Senior Dreams and WBCL Contest

Cotton:
Well, I'm the senior Funny Farmer, so I was asked to introduce today's post. All right, I wasn't asked, I volunteered. Okay, Buddy insists I stop fudging. I got to the computer first.  But it's a subject close to my heart so I ran to the computer.  See, older pets can still run.

Since this is Adopt A Senior Pet Month, we have a senior video for you. Senior animals make great pets but they are often overlooked in shelters. We didn't realize we're considered senior by age 8. Don't mention that in Merci's earshot. She might be 8 or 9 but she thinks she's still a puppy. Besides, she has to keep up with Buddy and Sam's longer legs and bounding energy.

What we don't understand, though, is why the senior videos for this month all seem to feature dogs.Where are the senior cats? Well, we finally found one that includes kitties.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

And we don't want to forget to post the good news on World's Best Cat Litter. It's now available in Target stores. For a limited time all 8 pound bags purchased at Target will have an instantly redeemable $3.00 coupon.

And WBCL is hosting a contest which will run through November 22rd. You can enter one of 3 ways - or all 3. Three winners will receive all these prizes: a year's supply of WBCL, some WBCL goodies, and a $200 Target gift card. Winners will be randomly drawn on November 23rd.

You can find the details on the WBCL blog Clearing the Air.  Stop by and check them out.

  2. Cotton - where does this silly info come from - you aren't even (whispers) middle aged let alone
    senior.
We suspect this rubbish comes from the humans - take no notice of them they don't know what they are talking about (or if teen age grunting about)!!

  3. As the senior cat at our house I has to say I can do anything the younger cats can do I can even out run them. I still love to play and explore. And as Mom says us senior cats & dogs or usually far better behaved then puppies and kitties, so we don't understand why so many people overlook them. ~Socks

  4. Oh, I LOVE seniors! Animals more than people. My dog before Layla was rescued as a senior; he was about 13 when I adopted him. Plus, he was deaf, so he was doubly hard to place. Ha!

The next dog I get will also most likely be a senior rescue.

  8. I didn't realize that at 7 furries were considered seniors. I think the most correct word would be mature. I will have to tell Olive, my niece, that she was a senior when she was adopted. She now lives in Italy. I will purrr hard that all the seniors needing furever homes will find one this November. That is so nice of you to get the word out on this.
