Buddy: We weren't going to do a post today. Jan is so far behind in everything and has a very big and important project to do and hasn't even been able to start yet, but she said it's okay to do a quick post because we had some fun news this morning and if we have to wait, we'll forget..
Cyndi: We had a message from our blogging friends Mika, Lexus and Koda that they gave us an award today. We just had to go see what we received.
Cameron: We're ashamed to admit this but we received two awards from the same blog last month and kept forgetting to post them.
Rusty: We've learned too well from Jan and now we forget to read things, including our To Post folder. (See, things really are always Jan's fault!)
Percy: But today, we want to acknowledge their kindness and at least post the awards, so they don't think we don't appreciate them.
Sam: Yes, we received the Field of Flowers Award from Love is being owned by a husky blog. They had to nominate 7 blogs and we were one of them. They said something lovely about each blog and we were stunned by what they said about us.
Merci: Yes, stunned. They didn't actually say anything about us. It's our blog but Jan got the credit, even though her name isn't mentioned. She's our klutz and we need to keep her humble or her head will swell. What do we do?
Micah: That's easy. We pretend the nice things they said are about us, accept the award and don't allow her to see this post!
Marcus: That's a good idea. Who makes the speech?
Buddy: I will. * clears throat* We would like to thank Mika, Lexus and Koda for bestowing this honor upon us. It's a privilege to be a part of the blogging community, so we are always happy to help others. Thank you for noticing our blog design. We're very proud of the strange... um, colorful background. And Marcus? Taking him in was a pleasure. Well, perhaps an experience would be a better way to put it.
Sam: *whispers* Pssst, when is the little menace leaving?
Cyndi: We're supposed to give this award to 7 other bloggers but since we were only allotted a small window of time and Jan is on her way back from taking out the trash, we'll have to postpone that.
Percy: Love is being owned by a Husky also gave us the Best Blog Around the World and the Excellence award a month ago. Thank you. We apologize for being so late posting them.

Stuffie Killer Marcus
Sam here. I'm feeling a bit sad and even a tad frangy! (That's frustrated and angry in one word.)
A few months ago I was signed up for 3 doggyloot packages. One toy my size - large - per month. Have I ever seen them? Well, technically, yes. I have SEEN them. And that's all.
Notice who grabbed my toy #1? Marcus.
And who grabbed my toy #2?
So who do you think grabbed my toy #3? He tried to steal it before Jan even got photos.
Jan had to take it to the front porch to take photos. Isn't it cute? A large toy for a large dog - me.
It's a Kong shaker. It squeaks and rattles. A touch center panel for vigorous thrashing indoors. Designed for light/moderate chew sessions. I'm not too sure about moderate. I have big, sharp teeth.
Jan showed me my toy and Marcus jumped up and grabbed it.
He wrestled it away.
And he thrashed it all about.
Marcus got it dirty, so Jan took it inside. Marcus rolled and thrashed it about.
He wrestled with it until he got tired and took a nap.
A little bit later Jan turned from the computer and saw this. Notice Merci slept right through the horrendous murder.
Oh, this is so fun, Marcus laughed.
I am so happy with my new toy, Marcus crowed.
I couldn't believe my eyes. What do you mean, your new toy? .
Marcus looked at Jan with innocent eyes and said, Someone really made a mess, didn't they?
Marcus sniffed the remnants and peered closely. Maybe the killer left a clue.
And maybe Marcus needs a time out. I can't believe it but, even with time out for a nap, my Kong Shaker didn't even survive for two hours around Marcus. If you'll excuse me, I need a little grumble time with Jan. This is all her fault!
This is not a review for DoggyLoot, but they do have some interesting and sturdy toys. Sadly, this one didn't survive a 3 month-old menace.
The Kong Shaker was too young to die. Does anyone know what kind of funeral is appropriate for a stuffie?

Sam and Dr. Seuss
![]() | |
| Sam is out of costume again. (l-r: Micah, Cyndi, Rusty, Sam, Merci, Cameron) |
Rusty: Today we are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss. If he were still alive, he would be ... um, well, older than Jan!
Micah: How old is Jan?
Merci: She's ... I'm not sure, but she's been around longer than any of us.
Cameron: Sam, we need to have a serious talk with you about your choice of hats for this annual celebration.
Sam: There's nothing wrong with my choice of hats for any occasion. *glare* I am always dressed for the proper occasion and this occasion is cold!
Cyndi: It's good to be back in color again. I felt so plain yesterday.

| Cyndi in black & white |
Micah: You were in color for Dr. Seuss Day, Cyndi. And now you're in black in white for Black & White Sunday.
Rusty: You're a pretty girl in any color - or lack of it, so just enjoy the extra attention this weekend.
Cyndi: Do I get paid extra? There's a cute outfit I'd like to buy.
Merci: Paid? Are you joking? Oh, of course you are. This is also Sunday Smile day.
Sam: Something had been chasing deer away and the culprit was caught on video.
Cameron: And wait till you see who was doing it.

Cyndi Lost Her Colors and Rusty
Stop! Hold the presses! We interrupt this pre-scheduled post with important breaking news!
Today is Rusty's 10th birthday.
How has this oversight happened? One guess. Yes, Jan never turned the page of the calendar to notice this important date. And now Rusty feels overlooked - again. Jan, you've got to either slow down or rent a memory.
Rusty, we apologize for being late and having to add you to this post. We really do love you.
Aw, after we posted this, Rusty received a card from our friends at Love Is Being Owned by a Husky. Thank you!
And now for our pre-scheduled post.
Cyndi: I'm a calico. What happened to my beautiful colors?
Buddy: Don't worry, Cyndi, you still have them. Jan helped us make this photo in sepia, which doesn't show colors.
Cyndi: Oh, well, you look the same in color or in sepia. I didn't realize I'd look so plain. When do I get my colors back?
Buddy: Monday, I guess. Tomorrow is Black & White Sunday,.
Cameron: Tomorrow is also Dr. Seuss Day, so you'll appear in living color again, Cyndi.
Cyndi: Okay, but if I don't, I get to paint my colors back into my picture, right?
Merci: Of course, Cyndi. *taps Cyndi's shoulder with comforting paw* I'm sure this must be traumatic for you. Why don't we go into the kitchen and ask Jan for a special treat to help you cope today.
Cyndi: Good idea. Maybe she'll tell me what she did with my colors.
