U S Veterans

Merci: We just want to remind you that Veterans Day in the United States is November 11. There are veterans groups out this weekend distributing poppies as a fundraiser.

Buddy: Jan helped the VFW today and will be back out for a few hours tomorrow. So if you see a woman about 630 years old --

Cyndi: Hey, Jan is not 630 years old! Humans don't live that long. 500, 550 tops.

Buddy: What do you mean she's not 630? She sure looks that old to me!

Percy: Stop interrupting. I'm trying to type.

Buddy: -- 630 years old, please dig deep in your pockets and find a spare hundred dollar bill.

Rusty: What are you doing? No one will donate anything if ....

Sam: It's psychology, Rusty, psychology. If we suggest they donate $100, which they don't have, then they won't mind donating $1 or $2, which they do have.

Cotton: Well, some of them have it. Jan says a lot of folks don't carry money any more.

Cameron: Yeah, kind of like some cats and dogs I know who never carry any money, so they can't pay their Funny Farm club dues.

Merci: This is one of those times it would be nice to have some money in the treasury. Then we could buy some Buddy Poppies of our own.

Buddy: Do you think we could write a check on Jan's bank account for some poppies?

Crystal: That's a good idea! We can buy all her poppies and surprise her.

Buddy: Let's do it! Jan loves surprises.

Merci: But I don't think she's going to like this one!

PS --- There are 28 dogs left at Carrol Crocker's. Please, if you can help in any way ....... Time is fast running out! Hope4Dogs

PPS -- Jan didn't get the house "winterized" yesterday. She got interrupted but it was an important interruption, so we'll forgive her. But if we freeze to death, it's going to be awfully hard for us to make another post.

  1. We are purring you won't freeze to death and that Jan doesn't kill you when she finds out about the suprise. We really think you should give it some more thought (just saying).

Glad to hear at least two more doggies got adopted, we are purring that they all will. ~S,S & C

  4. You'll have to create a pile of you to keep warm. We do that on mom's bed! It's sunny & 60s in north Ga. but cold at night. We're still praying for Carrol's doggies.

  6. I think you should all snuggle up to Jan - then you'd all be warm and cozy. I'd forget the cheque book idea - 'cos it's sure to get you into trouble and believe me that's not nice - 'cos I'm always in trouble for something or other!

Mom says I can be a complete pest - but she still loves me!

  11. Hi guys!!

Nice reminder about Veteran's Day coming up. Yes, we must remember them and take good care of those that we have left.

I don't have a hundred dollars, but I do have a small fortune that I inherited from all the previous Koobusses combined ($14.00) I just don't know where it is. I hope my mom didn't invest it in the stock market.

  14. I can tell it's Vetran's Day again because it's very cold here! The poor people in the parade downtown, brrr!
Our house is very old and drafty too. The smart kitties curl up tight in front of the registers in the rooms that aren't closed up.
I hope your week is a happy one!
    Hugs,
    Lorianna

  16. Got my post ready to go to honor all of the veterans that served. Doth, dad of the house, is a veteran. We all think that he shouldn't have to go to work tomorrow. I don't think they get the day off though. Too bad, would be fun to have him at home.
