This is Merci with her empty bowl.
The idea is to stop a dog - we'll use Buddy for our example here - from scooping food by the mouthful. If you notice, the bowl is more oval than round and divided into half cup sections. The sides are curved and narrow toward the bottom. In order to eat, Buddy has to utilize his tongue. Merci has a narrow nose, Buddy's is wider and Samaritan has a broad nose, yet the bowls are one-size-fits-all. Now, we eat dry food but the concept would be the same for canned food.
In addition, the bowl is designed so if Buddy tries to eat too fast, the bowl moves and he has to reposition himself.

ReplyDeleteome cats in this house (who shall remain nameless) could really use a bowl like this. SOME cats eat so fast, that they "revisit" their food (which is almost NEVER chewed). Sigh. Of course we won't mention any names.....

Someone knew what they were doing when they made the bowl to slow down the fast eating. This is a good thing to have if you have the fast eaters as it will keep you from eating too fast and getting sick.
