Today is the ten-year anniversary of 9-11. We would like to honor all those who lost their lives that day - civilians in the twin towers, passengers and personnel on the four airplanes, firemen, police officers, port authority, Pentagon workers, etc - as well as the thousands of rescue workers - human and canine - who worked tirelessly under intense and highly emotional conditions.
Our tribute is short. We hope you will take a moment to watch the video.
If the video doesn't play, click here.
Budweiser filmed this commercial as a tribute and only aired it once. No words or description are necessary.
Watching it always makes us teary.
We haven't seen this before - it's very touching. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSS remembers the day vividly, as if it was only last week. She came out of the darkened lecture hall and was confronted by a whole lot of people crowding in front of an usually ignored TV screen in the hallway. There was no movement or chattering. Everyone was rooted to the ground, dumbfounded in horror and wished it was only a practical joke, only that it wasn't.
Purrs to all those affected by acts of terrorism in our world.
I had never seen this before either.
ReplyDeleteSo poignant.
Thank you for sharing
((((hugs))))
That's a great video. We will never forget that day.

Our mom says she remembers seeing this. It made her tear up when she watch it now.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. We will never forget.
ReplyDeleteIt still makes us teary-eyed, too. Thanks for sharing the video.
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
Wow.
ReplyDeleteThis is new to us too.
Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you also for the memory post of Cathy.
She was mom's phone friend and a most caring woman. We know she is pain free now, and probably stretched out under a whole pile of cats!
We are purring for peace today! We remember all those lost.
ReplyDeleteThat was a beautiful video. Although I wasn't around yet, my Dad and Mom were and they told us all about it. We shall always, always remember.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that. Our mom had never seen it. A moving tribute.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post! We will remember!
ReplyDeletethank you for remembering- we remember with you.

That is beautiful. And we wish we could say more, but too many emotions get in the way. We hope you understand. Today is just a teary day.
ReplyDelete(((hugs)))
this was new to us as well, *tear*
ReplyDeleteThat was new to us too! Very moving and a fitting tribute to all those who were lost and also those left behind who suffer still today x
ReplyDeleteI too had missed the airing of that commercial - it was certainly well done.
ReplyDeletePrayer and Purrs for those who gave so much.

That is a very touching video. Everyone is in our thoughts today.
ReplyDeleteWe shall never forget that day. I forget my name sometimes, but NOT that day.
ReplyDeleteAmerica will always be #1!
FWIW, Budweiser ran this, or a very similar ad at least once today during the football pregame. I didn't notice it in time to be sure if was the exact same ad or not.
ReplyDeleteThat commercial makes the Human leaky too.
ReplyDeleteIt was a sad day the Human will remember forever. We are purraying for a better tomorrow.
Prayers to all those families
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
We also have never seen this commercial. We love the Budweiser commercials where they honor someone or something. They are always so touching. Thank you for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteCody and Gracie
This is a first for us too. I love the lighting they used in this clip... Thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute with us :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing. We remember.
ReplyDeleteThat commercial touched so many hearts around the world, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThey aired that commerical again, only once last night during SNF. I had not seen it before, but I thought they had made it for the 10th anniversary when it came on. I thought it was so moving. IN fact Verizon also had a ad on last night which was so uplifting too, I thought I would go and see if it's in you tube.
ReplyDeleteWe really thought the coverage we saw on this 10th anniversary was very well done. But we worry too, because we know as time goes on there will be more people who will not have even been born in 2001 and for them the horror will only be what they have seen on TV or read in a book. It will not be a first hand experience, and it will fade into history.
We hope that is not what happens, but it worries us that the future generation will not see it for what it was.

I am having a TERRIBLE time getting my comments to "take"
ReplyDeleteTBT here: I am a bit stunned. I did not see it originally, but I wish I had. I was a bit ambivalent on first view, too. But it being shown once, that makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteThere must have been a lot of thought and debate at Budweiser about it. They took a chance, and (I think) an honest caring one. I think they did well...
