Kodak and Talking TomCat

Hey, this is Cotton. I have a fun video today but first I need to share some bad news.

Our old friend Kodak of Kodak and 3-Perf went to the bridge yesterday. He was 15 years old, a diabetic and just diagnosed with lymphoma in his kidneys, stomach and lymph nodes. We are sad to say good-bye but we're relieved he didn't linger and suffer. A hug, purrs and tail wags for his grieving family.

We would have waited for KC of the CB to make him a graphic but we need to post now so we made a quick graphic.  It's 250w x 300 h.  Sidebar or post size, so feel free to use it if you'd like to.

This is a Talking TomCat iPhone application video for those of you who have an iPhone. We think the application is cute except we do not agree with including the whapping/falling down part. It's cute to watch him repeat what is said, or for the user to stroke him to hear him purr, or to feed him milk, but we don't think any application that includes any type of violence - even mild violence - should be sold.

But basically, we wonder why anyone would want to use such an application. It must be for those who have too much time on their hands. Those who don't blog, aren't hooked on Facebook or Twitter, or ... Wait. Maybe it's a conversation starter for shy people waiting on a bus or standing in a long line at the checkout counter?

We don't have to worry about it. Jan doesn't have an iPhone so if we hadn't seen this video, we wouldn't even know the Talking TomCat application exists. And if we didn't make this post, you probably wouldn't either.

  1. I don't understand it either? I guess people just create things like that, just because they can!!

  4. I guess some people have nothing better to do with their time. They must be very bored, sad individuals.

  11. We are so sorry to hear about your friend Kodak! :*(
Mama heard about that Tom Cat thing. She might be getting a smart phone, but she says she probably won't get that app because she has enough work already taking care of her REAL pets! But we agree, why would hitting a cat (even a pretend one) be considered FUN?
