We Pushed Jan out the Door

Micah: This is a snow scene we posted Thursday.  It was from the previous week. 

Merci:  This is the same snow scene in sepia.  For some reason the scene seems colder in sepia than in color.  Doesn't it look cold and a bleak in the sepia version?  Or perhaps it just appears that way to us.

Cameron:  We're very glad we haven't had any more snow since then, even though the weatherman has mentioned flurries a couple of times.

Buddy:  We hope all of you in snow areas are warm and dry for the weekend. 

Cyndi: We are joining Ruckus the Eskie for the Sepia Saturday blog hop #7. 

Percy:  Ruckus has a lovely sepia shot from Yosemite and a short tale of what he and his humans went through to get the shot. 

Rusty:  We just pushed Jan out the front door onto the porch to take our picture.  She's not as adventurous as Eskie's family.

Sam: If you're a blogger, go by and sign in.  You can meet new bloggers.  Pictures don't have to be of pets. 

Marcus:  Hey, you guys hogged all the dialogue.  There isn't anything left to say.

Buddy:  What about - we'll be back with another post tomorrow?

Marcus:  But you just said that.

Percy:  You could say - that's all for today.

Marcus:  But you just said that.

Cyndi:  Wait.  I know how to resolve this.  *scribbles furiously, holds up paper with two paws*

Marcus:  This post has been put together by the Runny .... That can't be right.  Cyndi, your scribbling is hard to read.  Oh, I get it.  This post has been put together by the Funny Farmers.  Happy Saturday.

Cherry City Cool Cats

Percy:  Believe it or not, we are actually back this Friday with a brand new interview.  We're sorry we had to postpone it for a week, but we understand all your humans won't need more explanation than "tech support."

Micah:  Um, you said that like "tech support" is a bad word.  Is it on the no-no-naughty list?

Rusty:  Not yet, Micah, but the way Jan pronounces it, it might be soon.

Cyndi:  At least today we are online and introducing the Cherry City Kitties - .Harry, Dexter, Tipp and Willow.  Many of you have already met them, but there is always something new to learn.  So drop by Mousebreath, the ezine for cats, by cats to read The Cool Cats from Cherry City.

What A Relief It Melted

Percy:  No, this is not what is happening today. This was last Monday, January 27th. Our first, and hopefully, only snowfall of the year. We were offline at the time that horrible storm moved into the "sunny South" and couldn't share photos so we're going to share them now. 

Cameron:  There was basically no traffic, only snow and ice.

Cyndi  We could have counted every car that went by on both roads because of the loud crunching of tires on ice or tires trying to get traction on a bad patch.  Fortunately, there were very few vehicles during the night or we wouldn't have gotten any sleep.  And I do need my beauty sleep.

 

Buddy:  This was Marcus' first glimpse of snow.  As you can see from the few paw prints, he and Sam did a quick pee and wanted back inside.  But Jan stood on the top step in her boots and a coat taking pictures and made them stay outside to enjoy the snow.  I get cold easily, so Jan let me in the house. 

Micah:  See all the paw tracks now?  Sam and Buddy finally got the hang of it and started to play.

Merci:  I sat on a step and watched the snow fall.

Rusty:  This is what it looked like by the next afternoon.  Kids were outside playing and the ice was melting on the street.

Percy  Doesn't that look peaceful?  Jan said the snow was pretty but she was glad she didn't have to go anywhere in it.

Sam:  We're glad the snow and the icicles on the house have melted.  We are not prepared for weather like this, as folks are in areas where ice and snow are "normal," so in advance of the storm, it was announced county offices and schools would be closed and people were told to stay off the roads. 

Buddy:  We saved these photos for Thankful Thursday because we are truly thankful this is in the past and we've had a chance to thaw out.  It's been so cold here this winter, we have missed many of our walks.  I don't expect Jan will want to make up for them in the spring.  She's getting kind of old, you know.

Grab A Bag and Run

Marcus:  Hey, look what I found, guys.  Wonder what it is?

Buddy & Marcus checking out package

Buddy: It's a Wag Pac, Marcus.  We had one last month, just before you arrived.

Marcus:  Is it for me?

Buddy:  No, it's a gift for me, but I'll share with you.  The collar is a pretty blue and it's got a zippered stash pocket.  Guess that's to hold all the money I don't have.

Marcus:  There are treats and a toy.  Can I have them?

Buddy:  You can have some of the treats and you can play with the Boney Squeaky Ball.  Just don't destroy it like you've been doing with everything else.

Marcus;  I'm sorry.  I've got really good teeth.  I have to do something with them besides smile pretty.

Sad Sam

Marcus:  Sam, why do you look so sad?

Sam:  Because there isn't anything in there for me.

Buddy:  Of course there is.  You'll get a share of the treats and you can play with the squeaky ball too.

Sam:  Thanks.  I was feeling left out.  I feel better now.

Buddy:  Actually, Merci is the one who is left out - of the pictures, anyway.  You and Marcus always show up when the camera comes out, Sam, but Merci is shy and doesn't like to pose.

Marcus:  Does that mean she won't get any treats?

Buddy:  No, she'll show up when a treat bag is opened.

Marcus:  And when will a treat bag be opened?

Sam:  Just as soon as Jan puts the camera down.

Marcus:  Will she put the camera down faster if I grab a treat bag and run?
