Today is Memorial Day in the U.S., a day when we remember and honor those who have died in service to our country.
Big & Rich's song "8th of November" always brings to mind, not only those who died, but those who survived and live with the memories of their fallen brothers.
My Uncle Don was stationed with Kris Kristofferson in Germany and my grandmother came to visit and heard him play. She wrote her cousin, Marijohn in Nashville who gave him his start. I have a letter that Kris wrote us when my uncle died. (Thanks for giving me a chance to brag. LOL!) My brother was in Viet Nam and came back, but he was not willing to talk about it much. Still many unknowns...how brave so many were in such a terribly gone-astray war.
Have a grateful Memorial Day.
