Time, Focus, Camera

Cameron:  I thought things were supposed to change around here and we were supposed to get better quality of photos to post.

Rusty:  I did too, but let's give Jan the benefit of the doubt.  After all, she keeps saying she doesn't even have time to take a break and breathe any more.

Marcus:  Isn't that dangerous?  When I run and play too hard, I have to stop and catch my breath.  Doesn't Jan know to do that too?

Merci:  It isn't that she doesn't know to catch her breath when she's running in circles, it's a matter of not having enough hours in the day to stop to take a deep breath and de-focus.

Cyndi:  What does de-focus mean?  Is that when Jan takes a picture and we're moving so fast we're just a blur?

Percy: No, that means Jan gets so focused on what she is doing, she forgets to come up for air.

Marcus:  She's drowning?

Sam:  No, she has a one-track mind.  Give her two or three things to do and she de-rails.  By the time she's back on track, she has to rush to make up time.

Marcus:  So Jan has two or three things to do.  What does this have to do with the quality of our pictures?

Micah:  No, Jan has more than two or three things and she's an old fogey with a leaky mind, so when all these things pile up every day, she gets rattled and confused.

Marcus:  I think I know how she feels.  I'm a bit confused myself right now.

Buddy:  When Jan gets a chance to breathe, she wants to learn how to use her new camera.  She's been wanting a decent camera for years and finally had an opportunity to get one.  At least she hopes this will be a decent camera.

Percy:  This is her old one.  As you can tell, there's going to be quite a learning curve.  Sorry for the photo quality of both but we were lucky to get these.

Merci:  So what can we do to help her find the time to learn the new camera?

Cameron: I know.  We can set her watch back an hour a day to give her extra time.

Sam:  That sounds like a good idea.  Let's do it!

  3. We remember when meowmy/growlmy got her new camera...she wanted to hide it and keep using her old one. BOL/MOL!

Now she does use it exclusively, but she knows it can do way more than her also leaky/stressed brain can deal with...sigh...

Wishing that there were classes offed when peeps get a new device!

    Enjoy your new flashy-box, Jan!

You better hide your furry ones...

  6. My human has that same camera - just from a different year! All the photos you see on my blog since, oh, about 2009 or 2010, were taken with either her current Sony, or an earlier version of it. She is just now working on upgrading to a DSLR - but she has been very happy with the Sonys.

P.S. don't be afraid to play with the Manual mode! It takes the best photos that way.

  14. Patience is what is needed. It took M a bit to learn her new camera and 9 months later, she's still learning. he he I think our humans need day stretchers! A gizmo that would give them longer days so they could do more!

  15. That leaky mind thing is contagious. Except our mom refers to herself as an "old dog." Don't ask us why...we think it's disgusting.

  16. I can relate on both fronts Jan. There just aren't enough hours in a day, and my camera sucks! Wish I could get a nice new camera too, one that would do my beautiful furkids justice!

  19. PepiSmartDog: you chose a really great camera. That Sony gets rave reviews.
We use a Canon 7D but we also have a Sony point'n'shoot because they have a great sensor in them.
You'll LOVE your new camera when you get it organised.
If you need help - just yell!
