Our hoomies could never, WILL never do that to ANY of us! That's just a very horrible & irresponsible thing to do. IF for any circumstances they cannot keep any of us for any reason, they would put in effort into finding new good homes for us. But I doubt that will ever happen!
Wow that was a very poignant video - It broke all our hearts around here at my house. Certainly a lot to think about. I know Pellie would never abandon me but I suppose lots of humans do just abandon pets.
Ping, Jinx and Boo were dumped, and I believe they were left at the corner of our property and they came straight to our house and tried to get in. (They did!) Abby had a very sad story. She had been with a family where the father hated her. She was the darling of his 7 yr old daughter. But a animal rescue volunteer was his neighbor and she knew I was looking for a b/w tuxie girl. He told the volunteer if I did not want Abby to just dump her but not to bring her back. (Can you imagine saying that to an animal activist?) Well it's obvious I wasn't going to let him have her after I heard that, and sadder yet the Mom of that former home wanted me to call her and I did, and she told me that she would take Abby back if things didn't work out. I don't think she knew how strongly the Dad felt. And I suspect since knowing Abby that Abby hated that Dad. So abandonment is something we are all TOO familiar with in the ManxMnews household.
wow that was a very poignant video. Sammy had to have been dumped in my neighborhood when he was only about 5 weeks old. and he is so terrified of the outside.
Oh Camewon that cewtainly will get hooman's attention. I don't undewstand how they can abandon fuwwkids. They awe innocent and dependant fow theiw sheltew and food and most of all love.. We awe so lucky to be wif hoomans who can't even imagine that smoochie kisses ASTA
Had trouble getting the video to run... Youtube doesn't like me tonight! lol. I think I need to turn off my pc and clear out the RAM...
I don't think I want to see though. My neighbor just had two cats stolen and my stomach is still tied in knots about that. The six kitties I am helping right now are because someone abandoned their grandmother who had kittens who are all over this neighborhood now.... one of them is Maggie... who don't know how to live with humans. Yet Maggie brought us her babies and I was able to get her spayed.
There is another abandoned kitty that I feed. We call him Thomas. He wants inside a home so bad, but he still needs neutering and meds for ear mites and luekemia testing.
He doesn't get along with the six fosters I have now. He sleeps on the patio and in an abandoned house next door. The sooner I find the six homes, the sooner I can help Thomas and the other abandoned cats in my brother's neighborhood.
This is something I just can't tolerate. People dumping pets is irresponsible and CRUEL. This is probably what happened to Link and my parents' cats Beatrice and Irvin. The thing is, I know people who do this! And their excuse is if they drop them off in a nice neighborhood, some rich person will start feeding them which is better than taking them to a shelter where the pet will be killed. But the sad thing is, a lot of people don't like cats, and do not treat them well when they see them in their yard. This happens even in the nice neighborhoods. :-(
Lots of people do that with pets. It is just so horrible. I imagine they do it with kids too. Who knows. There is always someone dropping cats off at the dump that I go to. And they usually end up at the shelter. Sometimes the guy there finds homes for them.
That happened to Trixie! And we know the commercial is making a point about pets, but our Mama used to work with children in foster care, and she says people DO do that to children too. Maybe not in the forest though. Some humans are just IDIOTS and some have no consciences. We just hope that the GOOD humans outnumber the BAD ones!
We are just catching up visiting, but this is a very thought provoking video and we will share it...many people are so heartless and irresponsible in all areas of their lives, and so often the animals suffer the most...
