Marcus Speaks

Hey, it's me, Marcus again.  You know, the handsome woofer here at Jan's Funny Farm.  *pssst, don't tell Sam and Buddy I said that, okay?* 

You might remember a recent post where I said I would see the vet this Tuesday and then I would be ready to find a home of my own.  I met the vet yesterday.  He fed me some good treats but he also stuck me with a needle and was generally annoying - looked in my mouth, clipped my nails, poked and prodded. 

Now I am ready for a new home.  Not that I want to leave my friends, but Jan says she can't keep me and I am worthy of a home of my own. 

So who among you nice people can be trusted to love me and take good care of me, has a big heart and a good reputation with dogs and would like to adopt me?  I promise to behave.  After I grow up. 


I am a (approximately) 9-week-old brindle pittie mix. I have normal size paws so I will be a small / medium adult.  At the moment I weight 13 pounds and am lean and muscular - I've been hiking with the big dogs here since I was 5 weeks old.

I am partially crate trained.  (I only stay in the crate when Jan isn't home and I hate being alone so much I sing so loud the other dogs howl.)  I will make an excellent lap /cuddle companion.

I get along with people and with other dogs.  I almost get along with cats.  They aren't as fond of me since I reached the age I want to wrestle with everything I meet, but I only want to play.  Isn't play what life is about at my age? 

I love long walks.  I'm not a fussy eater.  

I love to dance. 

I love to play.

And I love to follow the big guys around.  I even play tug of war with them.

How about you?  Wouldn't you just love to watch me grow up, to teach me tricks and manners, to let me  sleep in your bed - or in my own if I'm forced to?  Of course you would!  There's a contact form in the left sidebar if you are interested.  I am in Thomaston/Upson County, Georgia. Where are you?
