Sam 's News

Yes, this is me, Sam, and I am trying hard to smile, but I don't even want to look at the camera since it's so very boring around here. And now we're expecting a winter storm so if the electricity goes out, we will really be bored!

See, it has been an unusually cold winter so far and we've had a hard time getting Jan to stick her nose out the door to let us walk her.And she's been hogging the computer! So all we've had to do is sleep, eat and watch tv. There isn't much of a selection since we can only get one major network and one oldies station. So we furries are kind of in the doldrums.

We woofies have decided we'd like some TV stands to hold our water bowls and snacks while we play with the channel changer for our whole two stations. A friend just sent over a big bag of dog biscuits their dog wouldn't eat, so we're all set to have a biscuit party with new tv stands when they arrive.

Percy, what do you mean we can't have any tv stands unless we order some extra for you kitties? You can share ours.  Just bring your own drinks and snacks.

Uh-oh, Cotton informs me those are tv stands, not tv trays, and are actually meant to hold a tv, not tv snacks. Hmmmm, maybe we need to reconsider this and find something we can all agree on. What a shame. I was looking forward to dining in style while pigging out.

We'll have to get back to you again on this.

Meanwhile, we have a fun video for you. We don't have enough computer time any more to search for videos very often on our own, so we're thankful to have friends who help keep us laughing. You'll love this sled stealing dog.

Sadly, Golden Boy Luke lost his battle and was sent on his journey to the bridge yesterday. He was loved by many and will be missed by his family and friends.

Our neighbors in Pike County, Georgia have no animal control and no shelter. Friends of Pike County Animals (FPCA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (currently seeking 501 (c) 3 status) We hope you can spare a minute - daily until January 31 - to vote for FPCA for the Pepsi $50,000 grant.

You can vote for them at Create an animal adoption & education center in rural Pike County, GA.

And please pass this on and ask your friends to vote. We all know how important it is that any community's animals have an advocate. They are not a well-known organization with lots of followers so they will need your help to win.

  1. We hope the storm passes you by without dumping too much snow or freezing rain or whatever is forecast. Spring can come any time! And we'll cross our paws the electricity stays on too.

We're sorry about Luke, didn't know him but will leave our purrs of condolence for his humans.
