Nala, Cloon & Cotton, Pike Friends

It is amazing what a little kindness from rescuers can often accomplish. Nala the pit bull went from terrified to cuddly in a couple of hours with patience and gentle touch for her heart and some food for her tummy. She's now in foster care and needs a home.

Clooney has posted the conclusion to his and Cotton's Harley ham picnic adventure.  They sure packed a lot of fun and travel into one day.

We want to ask our readers for a big favor. We know you get tired of voting daily for various organizations but if you aren't already voting for another one on the Pepsi Refresh Project for a $50,000 grant, please consider voting for Friends of Pike County Animals. The animals they are working to help are our neighbors -  the next county north.

Pike County, Georgia has no animal control and no shelter. Friends of Pike County Animals (FPCA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (currenlty seeking 501 (c) 3 status) The FPCA has been working hard for some time and are making a difference. A grant could help them take a bigger step forward.

You can vote for them at Create an animal adoption & education center in rural Pike County, GA.

Or you can go to the FPCA website and click on the vote widget.

Many of you have already signed up with Pepsi for prior voting. All you have to do is to click on Vote for this Idea button. Another window will open. You can use your Facebook signin if that will make it easier for you. But we just sign in directly using our email address and password. Please take a minute to vote. And bookmark it so you can vote daily.

Also, we'd appreciate it if you would pass this on and ask your friends to vote. We all know how important it is that any community's animals have an advocate.

  14. We saw that movie abouts Nala the other day and my heart just about burst for her that she's safe now. My mom says that she wishes everybuddy who was skeered of pit bulls could watch that movie and see how even though she was so skeered at first, she found it in her heart to trust humans again. Cuz that's the true pittie nature right there.

I sure hope she gets a furever home that will spoil her rotten very, very soon.
