A Horse Named Buddy
Micah: It's too hot and humid to move so it's just us tonight - you and me. I think it would be fun to start your weekend off with a smile, so I'll tell you a story.
It was a desolate area where the out of town motorist drove his car into a ditch. A local farmer came to rescue him with a big strong horse named Buddy.
What are you doing here, Buddy? I'm telling a story.
Buddy: I heard my name. Is it possible I'm related to this horse named Buddy?
Micah: Somehow I doubt it!
To continue, he hitched Buddy to the car and yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull!: Buddy didn't move.
Buddy: Who's Nellie?
Micah: You'll find out.
He then hollered, "Pull, Buster, pull!" and Buddy still didn't move.
Buddy: I don't know who Buster is, but do you think Buddy could have been old and arthritic?
Micah: Why don't you wait until I'm finished to ask questions?
And Buddy didn't move when the farmer yelled, "Pull, Coco, pull!"
Buddy: I'm starting to think this farmer has a touch of dementia. He can't even remember his horse is named Buddy.
Micah: No, he doesn't have dementia.
Finally, the farmer said, "Pull, Buddy, pull," and Buddy dragged the car from the ditch.
Buddy: See, we guys named Buddy are very sensitive to being called by the wrong name. We're very strong and hard-working too.
Micah: And modest, don't forget modest.
Buddy: So why did the farmer call Buddy by the wrong name three times?
Micah: As the farmer explained to the grateful motorist, "Buddy is blind, and if he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn't even try."
Buddy: I don't get it. I thought Buddy was the only one pulling.
Micah: Wake me when you figure it out.
