Percy and Drake the Akita

Micah:  Hey, Percy, I understand you've been looking for a new apartment.  Does this mean you'll be moving out soon?

Percy:  You wish!  But I'm staying.  I'm just looking for a place of my own here.  There isn't much privacy, especially from you.

Micah:  Jan wasn't very happy when you knocked things over leaping to your latest apartment yesterday.  Why would you want to move onto a shelf over the toilet?

Percy:  There was only room for one.

Micah:  You made a bigger mess leaping out of your new digs.  Jan had to wash all her combs and hair items after they bounced around the floor.

Percy:  Well, entry and exit were a bit awkward.  I was going to work on them but Jan blocked access and now I have to find another apartment.  Looking is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Micah:  If you need any help packing, just let me know.  I can throw your things into a suitcase in no time.  Just say the word.

Percy: You sure are trying to be helpful for someone who doesn't like me.

Micah:  Believe me, packing your things would be my pleasure!

Taylor:  Marcus is taking a snooze in his crate.  He's a bit jealous, so this seems a good time to share pictures of another dog.

Jan has been wanting some photos of a neighbor's dog for months.  He used to live two doors away.  Every time she saw him on the lawn and came inside to get her camera, he would be on the porch when she came out.

Two or three months ago, his owner moved away and the dog moved next door.  His owner John was working with him on obedience training yesterday, and he brought Drake outside the privacy fence so Jan could take photos.

It was the first time Jan has ever seen him up close.  This is Drake.  Isn't he gorgeous?

He is an Akiita and he is big - much bigger than Marcus!

He has a sense of humor.  This is what Drake had to say about Jan making a fuss over him.

  1. I do hope the trouble of finding the best apartment works out for you, Percy!
That sure is one huge and gorgeous Akita! A lady where petcretary works has a female ad she just had eight pups, and some other employees are getting some of her pups! Petcretary saw pictures of some them last night. One is black and white like Drake. He's soon going to his new home with one of the nurses.

  2. Percy, I think your human needs to create an apartment for you... otherwise, you are going to keep on making them up!

Parcy, I hope you find that special space, your own digs, the privacy place, very soon! Is there an empty box somewhere? I've heard that cats are very desirous of an empty box.

Drake has a lovely smile and am so glad he has a caring and worthy new owner. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Actually, that is what an Akita's tail looks like. You can check it out with a search for "akita tail". Very unusual, isn't it!

  9. Oh, we love those doggies. They are so beautiful and have those little curly tails...and Percy, maybe the underwear drawer next time...Probably room for one in there. Medicine cabinets are not the best place to set up house.

    1. We are not just banned but completely blocked from the top of the fridge after there were a number of accidents, including a black eye (Jan's, compliments of Cameron) and the freezer door left open on more than one occasion.

  14. So his owner moved off and left him? That's not right. He is handsum. As fur findin' privacy, we don't think that's pawssible. There's only the three of us and nopawdy here has any purrivacy either. MOL Big hugs

    1. Oh, no, we weren't trying to imply the dog was abandoned. The owner found the dog a new home next door before he moved away.

  15. The right apartment is often hard to find. Raz has a penthouse suite on top of the entertainment center. It was his bachelor pad until Noelle saw him go up there.

  16. Percy, it sounds like the housing market is very tough there. Good luck finding a new apartment!

Drake is super handsome. There was an Akita named Masa in my neighborhood when I was a little boy. He was big, too.

  18. I have a lot of fur sibs, and every one of us wants our own apawtment. Some of us use the top of the cupboards, others use under the bed. Peaches goes under the couch and Chauncie Marie used to go under the tv cabinet until she moved into Mom's office. I go where Mom is. Always. Purrs, Dori

  20. Thanks for the share. Looks like Percy found a new place to make home. Love the photo of Percy trying to make look comfortable to see if Micah will get jealous of the new spot. Drake looks so handsome and we are glad you were able to take a great picture of him. Have a great day.
