Shark Attack and Sam

Buddy:  First thing on our agenda today is to sing.  Are you are ready?  Falalalala.

Buddy:  Happy Birthday to Sam.  Owooooo!
              Happy Birthday to Sam.  Owooooo!
Happy Birthday dear weird hat.  Owooooo!
              Happy Birthday to Sam.  Owooooo!

Sam:  Thanks, guys ... I think.

Percy:  Uh, what was that?  Did you actually sing "dear weird hat" to Sam?

Buddy:  What's wrong with that? He does have a weird hat for every occasion.

Percy:  I guess you aren't aware that Sam's hats aren't any weirder than you howling " Owooooo!" at the end of every line?

Buddy:  Are you criticizing my singing now?  I am a hound, you know.

Percy:  With all those "Owooooos" it would be impossible to forget.  Let's continue our post while Sam cuts the cake.

Sam:  Hey, while you guys have been arg - um, discussing this, I have received a birthday card from our friends at Love is being owned by a husky.  Thanks, Mika, Lexus and Koda.

Buddy:  For those of you who have not seen this video yet, you are in for a big Sunday Smile.  Maybe even a chuckle.  Or a guffaw.

Sam:  This is one determined dachshund!

Merci:  Now this is what you call compacting a toy, if not completely "deading" it.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Cyndi:  It's Black and White Sunday, so  we have a B&W pic for you.

Rusty:  Here is an old photo of Buddy and I sitting companionably side by side looking through the back screen.

Cameron: Those were the days when there was actually grass growing back there in the dog pen.

Micah:  Does any cat know how we can get grass to grow back there again?  Last year someone used a weed eater in our pen and TOTALLY killed all the grass and any more our house is filthy from all the mud and dirt tracked and blown in. It also keeps putting out the pilots on our space heaters.

Percy:  Even the computer fills with dirt and Jan can't keep it clean.  There has to be something that would cover the dirt in the pen!  It has to survive the dogs.

Marcus:  I guess this leaves me to tell you we're joining Black & White Sunday co-hosted by Dachshund Nola  and Golden Sugar.   http://dachshundnola.blogspot.com/        http://www.sugarthegoldenretriever.com/

Do Not Kick the Bucket

Buddy:  Ah, those were the days. Nothing to do but gaze upon our kingdom.

Rusty:  Yes, we all used to do a lot of this and we will again this summer.

Buddy:  Rusty, we look the same in sepia, yet you're a red/orange tabby and I'm a 2-tone brown hound.

Rusty:  You're actually 3-tone now.  Your face is white.

Buddy:  I know.  Age is creeping up on me, yet we're less than a year apart in age.

Rusty:  Must be the genes.  Guess I got lucky.  I was born a cat with good genes.

Buddy:  Well, whoever Genes is, he sure missed me.  I must have been taking a leak when Genes came around and handed out the good stuff.

Rusty:  Don't worry, Buddy.  It all evens out in the end.  Sooner or later, we all kick the bucket.

Buddy:  No, don't kick the bucket! Jan got angry when Crystal kicked the bucket a few years ago.  Especially since it was full of dirty water from mopping the floors.  It flooded the kitchen floor and made a real mess.

Rusty:  It means ... I meant ... well, sooner or later we'll be joining all those who came before us.

Buddy:  You mean we'll see Grayce, Jenny, Crystal and Cotton again?

Rusty:  Yes.  Eventually the entire Funny Farmers Writing Club will be together again.  You'll have a great reunion and those of us who weren't born when the club formed will get to meet those who paved the way for us to blog.

Buddy:  Well, I hope we won't be meeting in a bathtub again. It was a tight fit even then.

Rusty:  I've heard about those middle of the night meetings in the bathtub.  Some of you have grown since then and the group has gained new members. We'll need an empty swimming pool - at the very least.

Buddy:  This sepia photo has made us nostalgic.I'm glad we are posting it.  It's brought back a lot of good memories.

We're joining Ruckus the Eskie for the Sepia Saturday blog hop. Come join him.

Stunning DJCK

Rusty:  Welcome to another Funny Farmer Feline Friday.

Cameron: Even if your weather is miserable, you are sure to enjoy today's interview.

Percy:  Yes, our special guest is Cathy Keisha, the cat with 'tude that will make you grin.

Cyndi:  Cathy Keisha is well-known around the blogosphere, as well as Twitter.

Micah:  You can read and enjoy her story, Cathy Keisha ... DJCK is in da House, exclusively at Mousebreath, the ezine written especially for cats, by cats and for cat lovers.

Percy:  Hey, we had a wonderful surprise this morning.  M.K. Clinton gave us the Sunshine Award.  Imagine that.  And on a cold, rainy day too.  This sunshine sure feels good.  Thank you so much - and for including us in such good company with the other recipients.

Cyndi:  And since we're so forgetful, we decided we better post it before the sunflower dies of old age because we didn't read our To Post file again.  *sigh*  .

Micah:  As usual, we're running way behind schedule and Jan is telling us we better hurry and finish because she has things to do.

Rusty:  We had to sit up with her until after midnight last night because she was working on a project she couldn't shut down until after it finished.

Cameron:  And that was just Part A.  There's Part B through Part Tearing-Out-Her-Hair.  That doesn't sound like much fun, so we're glad all we have to do is keep her company and plug our ears.

Percy:  Oh, by the way, we had an email this morning from a human friend named Marty.  He read our Thursday "A Life of Crime"  post where Marcus ate/shredded Jan's dishtowel.  He said he doesn't think it was Marcus' fault either.  He thinks it was the San Andreas fault. I have a sneaky suspicion he's trying to shift the blame from Jan (in the end, it's always her fault). We're going to have to check out this San Andreas.  He must get into more trouble than Jan does.

It's also the day for Rascal and Rocco's Pet Parade blog hop, which we help co-host with Bionic Basil.

There are no rules.  Tell all your friends. You don't have to be a cat.  Any blogger can join us - cat, rat, dog, miniature pig, even a human -  so you have no excuse. Also, you'll want to stop by Rascal & Rocco's to find out if you are this week's Featured Blogger.

A Life of Crime

Cameron:  Boy, are you guys in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!  That was Jan's dish towel.

Sam:  Not me!  I had nothing to do with this atrocity.  This is purely on the menace Marcus.

Marcus:  Are you sure I did this?  I don't recognize it.

Merci:  How could anyone recognize it?  It didn't look like that originally.

Marcus:  Well, if no one recognizes it, there's no problem, is there?

Rusty:  Oh, yes, there will be a big problem when Jan sees it..

Sam:  Do you know how to sew, Marcus?  Perhaps you could sew it together and Jan won't even notice.

Marcus:  Isn't sewing a woman's work?  How about you, Cyndi, can you sew?

Cyndi:  I can shred with my claws, but I can't sew.  Perhaps it's time you learn.

Marcus:  Well, perhaps it's time Jan learns to not use a dishtowel as a napkin when she's eating barbecued chicken wings!  It was just too tempting.  I was hungry and I couldn't help myself.

Buddy:  Oh, Marcus, you are a pup after my own heart.  You can be a real pain, but you're a true Mini-Me and have such potential.

Sam:  Actually, Marcus, if you want to live a life of crime, you need to learn to eat ALL the evidence.  That's what I do and then Jan assumes she's misplaced whatever is missing.

Micah:  You mean like the towel you ate the other day and then vomited up on the carpet covered in half-digested food?  Yeah, that really worked.

Sam:  Okay, so one time ... a couple of times the evidence has regurgitated.  I'm getting older and I can't keep my plunder down like I used to.  But you're young.  You can eat anything.

Merci:  Hey, guys, this is supposed to be a Thankful Thursday post.  You've gotten off the subject.  What are you thankful for today?

Sam:  I'm thankful I'm not the one responsible for this.

Marcus:  I'm thankful Jan hasn't seen this yet.  Buddy, help me hide it!

Percy:  I'm thankful these guys are not blood relatives of mine!
