buddy said it's Black and White Sunday.  Why would we post your photo in .... Oh, I get it.  You're pulling my leg, aren't you!

Buddy:  Here you are, Sam, in black and white ... Marcus was right yesterday.  You are looking at the ceiling with your right eye and straight ahead with your left.

Sam:  I am not!

Merci:  Sam, Buddy's pulling your leg now.

Percy:  For our Sunday Smile, we have a short video on Marshmallow the Houdini Cat.

Cyndi:  Marshmallow lives in Marseille, France and can escape any cage at the vet clinic.

Rusty:  Does he not like the vet or does he have a secret stash of goodies?

Cameron:  It could be he just likes the thrill of the escape.

Micah:  I wonder if he releases any other cats at the clinic after he opens his own door

Percy:  Good questions, but we'll never know the answers.  Enjoy the video.

Adoption for Doorknobs

Cyndi:  We always like to have a little smile on Sunday, so we looked around for something to share.

Sam:  We found this short video in our files.

Cameron:  We're jealous.  We want Jan to install doorknobs like the ones in the video but she says no!

Micah:  She's a bit of a cheapskate, you know.  I mean, how much can a few doorknobs cost?

Buddy:  Evidently more than she has since she told us if we want them, we can pay for them.

Percy:  We reminded her she has never given us an allowance, so we don't have any money to spend.

Rusty:  She told us we'll get an allowance when she gets one!  Does that sound fair?

Merci:  Perhaps one of our readers would like to adopt all of us?  We won't need individual payments; we'll be glad to share one allowance.

Marcus:  We aren't asking for much, just a few hundred a month until the doorknobs are paid for and installed.

Percy:  Think about it.  And when you're ready you can reach us at 1-Fun- nyF- armers.

Buddy:  While you're thinking it over, here's the video.  The cat opens 5 doors to go outside.  Take a good look at the doorknobs so you can order the same ones after the adoption.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Sam:  This is so exciting.  There would be no stopping our adventures with those doorknobs!

Rusty:  Yesterday we posted my photo - in the original version, in sepia and in high dynamic range.  Today we present the black and white version.  Not bad.  You can see my tabby stripes.  But I  think I looked better in color.  What do you guys think?

Merci:  Now that we have made you smile, we'll join co-hosts Dachshund Nola  http://dachshundnola.blogspot.com/  and  Ruckus the Eskie  http://www.sugarthegoldenretriever.com/ for the Black and White Sunday blog hop.

Micah Is Innocent

Micah:  It's not fair.  I get blamed for everything.  I'm innocent, innocent, I tell you!  She can't prove it either.

What am I talking about?  Oh, last night Jan cooked some chicken drumsticks and left them to cool on the stove.  Later she found what was left of one in my breakfast nook area.  Just because some cat left it where I like to dine doesn't mean I was the culprit.  I'm deeply hurt she believes it was me.

I know, I should move on to this week's Sunday Smile.  You will enjoy it.  None of us Funny Farmers are this weird.  Well, Crystal used to be.  Cotton would occasionally tolerate a little.  Rusty used to enjoy this.  But to be honest, a cat's got to be tetched in the head to hug a vacuum.  Even the woofies run for cover when Jan gets ours out of the closet.

Some feline friends of this cat should hold  an intervention.  Or perhaps he could join VCA (Vacuum Cleaners Anonymous) This is just unnatural.  Here, it's short.  Check it out for yourself.

Oh, we want to apologize to Matilda's Journey.  We put the Shine On award in our To Post folder so we wouldn't forget it and ... uh, we did.   In case you aren't aware, we did a Meet & Greet on Matilda's blog on September 17th and Matilda hurriedly and unexpectedly had to leave for the bridge on October 6th.  The blog continues but Matilda is missed. We'd like to thank them for sharing the award.

I don't have anything else to add, so guess I'll close for now.  Oh, wait.  Let me take a quick look around.  No, I don't see Jan or any of the other furries.  So I would like to add, *whisper* Boy, was that drumstick delicious!

Old Time Communication

 Merci:

We were looking through our posted photos for this year and discovered most of the more recent ones show all of us stuffing our faces, so we grabbed this one of me.  And that's how I got selected as spokesfurry of the day.

That's okay.  I don't mind.

This post is for Jan since she has been around since communication was accomplished with hieroglyphics carved on a wall.. (Uh, I wonder if she'll get upset with me for giving away her age?)  She definitely remembers this old-time machine.  She's told us stories of spraining her thumb on one of them a time or dozen.

Perhaps your human can relate? Anyway, we hope you all have a Sunday Smile.

The boys had been up in the attic together helping with some cleaning. The kids uncovered an old manual typewriter and asked her, "Hey Mom, what's this?"

"Oh, that's an old typewriter," she answered, thinking that would satisfy their curiosity.

"Well, what does it do?" they queried.

"I'll show you," she said and returned with a blank piece of paper. She rolled the paper into the typewriter and began striking the keys, leaving black letters of print on the page.

"WOW!" they exclaimed, "That's really cool...but how does it work like that?  Where do you plug it in?"

“There is no plug," she answered. "It doesn't need a plug."

"Then where do you put the batteries?" they persisted.

"It doesn't need batteries either," she continued.

"Wow! This is so cool!" they exclaimed. "Someone should have invented this a long time ago!"

Flowers for Buddy

Percy: You might remember Buddy had a birthday last Wednesday. Jan came home Thursday afternoon to find the man in the brown shorts (we hope he's wearing long pants now - it's cold!) had delivered a big box of flowers - not for her, but as "A belated happy birthday, Buddy" present.

Percy checking out Buddy's flowers

Buddy:  This is the first time I've ever received flowers.  This is what they looked like before Jan stripped off most of the leaves and put the flowers in water.

Percy:  Buddy thinks he has a secret admirer, but I know who sent those.

Buddy:  Who?

Percy:  I'm not supposed to say.  Jan figured it out, but she said that since he or she didn't sign the card, we shouldn't tattle.

Buddy:  I would like to thank the person responsible.  Since Jan has a black thumb, we're more likely to be holding a funeral for flowers than admiring them in a vase.  Yep, we sure don't see many live flowers around here.

Percy:  We're not seeing much of these.  Jan has them high on a shelf so we can't reach them.  I know; I tried.  We're only allowed to admire them from afar.  She wouldn't even let me taste one.

Buddy:  To change the subject, we have a Sunday Smile for you.  Faline the fawn and Boots the kitten are best friends and cuddle buddies. Enjoy.  And have a good day.

6 Pee Cees in Bees

Cameron: Our object for today is to show you how to give kittens a free toy that will give them hours of playtime fun and give you hours of fun taking video.

Merci, Sam, Buddy with chew sticks.
Buddy:  Hey, wait a minute.  It's our turn, Cameron.

Cameron:  Well, you guys were so focused on getting a chew stick, I thought you needed some help.

Sam:  No, we don't need any help.

Cameron:  *mumbles*  Sheesh!  You think I'd get a "thank you" for trying to help them.

Buddy:  Hey, before you go, what kind of title is that?  Is "6 pee cees in bees" some kind of code?

Cameron:  It's simple, Buddy.  It means 6 P cats (Panda, Paris, Pikachu, Peter, Pavel and Persey) in boxes.

Buddy:  *shakes head*  You're right. It's so simple I don't know why that didn't occur to me.

Merci:   It's always good to start the week with a laugh and we know this video will at least make you smile.

Buddy: If it doesn't, I'm sure Cameron will volunteer to sing and dance for you.

Sam:  Not after that remark he won't.

Merci:  How about if I just introduce our Sunday Smile for the week?  Here are the 6 pee cees being adorable and having a blast showing off the finer points of jack--in-the-bees ... I mean, boxes..

Cats Want Pet Mouse

Sam:  Well, the cats are complaining again.  They think they should introduce this post but they had a turn Friday.

Merci:  Psst, Sam, it's not polite to look for crumbs when you're talking to readers.

Sam:  Oh, yeah, sorry.  We picked out this video the other day.  Some of you have already seen it but some of you haven't, so we're going to post it because it's cute.

Buddy: We hope you all have a chuckle from our Sunday Smile video.

Sam: Well, we had a chuckle, even if readers don't.

Buddy: Yes, but that was because Percy suggested the cats should get a pet mouse and you started running around howling, "Mouse? MOUSE? Where is it?  Get it out of here!"

Sam: Tell the truth, Buddy. That wasn't me shrieking. It was Jan.

Merci: Let's just watch the cat and mouse video, guys, and then take a Sunday snooze.

Sweet Daisy Pup

Hey, the cats had a turn with another Friday interview, so it's our turn.  What do you mean, who are we?  You don't recognize us in black and white?  We're Sam, Merci and Buddy, of course!  And have we got a sweet post for you today!

We just love a story with a happy ending.  This one is a true story about a rescued pup with a broken spine who could neither walk nor lift her head.  They call her "Daisy, the little pup who believed. "

This inspirational video had us smiling through tears.  We're sure you will be doing the same.

So grab some tissues and meet Daisy, our Sunday Smile for the week.  And have a great day.

A Marketable Skill

Hey, it's us, Merci, Sam and Buddy.  We have a canine athletic video for your Sunday Smile today.

What is a dog to do when there is no one to play ball with - canine or human?  Why, he plays catch by himself, of course!  And this dog in Japan has an interesting method of tossing and retrieving..

Yep, this guy is adept at entertaining himself.

And by the way, he's not a stray; he has a home. And a marketable skill.  He's definitely going to earn major bucks in the game of life.  :)

Mama Cat and Ducklings

Good morning, Cameron here.  You almost got to see my handsome physique 7 times in a row.  I clicked for five minutes before Blogger would download my photo and then they posted me in all my handsomeness 7 times. I feared you'd think me vain if I didn't delete at least one of them.

The rest of the household is sleeping but I'm awake so I might as well have some fun and do a Sunday Smile post while I wait on breakfast.

This is Mama Kitty and her 6 babies - 3 tiny kittens and 3 ducklings. I know you will enjoy this.

Sunday Smile with Cameron

Cameron
Good morning, Cameron here.  Excuse me a moment while I finish my treats.

Okay, thanks for waiting.  The Halloween giveaway ended at midnight last night.  We will post the winning name tomorrow.

I have a video for you today I just know will give you a Sunday Smile.  It's short but full of cute and adorable kittens.

I think this must be the P Family. - Panda, Paris, Pikachu, Peter, Pavel & Persey.

Enjoy the video and have a good Sunday.  I'm going to see if I can con some extra treats.

Merci and Cameron Sunday Smile

Merci:  Hey, Cameron, I wonder if our readers have had a bath today?  We dogs had one the other day and we're not too fond of them

Cameron:  We cats hide when you get a bath, just in case Jan gets carried away and wants to start on us.

Merci:  Well, we have two short bath stories for our readers today.  This first one is of two mini dachshunds who can't wait to run upstairs and jump into the bath.

Cameron:  Do you think they're just a wee bit out of their minds?

Merci:  No, Cameron, I think they have a personality disorder.  Or is that an identity crisis?  Anyway, they think they're otters.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Cameron: And for equal time, here's a kitty that enjoys a bath.Wonder what his phone number is in case I ever need a stand-in?

Teary Smiley Shadow Dancing

Hey, Micah here.  Have you seen Jan this morning?  She's late to breakfast.  That's not unusual.  By the time she washes up, hitches the team (walks the dogs), shovels the litter pans - um, I mean scoops the litter - sits down to the computer for "just a minute," it's usually noon.  But I'm hungry now.  Do any of you have some spare crumbs to tide me over till Jan reappears?

Well, while I'm waiting, I'll introduce you to a video that will make your humans both tear up and smile.  This is a Hungarian Shadow Dance Group's audition for Britain's Got Talent television show. They tell a short but true story.

And afterwards, you have my permission to take a long snooze on your human's pillow.  Have a smiling Sunday.

Honking for Seniors

Good morning, Cameron here.  Just finishing up one of the treats Jan passed out after breakfast.

I thought today would be a good day for a Sunday Smile for your humans.  I tested this video on our human and Jan laughed.  She said something about it only being funny because she wasn't there. I don't understand why she wouldn't want to be there.  It looks like those folks were having fun.  *snicker, snicker*

Enjoy the video and have a good day.

This Furry Plays Golf

Hey, Buddy here.  I'm scoring a treat.  Be right with you.  *Crunch, crunch*

Okay, thanks for waiting.  I have a funny video for you today.  We love any video of a young animal having a good time..  Be it elephant or fox. (Hint, hint.)

Oh, you must be psychic.  Yes, this is a video about a fox.  Enjoy another Sunday Smile.

Oh, and we keep forgetting to post this, but we won the I Could Chew on This and also I Could Pee on This books.  They were written by Francesco Marciulian.  The giveaway was held by Merlin, Gris Gris, Odin & Domino at Cat Wisdom 101.  Jan can't wait to read them.

Funny Farmers Rule

Excuse us while we finish breakfast and then we'll give you a Sunday Smile.  Okay, now we're done.

We have a funny video for you today.  It's a cat video but we live with cats, so we figure no one will notice we're dogs introducing a cat.  A bossy cat telling his humans not to raise a hand in his presence.  And he gets away with it.  He wouldn't dare do that around here or he'd get a big paw swat on the rump.  Dogs rule!

Buddy:  What was that, Percy?

Sam:  Percy said to move things along, he's getting bored.  And cats rule!

Merci:  Okay, I'm a female.  I can talk faster so I'll finish.  The Funny Farmers united rule ... er. rule something or other.  Enjoy the video.

Compilation of Cats

Hey, it's me, Cyndi.  It's been a while since I've had a chance to host a post on my own.  I sure hope you remember me.  Please excuse me a moment so I can scarf down these treats before Percy steals them.

I have another Sunday Smile for you today.  The video will make you laugh, but first I picked out a joke for Jan.  (She doesn't have an iPad so she likely won't get it.) This is why seniors still need newspapers.

I was visiting my daughter last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.

"This is the 21st century," she said. "We don't waste money on newspapers.  Here, use my I Pad."

I can tell you this:  that fly never knew what hit him.

UPDATE:  I just earned AsTheCrackerheadCrumbles included a link to JFF in today's A Sunday Drive . It's always nice to be thought of. Thanks, Jerry.

And now for the fun, a compilation of cats.  Enjoy.

Luke Boogies to the Beat

Oopsie.  This was supposed to self-publish at 5 am this morning but guess what?

Hey, it's me, little Luke, again.  I'm still here so Big Butt ... um, big Sam said it's okay for me to do another post.  It's kind of quiet around here, but I'm in the mood for some fast footwork to get the blood flowing.

Here is my pick of the day.  Dr. John and Jools Holland, the Boogie Woogie Twins.Woo hoo can they tickle those ivories.  And almost as fast as I can run.  Pull up a chair, shove your human in it, and give her a break.  Don't be surprised, though, if she pops out of the chair and does a fast shuffle.  (I figure all humans are as slow as Jan, thus the shuffle.)

Enjoy.  I will.  And then I'll need a nap.
