Chief, Pit Bull Hero

We just read an article where a woman basically drips venom about how she detests animals in the house and just dislikes pets in general. Some readers found her article to be clever and cute, but we found it sad. She is entitled to her opinion, but it's too bad,as she's missing out on a lot of fun. She doesn't need to worry, though, we won't invite her to our house.

On the other hand, many of you have undoubtedly read about the pit bull that saved 2 women from a cobra that got into the house and was poised to strike. Those women are alive because they had a pet dog inside the house and that "stinky, noisy" animal sacrificed his life for them.

You can read about Chief, an American Pit Bull Terrier, here.

  1. It is too bad but some people just don't "get" the value of a pet. We feel badly for that woman that she will never understand the joy of a furbaby to love.

  2. People who don't like animals are losing all the fun.

  3. Every home should have a human. They're very useful for scritches, opening doors, and making food.

  4. Those that don't like the animals I think are those that are unhappy with themselves and won't try to make them a better person. It is their loss when they won't open their heart. What a waste of a life.
Good to hear that a pit bull got some good press. Those poor little doggies are always in the news for the wrong reason. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad doggie but the human that has the doggie doesn't to their part to care and train.

  5. Don't let the slobberhound know this, but Pibbles are pretty nice dogs.

As for the lady who hates pets, she's missing out.

  6. I can't imagine life without my furry family. They bring so much joy to our home. They are all rescues and I always say that we are the lucky ones that have them to love and the love they give in return.

  8. I think that people who don't like animals have other issues going on. The animal is just the focus.

  9. Well, yeah. We worried at first about having our pets in the house - Mom and Dad - but they're working out just fine. :) Ha roo roo roo.

  13. Oh, that story about the pit bull had me in tears....and all those people say nasty things about pit bulls!! I really like the Robert Louis Stevenson quote too.

As for the woman anti-pets...(shrugs), it's her loss. Some people don't even deserve to know what they're missing...

  17. Pets bring so much happiness and enjoyment that it really is her loss. Good to hear some nice things are being said for the poor pit-bulls.

  18. We can never understand people who don't realize how much healthier people are when they share their house with pets.

Thank you for stopping by and sending your purrs and condolences. We know they made Jade's journey a more peaceful one.

  19. Her loss... I can understand people not wanting their pets indoors (not even I have my pets indoors, but it's hard to motivate when you live in a temperate country and the animals prefer being outside) but I could not imagine a life without them. I can't even imagine a ride without Sheba anymore, and I've only had her for a year!
