The Aggressive Fridge
Micah: Hey, it's me, the iron skillet sitter. We had a post planned for today but it gets written the night before and we had a sudden change of plans. Jan was cleaning the vegetable bins in the fridge when she was attacked. Yes, smacked on top of the head by an jealous shelf she didn't clean. Whacked hard. At present she is sitting in a chair with a frozen bag of green beans on her head. Marcus is in the kitchen growling at the fridge.
Cyndi: Why is he growling at the fridge? He already had his dinner.
Micah: He's practicing in case he doesn't get any breakfast tomorrow.
Cyndi: Leave it to Marcus to think first about his stomach.
Micah: Well, he's supposed to be Jan's protector and he feels he fell down on the job.
Cyndi: Yes, but who expects a refrigerator to be aggressive?
Micah: Obviously, not Jan!

New Pillows for Percy
Percy: It was nice of Jan to buy me my own pillows. These two are so nice and soft.
Cyndi: You are aware, aren't you, those are not pillows! Those are Jan's new slippers.
Percy: Slippers. Pillows. What's the difference. They are soft, padded and comfortable, and I have sweet dreams with my head on one.
Cyndi: Don't get too comfortable. Those slippers are so padded there isn't room for Jan's feet. Since putting her feet in them was the sole purpose of buying them, she will be returning them as soon as possible.
Percy: If she does, she'll have to return me with them.
Cyndi: That would make Micah very happy. Do you really want to make Micah happy?
Percy: Do you think if I leave them where Micah sleeps, Jan will return him with the slippers?
We are praying for those impacted by Hurricane Michael which lashed Florida so hard a couple of days ago and has traveled north as a tropical storm. It is hard to see the pictures and videos of homes and businesses destroyed, just as it was recently for Florence and all the other hurricanes and tornadoes that have done so much damage.
It was not as bad as expected when it arrived here Wednesday. A lot of rain and wind, tornado watches and warnings and a siren scare. We woke Thursday to a beautiful day, hoping all of you are safe.
Thank you to the friends and family who called or emailed yesterday to check on us.

Southern Dialect Goose
Marcus: Honk, honk, honk -
Cyndi: What's the matter, Marcus? Do you have a cold?
Marcus: No. I'm practicing my honks.
Cyndi: Oh, you're on the driving kick again and you're pretending to be a car horn?
Marcus: Of course not. All of you made fun of me when I insisted I can speak fluent goose. (Late for a Recital ) You insisted geese honk and don't have a second language, so I'm practicing my honking to see if they understand me any better. I doubt it, but I'm willing to try since we're going to have more geese than this arriving soon for the cold weather.
Cyndi: You do know today is Flashback Friday and you honking does not constitute a flashback?
Marcus: It's a flashback for me. I'm remembering all those great conversations I've had with geese.
Cyndi: And I'm remembering all the delusions you're posted about speaking geese ... er, goose. You know, bird! (Swiss Cheese Theory. Marcus Two Step. Mister I Speak Geese. A Honkless Holiday. Translating Goose to Dog. Giggle of Goose Gaggle. Marcus Speaks Geese.)
Marcus: Hey, thanks for gathering our conversations together so I can go back and review them. It will make it easier to compare results over time. I'll be very surprised if they can understand me when I honk, but if I work on my accent, it should work.
Cyndi: Of course, that's it! You have to honk in the same dialect as the arriving geese and most of them don't speak with a Southern accent.
Marcus: I'm glad you understand. The rest of the Funny Farmers think I'm off my trolley.
Cyndi: You speak geese with a Southern drawl. What's not to understand? **cough, cough**
Marcus: Are you okay? You haven't caught the cold I don't have, have you?
Cyndi: No, no, I'm fine, just have a goose feather tickling my funny bone.

Cyndi Was 13
Micah: Oh, no, not again!
Taylor: Oh, no, what again?
Buddy: Oh, no, we forgot Cyndi's birthday again.
Micah: This is becoming an annual mistake. Yesterday we were greeted on Facebook with this old memory from 2014 - Cyndi Turns 11.
Taylor: Oh, dear. Back in 2014, her birthday was posted a day late.
Buddy: And this year it's two days late. She turned 13 on the 21st. I'm too embarrassed to face her and admit I forgot again.
Micah: Wait! I know how to save the situation. We'll just re-post the old birthday post. It's still appropriate.
Buddy: Okay, here is Cyndi's flashback birthday post from 2014, when Cameron was still with us.
*************
PERCY: *slaps Cameron in forehead* Atttttttttgh! How stupid!
CAMERON: Hey, what did you do that for? I'm not stupid.
RUSTY: Did he really call you stupid, Cameron?
MARCUS: Yes, he did. I heard him. And he hit Cameron too.
MERCI: Yes, you did do those things, Percy. Why did you hit Cameron in the head?
PERCY: I suddenly realized we've been so busy we totally forgot about Cyndi's birthday yesterday.
BUDDY: But if you suddenly remember something you forgot, Percy, you're supposed to hit yourself in the head, not Cameron.
PERCY: Why would I want to hit myself in the head? That would be ... well, stupid.
MICAH: Never mind that now, guys. We really did forget all about Cyndi's birthday.
SAM: Cyndi, we'd like to apologize for being forgetful. You are very special to us so we got you something special.
CYNDI: Aw, thanks guys. I really ...
BUDDY: *whispers* Pssst, Percy, if we forgot her birthday, when did we get her a present?
PERCY: *whispers* Uh-oh, we forgot to ...
CYNDI: ...appreciate this empty box.
MERCI: It's not really empty, Cyndi. It's filled with ... with ....
CYNDI: Air?
MERCI: Love, Cyndi. It's filled with our love.
******************
Taylor: We don't even have a box for you this year, Cyndi, and we didn't realize the cake in the kitchen was for you, so we ... er, nibbled on it, but we are sincere in wishing you the best of everything for your special day, even if it was two days ago.
Cyndi: So I get a recycled birthday post, no cake, no party and no present?
Buddy: *clears throat* Yes, that about sums it up. But the greatest gift is love and we've got lots of that to give you.
Cyndi: Thank you. I appreciate that. Do you suppose you could put it all on an Amazon gift card for me?
Note: Today was going to be our Christmas post, but as you can see something came up and we had a change of plans. We will be posting it tomorrow instead.

Tuesday Friday Flashback
Buddy: Hey, Marcus, did you come up with a post for today?
Marcus: Me? I thought it was your turn.
Buddy: No, I did it the other day.
Marcus: You mean we don't have a post?
Buddy: No, not unless anyone wants to read about how you messed up and now we don't have one.
Marcus: It's not my fault. Jan's been hobbling and creaking, it's been hot and humid, and I've been sticking like velcro to Jan's legs because of the t-storms we've been having. When did I have time to think?
Buddy: How about when you were being an annoying jerk ... I mean an annoying brother ... pestering Percy yesterday.
Marcus: It's such fun to pester Percy. He's so funny when he threatens me with castration.
Buddy: I know what we can do. We can do a Tuesday Flashback.
Marcus: Isn't that supposed to be a Friday Flashback?
Buddy: Not if we publish it on Tuesday.
Marcus: Okay, it's worth a try.
Buddy: Back in 2011, we dogs were interviewed by Coffee with a Canine. We have new friends who have never read that interview.
Marcus: Hey, wait a minute! I wasn't even born in 2011.
Buddy: I know you weren't. Merci, Angel Sam and I were, though.
Marcus: Come to think of it, I haven't read it either. Where did you say I can find it?
Buddy: Coffee with a Canine.

Flashback Fun
CYNDI: Do you remember this picture? It was posted a year ago.
MARCUS: I know you are all thinking that I look guilty and I caused this accident, but if you remember (Revenge of the Furniture) I was totally and completely exonerated! Jan did it.
CYNDI: Of course she did.
MARCUS: No, Jan really did do it.
CYNDI: I know. I said, of course she did. Are you deaf?
MARCUS: No, but I thought you were being facetious.
CYNDI: You should get a poster made of this to hang on the wall. This is probably the only time in your life you were caught next to a disaster that you didn't create.
RUSTY: He's just a photo bomber. Always has to be in the picture. It's a good thing Jan isn't a photographer for the coroner's office. She would have hundreds of pictures of Marcus posing with a dead body.
BUDDY: I think you guys have forgotten the planned theme of our post today. It's about flashback fun. We also want to flashback to a cat named (Angel) Alex from the blog Feeling Beachie.
RUSTY: Lucy is the resident kitty now and back in 2012 her hu-mom, Hilary Grossman, published a book titled "Dangled Carat". Jan has wanted to read it ever since she first heard of it.
MARCUS: And then one day a couple of months ago, Hilary was giving away free copies of her book. Hey, that was right in our price range! So Jan "bought" it.
BUDDY: It was a fun read, so we thought we would share a little about the book with our readers since so many pet bloggers know Hilary.
CYNDI: You know how you read a whudunit and every time the detective thinks he has found the killer, there's a plot twist and you're left still wondering whudunit?
BUDDY: Well, this book is a "whendunit". You hope you know the couple will become engaged and marry but every time you think the question is about to be popped, it doesn't happen.
RUSTY: We guys applauded Marc's ability to stand strong and not commit, but the gals here were rooting for Hilary to capture that dangled carat.
BUDDY: Does she? We aren't giving away the ending.
CYNDI: Jan said she now knows how to tell true love - when a guy allows his gal to move her 500 pair of jeans and her shoe collection into his closet.
MARCUS: Fifty, Cyndi. Fifty pairs of jeans.
CYNDI: Okay, so I exaggerated a bit, but 500 sounded more romantic.
MARCUS: Not more romantic! More crowded.
RUSTY: Think about it, Cyndi. Forget the shoe collection, 500 pair of jeans wouldn't fit in this house! How would they fit in a closet?
CYNDI: Full of wrinkles?
MARCUS: I know you are all thinking that I look guilty and I caused this accident, but if you remember (Revenge of the Furniture) I was totally and completely exonerated! Jan did it.
CYNDI: Of course she did.
MARCUS: No, Jan really did do it.

Readers Weren't Born Yet
Percy: Here's my breakfast ... I mean, here's the singing and dancing Frostie.
Buddy: Percy's just kidding about breakfast. He already ate.
Cyndi: We've been reminiscing and thought we'd repeat an oldie but goodie post.
Marcus: It's a newbie to me. I wasn't even born yet.
Merci: And that's why we're repeating it.
Cameron: Yeah, 'cause all our readers weren't born yet.
Rusty: You might want to clarify that, Cameron, perhaps rephrase it.
Micah: Yes, surely, at least some of our readers were born before that posted in January of 2012.
Sam: It doesn't matter whether you were born before or after the post, stop by Percy Ignores Frostie. Frostie can really shake her feathers!

I Dare You
Flashback. Cotton had tortitude, an I-dare-you-to-try-it glare. She claimed this pet house Ginger Jasper sent us a few years ago and none of us dared argue with her. She and GJ are both over the bridge now. :(
