Yodeling Traffic Cop

Marcus: Hurry up, Jan, hurry up!

Micah:  Stop getting in Jan's way and you'll get your breakfast quicker.

Marcus:  Hurry up, Jan!  Cyndi, don't you even look at the dog bowls.

Micah:  Look, this is what Jan sees at her elbow while she prepares your food.  How is she supposed to work?

Marcus:  Get a move on, Jan!  Percy's eying my bowl.

Micah:  Put a lid on it, Marcus.  You sound like a yodeling traffic cop yelling at us cats.

Marcus:  Faster, Jan , fas -   Wait, I sound like a what?

Cyndi:  Thank you, Micah.  I have never been able to put a paw on what to call Marcus's meal preparation hysteria.

Marcus:  You don't know what a yodeling traffic cop sounds like.

Micah:  Want to bet?

Despite Marcus screaming at us in a high falsetto before every meal, we're grateful to have food, so we're joining Pepi Smart Dog for today's Thankful Thursday blog hop.

Panic Alert

Taylor:  Panic alert!  Panic alert!  Everyone hide.  Jan's on the warpath.  Or maybe not.  Has Jan calmed down?   Is it safe to come out now?

Merci:  What's the problem?

Taylor:  Haven't you heard?  Last night we tried to do a post and discovered Google had made some major changes in how our post photos work.

Merci:  Yes, and after hours of trying to help us figure out the new system, we all gave up and went to bed.

Taylor:  And when Jan got on the computer this morning, most of our photos had disappeared from our blogs.  There was little left except place markers.

Merci:  Oh, that must be why those strange sounds were coming from the living room.  I was afraid to come see what Jan was --   What was she doing?

Taylor:  After the initial shock - moaning, crying, ranting?  I have no idea.  I've been hiding and feared this was the end of our blogging.  I haven't been here but a few months, but for you guys, losing years of photos could kill your desire to blog.

Merci:  So why are we posting now?

Taylor:  Jan went round and round until she was dizzy, and she's not sure which setting change was successful, but suddenly all our pictures were back.

Merci:  Oh, so this is a victory post.  Good let's break out the champagne and celebrate our rapid return to blogging.

Taylor:  We don't have any champagne.

Merci:  Well, the least Jan could do is to split a t-bone steak with us.

Taylor:  You know we never have steak around here.

Merci:  Okay, well break out a -  What do we have to celebrate?

Taylor:  Hope for a blogging future?

Tuesday Friday Flashback

Buddy:  Hey, Marcus, did you come up with a post for today?

Marcus:  Me?  I thought it was your turn.

Buddy:  No, I did it the other day.

Marcus:  You mean we don't have a post?

Buddy:  No, not unless anyone wants to read about how you messed up and now we don't have one.

Marcus:  It's not my fault.  Jan's been hobbling and creaking, it's been hot and humid, and I've been sticking like velcro to Jan's legs because of the t-storms we've been having.  When did I have time to think?

Buddy:  How about when you were being an annoying jerk ... I mean an annoying brother ... pestering Percy yesterday.

Marcus:  It's such fun to pester Percy.  He's so funny when he threatens me with castration.

Buddy:  I know what we can do.  We can do a Tuesday Flashback.

Marcus:  Isn't that supposed to be a Friday Flashback?

Buddy:  Not if we publish it on Tuesday.

Marcus:  Okay, it's worth a try.

Buddy:  Back in 2011, we dogs were interviewed by Coffee with a Canine. We have new friends who have never read that interview.

Marcus:  Hey, wait a minute!  I wasn't even born in 2011.

Buddy:  I know you weren't.  Merci, Angel Sam and I were, though.

Marcus:  Come to think of it, I haven't read it either.  Where did you say I can find it?

Buddy:  Coffee with a Canine

Elephant Jokes

Rusty:  Hey, Micah, where would you find an elephant?

Micah:  I don't know.  Perhaps Jan could tell you, although I doubt it.  She can't remember where to find the checkbook.

Rusty:  Checkbook - is Jan planning to buy an elephant?

Micah:  Not that I know of, but she just might if there's a good sale.

Rusty:  But where would you find an elephant?

Micah:  Possibly on Amazon.  Amazon sells just about everything.

Rusty:  I don't want to buy one.  I'm asking where would you find an elephant?

Micah:  I wouldn't.  I don't want one.

Rusty:  You don't have to want one.  I'm trying to tell a joke.

Micah:  Okay, so where would I find an elephant?

Rusty:  You don't have to find elephants; they're too big to lose.

Micah:  That's it?  That's your joke?   What brought this on?

Rusty:   Last month we published a zebra joke post and  The Poodle and Dog blog asked if we have an elephant joke.

Micah:  And that's the best you can muster?

Rusty:  Well, I could ask why elephants have short tails.

Micah:  What do you mean by short tails - short for an elephant or short for a dog?

Rusty:  There is no dog in this joke.

Micah:  Don't get upset.  I was just asking.

Rusty:  Okay, why do elephants have short tails for elephants?

Micah:  I give up.

Rusty:  Because they can't remember long stories.

Micah:  I thought elephants have a long memory.

Rusty:  They do, and so do I.  You just ruined two of my jokes.

Micah:  Does this mean you won't play second banana when I want to tell a joke?

Rusty:  What do you think?
