Happy New Year 2010
We wish all our friends a very prosperous and healthy 2011.
2010 has been a year of mixed emotions. We have lost so many blogging friends - including several legends - and we lost our own Crystal too. It has also been a year of blogging kindness and generosity, for which we are immensely grateful! The supportive spirit of pet bloggers never ceases to make us smile.
We would like to think that 2011 will be a year of less tears and sorrow but the reality is that the more pets that enter the blogging world, the more illnesses, losses and tears there will be. And as the original blogging cats and dogs age, the more good-byes will be whispered through leaky eyes and broken hearts. The same is true of our non-blogging friends. We share your sorrows too.
But we will also share lots of laughter, participate in fun contests, meet new furry bloggers, and reconnect with a few ex-bloggers who were absent for a season. It will be a year of mystery, as we don't yet know what it will hold, but our prayer for all of you is that it will be a year rich in friendships and love.
We would like to end 2010 on a happy note. Wednesday we posted photos of 4 shelter cats up for adoption at the Thomaston, Georgia Petsense store. When Jan stopped in Thursday, two had already been adopted - the tortie with the pretty green eyes and the white & tabby. Still available were these two - a lovely calico and an orange & white kitten.

ReplyDeleteWe hope 2011 brings you far more joy than sorrow!
Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteYour post was simply beautiful, and so true. As with life, there is always ups and downs. When we began blogging over 5 years ago, it never occurred to us that we would cry with abandoned as our furfriends passed over the Rainbow Bridge, or smile with happiness over kittens finding new homes with owners of broken hearts. I now know that as I see my own kitties age, I will be faced with those same issues, one day, and can only hope it is a long time in the future. We are so glad that this community is here to help in good times and in sad times. it renews us to know how 'the kindness of strangers' -- who aren't strangers at all are so uplifting.
What a wonderful blessing we feel from having your furfriendship -- may your coming year be happy healthy and fulfilling!

May you and yours have a brilliant and fantastic New Year too!! Me and Charlie love this post!!! We are so glad for the blogging and particularly the petblogging community!! We humans all have our problems but the animals just ARE. When they're ill they're really ill and their time is so short on this earth that each day they are with us is to be treasured.
ReplyDeleteBut there are so many joys and laughter as each animal is rescued, adopted, saved and loved!! And we love that we are able to share in all these little joys!
We are so happy that the kitties at petsense are finding new homes!! Yay!!
Enjoy your New Year all at Jan's Funny Farm! take care

ReplyDeleteWe love this post Jan. You are so right, the CB brings both sorrow and joy ~ because one cannot generally have one with out the other. When one loves, it is panful to lose. But we too hope that 2011 is an easier time for us all, full of love and joy and forever homes.
