Pirate Day 2018

Percy:  Even though  we don't post on Wednesday any more, it doesn't feel right to let Meow / Woof Like a Pirate Day go by this year without participating.

Marcus:  Jan still doesn't have Photoship Elements on the computer since the last installation scared her out of two lives.

Percy:  Unlike cats, humans don't have more than one life, and I think you mean Photoshop.

Marcus:  Do you see any "shop" in that graphic?  I see a ship.  Perhaps you need glasses.

Percy:  It was depressing to look at our old Pirates Day graphics since most all of those in the pictures are gone now.  But Jan found us this one with just you and me and the high seas.

Marcus:  I wish you hadn't said "high seas".  Now I'm seasick.  Why is this boat rocking?

Percy:  I think that's Jan jumping up and down on the deck trying to make things seem more realistic.

Marcus:  Well, it's going to become very realistic when she has to clean up pools of dog barf.

Percy:  But we only rented the ship for the photo shoot.  Jan won't have to clean it up.

Marcus:  You don't think she's going to pay extra to have someone else clean it up, do you?

Percy:  In that case, I suggest you heave ho ... uh, heave to ... throw up over the railing into the water.

Marcus:  Now that the ship has stopped rocking, so has my stomach.  How about we go grab us some hardtack and grog to celebrate the day, matey?

Percy:  Sounds like a good idea.  But can we make it quick?  I have an emergency.

Marcus:  What's the problem?

Percy:  My wooden leg appears to  have termites.

We are joining the Pirate Day Pet Parade with hosts Dash Kitten, Barking from the Bayou, & Bionic Basil.

Talk Like A Pirate Day 2016

Percy & Marcus
Merci:  Shiver me timbers!  T'is familiar. Do we need to pillage another island for booty for a new graphic?

Cyndi: Visiting landlubbers can have a dreg o' rum on us today. Oh, wait, thee cork fell out of thee barrel and thee rum spilled in that big storm last week.

Merci:  Yarr! We don't really have anything to serve our visitors today, do we?

Cyndi:  Blimey! Nay. What grub didn't fall overboard in thee storm, we stashed away for today's party, but Marcus found it.

Merci:  Shiver me timbers! So thar's nothing left for thee party, is thar?

Cyndi:  Not a morsel.

Merci:  Alas! We'll just have to thank visitors for coming by and tell them thar's a party on thee 3rd pirate galleon to our right, although we're not sure if it's a frivolous party or a walk thee plank party.

Cyndi:  Perhaps we should skip that one and advise them to do thee same, but thar's a big party just a mile downriver.

Merci:  Wait, isn't that thee pirate galleon whar everyone got so three sheets to the wind last year thar was a huge fight and half thee participants fell overboard and drowned?

Cyndi:  Right. I'd forgotten about that. We can cross that off thee list too.

Merci:  Ahoy! How about if we forget about sending visitors to another galleon to party and just send out for pizza?

Cyndi:  Blimey! Fine. How many visitors be we expecting? Er ... how will we pay for the pizzas?

Merci:  We could plunder thee Pirates Nest Bar for loose swag. Drunken pirates be always dropping doubloons and trinkets.

Cyndi:  That's a tough bar. On second thought, let's just turn off thee poop deck light and hide thee welcome mat.

Merci:  Alas! Ye git thee light. I'll turn over thee mat.

Talk Like A Pirate 2015

MERCI:  Well, even with all the reminders - and Jan added it to her calendar! - we still almost missed Meow or Woof Like a Pirate Day.  But the Funny Farmer Furry Buccaneers are ready to sail.

MICAH:  We asked Jan to rework a couple of graphics we've used before.  It was sad to remove Cameron from this one.

SAM:  We've had a lot of fun with this over the years.  I guess every furry dreams of being a pirate.

PERCY:  We have posted this one a couple of times but we can only remember one - possibly two - humans noticing the non-furry.

MARCUS:  We changed the text this year.  First, we ran it through a pirate translator site to make certain our speech is authentic.  We can't afford to be cited for inappropriate speech!

BUDDY:  This is our Caturday Art blog hop picture.  The hop is hosted by Athena. We just loved those circles when we tried a halftone pattern in Photoshop Elements.

CYNDI:  After looking at this picture for a while, the room is starting to move in circles.  I think I'm dizzy.

RUSTY:  And our Sepia Saturday blog hop picture.  The hop is hosted by Ruckus the Eskie & Earl's World.

Talk Like A Pirate Day

Buddy:  Hey, guys, it's Talk Like A Pirate Day, better known among us furries as Meow or Woof Like A Pirate Day.

Cyndi:  Are we prepared or has Jan been sleeping on the job again?

Micah:  Believe it or not, we have a new old graphic to post.

Cameron:  What's a new old graphic?

Sam:  It's the graphic Jan made us for Frankie's Pirate Day a few months ago.  She added.Percy.

Merci:  Oh, right.  Marcus wore two eye patches back them.

Rusty:  Well, at least he's only wearing one this time!  It's a wonder he didn't fall overboard wandering around like that.

Marcus:  Okay, I misunderstood and made a mistake.  But it made you laugh so it wasn't a total disaster.

Percy:  You're right.  You did make us laugh.  But as for today, I don't think you understand that "shiver me timbers" doesn't mean the timbers are cold.

The Funny Farmer Felines do not have a Mousebreath interview to publish this week.

Talk Like Thankful Pirates

We didn't want to miss Pirate Day again, and Jan said she didn't have time to make us a new graphic for Meow or Woof Like A Pirate Day so we are re-using the one from 2011.  But we are all sad because Jan had to replace Cotton with Micah.  Not that we're sad Micah is here. It's just that we're all sad Cotton left us last year four months before Micah arrived.

Guess that's what we're thankful for today, that we had so many good years with Cotton.  And with Crystal.  It's just so hard to replace them in headers and other graphics. Many of you have been through that at least once.

But we didn't want to miss Pirate Day.

So, Avast, Ye Hearties, let's break out a hogshead o' grog ta celebrate!

Swami Zoe, thank you so much for sharing the Super Sweet Bloggie Award with us.

We will have to answer the questions and pass it on later.  But we are honored and wanted to acknowledge it.

Meow Or Woof Like A Pirate

Well, with so much going on around here that Jan can't match her shoes or remember her camera on a photo shoot, we haven't had time to do anything special for Meow / Woof Like A  Pirate Day.  So we're just going to re-post our graphic from last year.

If the blog is still under a cloud of black with white dashes, please excuse it.  Our Template Designer is broken and there's nothing we can do.  We have to wait for Blogger to fix it.

UPDATE:  Whoo hoo, our blog background is back!  The Template Designer was totally broken and wouldn't let us do anything.  But it did allow us to start fresh with a new template design and one of their stock backgrounds.  And then came the REALLY scary part.  What would happen if we deleted the stock one and tried to install our own again?  Whew!  It worked.  And we have our lovely (to us) blog back.  We're doing a happy dance over here, but not too energetically since Jan hasn't fed us yet.

Yesterday was so hectic we didn't get to post Karla's (Miss Peach's blog) lovely graphic for her friend Helen who lost her precious Scooter.  We all know how painful that is.  You can leave a message for Helen on her blog Creating A Likeness.

Asta, Link and Gracie's Mom

Hey, Cameron here, stopping by with a few tidbits of breaking news.

To celebrate her 5th birthday tomorrow, Asta is having a commentathon. Any comment left today or tomorrow will benefit a rescue shelter of one lucky commentor's choice.

Asta's mom is an artist. Road Dog Tales has posted an interview and some of Ami's lovely paintings. So be sure to drop by Asta's blog for the link and to leave a comment.

Gracie's mom threw a great 16th birthday party yesterday for Gracie's niece, even though she was sick. Today she went to the doctor and learned she has sinusitis as well as "surprise" pneumonia in her left lung.  We hope she will quickly recover.  Feel free to use the graphic if you'd like.

Link Bartholomew's mom is preparing for her wedding, so Link was sad he wasn't able to participate and post Monday, September 19  for Meow or Woof Like A Pirate Day.  So we sent his mom proof that Link sailed on the same ship we did.  This is Link, Scoundrel of the Seas, and if you haven't met him yet, be sure to stop by and share a glass of grog.

Meow or Woof Like A Pirate

Today, September 19, is the 5th annual Meow or Woof Like a Pirate Day. This is the first time we've participated, mainly because there are so many of us.  But with some help from Jan, we managed to all sail on the same ship this year.

There are a lot of fun graphics and posts around the blogosphere so enjoy the day. Arrrrrgh!

PS - We had a few friends aboard the same ship we sailed.

Peg Leg Khyra

Emily, Brutus & Marigold of Rose and the Royals.

And this hard-working deckhand is Charlie of Ten Lives & Second Chances

This is Ginger Jasper. You probably won't find this photo on his post because ... well, because you just can't trust a human to do a job right. Jan said she sent this graphic to GJ's mom, in case he didn't have one for today.

However, she didn't send it to GJ's mom, she sent it to Romeo's. (Caroline instead of Carol) At least some other furry humans were on the ball cause he has some pawsome graphics in his post.  So our shipmate GJ is featured on Romeo & Pugsley's  blog instead. (With permission from GJ's mom.)  However, despite Jan's blunder, we won't make her walk the plank today or swing from the hempen halter.  We took away her bottle of rum and she has to swab the poop deck, though.

And Ginger Jasper, we hope we aren't giving away any secrets.  You did tell your mom you spent some time pirating swag with us, didn't you?

Thanks, Carol and Caroline, for your sense of fun over Jan's big oopsie.  Otherwise, we pirates might have had to throw her overboard.

Cyndi Meets Cricket

Hey, Cyndi here. I'll be with you in just a second. I was just taking a whiff of catnip when this photo finally arrived from Picasa. It takes "forever" to get a photo to download any more. The other day it not only took what seemed like hours, but we ended up having to delete 38 - yes, 38! - copies of the same photo. They just all appeared at once.

We asked Jan to help us with our Meow or Woof Like a Pirate graphic for Monday and it took her alllllllll day to make it so we never got to post yesterday.  While she was at it, she turned it into a design.  Sam makes the silliest faces so he is a perfect pirate.  **Oh, sorry, Sam.  I mean you make a realistic pirate.**

I have one of those awwwww videos for you today. Short but sugary. We think you're going to enjoy meeting little Cricket.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Today is the Saturday blog hop but I don't feel like fighting to add another photo, so we'll just tell you we're taking part.  :)

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  It's cool here, which is a welcome change.
