Miss Pat is Having a Party

Merci:  Today we have a special post.

Percy:  Yes, we have a surprise for a special human.

Cameron:  We do?  How come I wasn't notified?

Sam:  You were.  Didn't you read the memo Jan wrote last week?

Cameron:  No, Cyndi deposited a big hairball on my copy.  I couldn't read it.

Cyndi:  Sorry about that, Cameron.  You could have borrowed my copy.  I left it ... hmmm, where did I leave it?

Micah:  You left it beside the telephone and it fell into the water bowl below.  Jan threw it away.

Rusty:  Mine must have fallen behind the desk while I was napping.  What did it say?

Buddy:  It said: We will be having a special post on Saturday, September 14, in honor of our friend Miss Pat's houseguest, an exchange student from Brazil.  It will be Maria's 16th birthday and Miss Pat is having a party for her.

Sam:  So why weren't we invited to the party?

Micah:  Miss Pat is probably afraid you'd eat all the food.

Sam:  But I'd never!  Oh, maybe I did once when I was a pup but I have willpower now.

Percy:  And you've been hiding that willpower where?

Rusty: Stop arguing.  The question is, why weren't we invited?

Merci:  Because it's in Arizona and  Jan couldn't afford to ship us across the country?

Cameron:  No, that's why we would have had to decline, not why we weren't invited.

Cyndi:  Maybe Miss Pat doesn't have enough room in her house for all of us plus all those teenagers coming to Maria's party.

Buddy:  Teenagers?  Miss Pat is having a houseful of teenagers to the party?  Good thing we weren't invited.  We would never be able to get in our Saturday naps.  Thank you for not inviting us, Miss Pat.  We'll just send the card Jan made for us.

Birthday, Contest, TNR Seminar

Today is Gracie's 4th birthday and she's having a party at the Tabby Cat Club.

Happy Birthday, Gracie.  We're grateful for your friendship and look forward to helping you celebrate many more birthdays.

Have you gone by Fur Everywhere and joined the "Name Our (New) Blog Contest" yet?  Well, what are you waiting for?  We made a submission.  You're next.

We're including this poster from Toby Franks for those of you who live in the Akron, Ohio area.  This is a good chance to learn from experienced TNR (Trap Neuter Return) trappers about this humane and effective method for controlling feral cat populations.

It's a PNG file and will supposedly by easy to post to Facebook, so feel free to print ... copy ... share the flyer.

A Scaredy Halloween and Flying Fur

Hey, Micah here with today's post.  Before I forget, Happy Halloween from all of us.  The Funny Farmers don't have any costumes this year.- again.  Jan claims her fingers are frozen.  Buddy wants to know how this relates to her brain . We all think if she exercised her brain making us photoshopped costumes, her fingers would thaw out.  Guess we'll just have to learn how to take our own photos.

But since she's not cooperating, I'll just have to post this photo I came across of last year's entry in Hansel's contest - Jan the bag lady.  Maybe she'll be sufficiently embarrassed to help us next year.

This is my award for entering the Tabby Cat Club's What are you Ascared of recently.

Last night as Jan was trying to fall asleep, I head-butted her, licked her hands, and rubbed my cold, wet nose on her arm.  She was pleasantly surprised I was being so affectionate.  And then she was even more surprised a short while later when the cat fight broke out. Yep, that wasn't me being friendly.  Percy managed to get himself closed in the bedroom and there was fur flying again.

The fights are getting shorter.  I'm not that undernourished, skinny guy that arrived here over a month ago. Percy and I are closer to the same weight now, so it's a more evenly matched boxing round.  I'd still rather live alone in the bedroom, though.  If Percy wants to beat me up,the others probably do too.

You're all invited to the Halloween party at the Tabby Cat Club, so be sure to drop by.

And Cousin Charlotte is hosting her first Halloween party at Angel Momo's blog.

Happy Un-birthday, Pip

Hooray, it's Mr. Pip's UN-birthday today!  His birthday was actually on September 11th but what kind of a surprise is a party on the day?  hehehe.

Frankie & Ernie said everybuddy has to bring a covered dish.  Here's ours.

Oh, wait, were we supposed to put something IN the covered dish?

Well, we don't want to miss out so we went shopping and fixed  special treat for Pip. We'll just put it in the covered dish.

 Roast chicken.  Yummy.

And everybuddy has to bring a birthday cake.

Pip, we love you and wish you the happiest of UN-birthdays ever!.

Stop by and visit the UN-birthday boy at Pip is in the Game blog.

He's going to be so surprised when he finds he's having a surprise party.  And Frankie Furter, Mayor of Blogville, will present him with a key to Blogville.  What an honor!

Buddy's Surprise and Sunny

Yep, we love our Buddy and he wasn't forgotten yesterday.  Heeheehee.  But he didn't know that.

We were shocked to read Sunny of Mommy's Little Fat Boy's blog last night.  He died November 17th, only a couple of days after a cancer diagnosis. Sunny had not blogged in over a year but we had hoped he would return to blogging one day.  We all know how hard it is to lose a furry, so we hope you will stop by and leave an encouraging comment for his mom.

Well, this post was scheduled last night to auto post at 9:30 am this morning.  It's now 11:37 and when we checked, it was no longer scheduled.  Guess the surprise was on us.  Since it's already late, we're going to add one more item.

Blogger Buzz has a warning to be careful about decorating your blogs with animated accessories. It could get you hijacked, if not now, down the road.  Be careful and have a safe blogging holiday season.  .

Clyde Reunions and Invitation

You can imagine the sadness of a ten-year-old boy who has grown up with a cat named Clyde, and then the 11-year-old cat disappears for 12 days and the boy thinks he will never see Clyde again. This is their reunion.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

There was an earlier reunion between Clyde and his German Shepherd friend Triton. This video was taken shortly afterward.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

It appears it was a very happy day at Clyde's home.

In case you haven't heard yet, you are all invited to a party.

The Ladies of Autumn have pleasure in inviting all to a Halloween Party on Oct 31 at Castle Felinestein.  Members and guests are welcome to submit pictures or graphics of themselves, dressed or otherwise to momoandco AT gmail DOT com for inclusion in the party post.

Fawn Rescue and Asta's Birthday

One morning there was a deer in a yard frantically looking for something in a pile of rocks that form a wall on the property line. When the owners first went out, they didn't see anything but the deer wouldn't leave the yard.

Later they went out to the area the deer was concentrating on and heard a fawn crying. They moved some large rocks and saw the fawn was trapped. The large boulders were too heavy to move.

They called the fire department and a team came out and moved the rocks with the Jaws of Life, then reached in and pulled out the fawn.

This is a neat video and we'd like to send  kudos to the B Shift team of the Clark County Fire District 3 for reuniting the fawn with its mother.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Today is Asta's 5th birthday.  We are trying to get to the party on time with some friends but we're stuck in a taxicab traffic jam.

Graphic by Gracie, Socks & Jan's Funny Farm

Left to right: 1st row - Ollie, Gracie, Opus( back seat), Momo, Karl
2nd row - Rusty, Merci, Cyndi, Buddy, Ruis (back seat), Socks
3rd row - Cameron, Sam, Cotton, Percy

We hope this traffic jam clears up soon. Buddy says he's tired of climbing in and out of the cab to pee.

Don't miss Asta's 5th birthday party.  She's having a commentathon and will donate 50 cents a comment. She will draw a winner's name from the comments who will get to pick which rescue/shelter will receive her donation.

Just a reminder that Gracie's mom has sinusitis and pneumonia in one lung and can use your prayers.  Despite her illness, she worked on the above graphic for Asta's party..

Sweet 16 Opus and Sweet Pea

Today is Opus' 16th birthday. Since he's been under the weather a bit lately, it's going to be a low key party, held at Gracie's blog instead of Opus & Ollie's.

Graphic by Asta

Opus & Ollie popped in for a short time yesterday and almost spoiled the surprise but quick thinking Gracie convinced him we're preparing for Socks' birthday. We hope Opus doesn't think we've all forgotten about his special day.

Graphic by Gracie

Because of Opus’ recent health, special attention has been paid to the food prepared for the party. Olive (left) is overseeing the cooks: Gracie, Karl, & our own Samaritan.

Graphic by Gracie.

Surprise, Opus! Happy Birthday!  We're taking him a present, a warm blankie for the coming winter cold, but we couldn't wrap it because Percy and Cameron got into a shredding contest and we didn't have any extra wrapping paper on hand.

Since you've all been given an invitation, go on over to help Opus celebrate his special day. This is the address where the party is being held - Gracie's blog.

Sweet Pea over at Mr. Pip's was very sick and had to be helped to the bridge yesterday, so we made a badge for him.. They lost Buddy less than a week ago, so this is a very sad time for them.

Adoptions, Buddy and Opus

September 17 - 25 is Petfinder.com's Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week.

We hope you will open your heart to special needs pets.  Adopt the black dog or cat that is overlooked and often not adopted. Adopt the blind , the deaf, the disabled, the FIV positive, the old (even the elderly) or the much-maligned pit bull ...

They might be "different" but they can and will love and appreciate you as much as any other dog or cat would. Dare to think outside the box (doghouse or litterbox) and save a life. The pet you pick will be grateful for life!

Buddy is a feral cat that disappeared for 2 years but suddenly reappeared with a neck wound that Mr. Pip's mom wanted to get treated.  Unfortunately, when she trapped him and took him to the vet, she learned his wound was much worse than thought and Buddy's pain was gently ended.  Buddy was loved and his life mattered, so we made him a memorial badge.  You can read his story on Mr. Pip's blog.

If you posted one of the earlier invitations, please exchange it for this updated one.  The party will be held at Gracie's blog.

Hey, Cameron here with a PCA - Party Celebration Announcement - for tomorrow.

Halloween, Skeeter & Olli

Well, Gracie and Hugo couldn't wait so they started their Halloween party a bit early.  Be sure to stop by and join the fun.  The decorations are great and the food looks yummy.  Well, some of it looks sort of scary, but close your eyes and it should go down easy.  See you there.

But before you go, we hope you will take a moment to stop by these two blogs if you haven't already and leave a kind comment.
We are sad it's been confirmed Olli is the black and white kitty that was recently killed by a car.  His family at Luna Luzie and Olli. miss him very much.

And The~Kool~ Kitty~ Krew.said good-bye to Skeeter today, as she was helped to the bridge.

Thank you, KC, for the 2 graphics of Olli and Skeeter posted above.

Andy, Skeeter's boyfriend, made a memory button for anyone who wants to post it on their blog.  So feel free to grab this graphic.

We send purrs and tail wags to both families.

Merci Meets Rhino

Hi, Merci here.Well, I didn't exactly meet a rhino, but I thought you might like to see something different today.  So we have a  video of a hungry baby rhino having breakfast. Or lunch.  Or maybe a snack. Buddy and Sam are drooling at the sight of food.

Stephen Fry hand feeds the baby at a heavily guarded rhino reserve in Kenya.  This little one is fed six pints of milk, five times a day.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Tomorrow is Halloween.  Don't forget Gracie's party

It is also the last day you can enter the Iams Home 4 Holidays Blog Hop.

Jazper Kitty

Many of you know Mo of Purrchance to Dream. He recently closed his store The Wren's Nest and unfortunately his store mascot has been unable to integrate with his housecats. So he has made the very hard decision to find Jazper kitty a home of his own. He is trying to do it with humor, but we don't think he's really laughing about it.

Isn't that a handsome face? You can read about Jaz on his own blog. http://tabbyjazper.blogspot.com/ His contact information is there. So if you live anywhere in or near the southeastern Michigan area and can possibly give Jaz a home, contact Mo.

Thank you, Rocky & Bear, for the tribute to Crystal. You are so good about remembering those who leave for the bridge. We are very sad that Deetz's family lost young Sharkie.

We have a Super Bowl Party invitation in our sidebar. Gracie has invited you and us to her place for an all day party Sunday, February 7. Be sure to put it on your calendar. And please remind us. You know how forgetful every one of us in this house are.

Gracie's Birthday and Awards

Gracie is turning one on the 15th and every kit, pup and furry is invited to her party. So please put this on your calendar and be sure to stop by her party on Friday. She might be young but she was smart enough to pick great parents. And has already shouldered a lot of responsibility running the auctions to help Fiona cat with her medical bills. Her address is Gabby Gracie. See you there.

Albert the Cat recently gave us the Honest Scrap Award. We would like to thank him. And send him a bribe ...uh, a bushel of fresh prawns for his generosity. As Albert stated, ."Now, if any of the above have won this prestigious award before, then don't worry. After all, Walt Disney won 26 Oscars, and it didn't do him any harm, did it?" We did post this award a few months ago, so we won't pass it on this time. But watch out, Walt Disney, we only have 25 more Oscars ... we mean, Honest Scrap Awards to go to beat your record!

And thank you, Fuzzy Tales, for the Superior Scribble Award. If anyone has every seen Jan's handwriting -- well, scribble is a fair and honest evaluation. We, on the other paw, are precise and legible when we are forced to pen anything the old fashioned way. .

This award was created by The Scholastic Scribe to celebrate their 200th post, in 2008. To read about the Superior Scribbler Award, go to their award information page.

Of course there are rules to follow with this award:

1. Each Superior Scribbler (SS) must pass the Award on to 5 deserving blogger friends.

2. Each Superior Scribbler must link the author and name of the blog from whom he/she received the award.

3. Each Superior Scribbler must display the award on his/her blog and link to the post which explains the award.

4. Each Superior Scribbler is asked to visit the post which explains the award and add his/her name to the Mr. Linky List.

5. Each Superior Scribbler must post these rules on his/her blog.

After some discussion we have picked 5 deserving blogger friends on which to bestow this award.

Brrrrr, Halloween

Happy Halloween!

Well, here we are. Finally. We're in London celebrating Halloween.

Our photos (2) by Sassy

Sassy's business card in case you want to make an appointment for next year's costume.

We sure hoped these costumes would be warm but we're still cold! And hanging around a spooky old London tower isn't helping any.

We're here at Asta, Eric and Lacie's Halloween party. There's so many attending, we figure they won't notice if we're all dressed alike.

Jan said there isn't any costume money in our budget, so she sent Sassy old sheets to make all our costumes. She told us to be sure to bring them home so she can hang them in the windows to help keep out a little of the cold. Brrrrr. We can't imagine how these flimsy things will help, but we are not to return home without them, so if you're at the party too, please, please, please don't let us leave without them!

Perhaps we had better find Sassy, Opus, Momo and some familiar faces. Oh, there's Socks, Scylla & Charybdis. They'll be sure to remind us.

Have a great day!

Morning After and Jessica

As you can see, we all had a whooping good time at Karl's blogoversary lizard BBQ yesterday. Everyone there had a blast. (Oooh, shouldn't even mention the word blast today!)

We are really, really, really hoping Jan doesn't see this picture today or she'll yell at us for making such an awful mess for Karl's butler to clean up, and we just couldn't bear the noise today. Maybe in a day or two?

Right now, we need to go find some bags of frozen peas and whatever in the freezer to use for ice bags. Then we can eat the contents. Maybe some veggies will help us recover. One thing we learned yesterday, don't eat too many BBQ'd lizards at one time.

******************
And on a somber note, Mama Jessica has been missing for 24 hours and her kitty babies need her. Click on the photo to visit her blog.

Karl's Lizard BBQ

Today is the big day, Karl's first blogoversary party, and we popped over to help him celebrate with a lizard barbecue. What a blast! This is our first taste of lizard and we can see why Daisy is so crazy about it.

While everyone else is standing in line for seconds on lizard, we decided to take advantage of the empty hot tub. What luxury! Too bad we can't all fit in it at once.

Samaritan and Buddy wanted to dive in together but we talked them out of it. It would be too embarrassing to have everyone watch them empty the hot tub after their combined weight hit the water and created a mini tsunami. Here are Cyndi and Percy showing the big guys how to properly enjoy a hot tub.

For entertainment, we have the famous #1 cat Mariachi band "Los Gatos" with featured dancer Charybdis and guest Mariachis Momo and Socks. You have got to stop by for this. They are fantastic.

And more entertainment by Los Gatos...

Karl gathered us all up and had his butler take a group photograph. We aren't even going to try to explain who all 36 are individually, but we hope you will visit each blog listed below to read their party posts and see their photos.
