Solid Gold SeaMeal

Marcus:  Hey, Taylor, can I have some of whatever you're eating?

Taylor: Jan said we're not allowed to let you dogs have any of it because you have your own review to do this month.

Marcus:  But just a taste?

Taylor:  A taste with your tongue and the whole plate would be clean.  I wouldn't mind but Jan would.

Marcus:  It's Solid Gold SeaMeal and it's a nutritional supplement to support overall health of both dogs and cats,   You're a cat and you don't like it.  I'm a dog and I'm sure I'd love it.

Rusty:  I don't understand you, Taylor.  This is delicious.  In fact,  if I hurry, I might be able to steal yours.  It has dried seaweed meal and flaxseed as the first ingredients.  And Chewy says the key benefits are -

  •   Nutritional supplement to support overall wellness in dogs and cats that combines natural seaweed with flaxseed meal and digestive enzymes.
  •     Made with red, green, and brown seaweed that provides vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants.
  •     Contains flaxseed, an abundant source of omega-3 fatty acids to boost the immune system and promote optimal skin and coat health.
  •     Digestive enzymes help pets utilize their food more efficiently and helps pets suffering from chronic digestive upset, vomiting, or diarrhea.
  •     Easy to administer: just sprinkle on top of your pet's meal at each feeding.

Marcus:   The container is open. I can smell it and I want some.

Cyndi:  I think it tastes great.  Jan sprinkled some over each breakfast dish.  Taylor is the only one with a problem, although she did eat some after Jan smeared some of her breakfast on her paw.  (Taylor's paw, not Jan's.)

Micah:  It smells and tastes much like kelp.  We've all had kelp before.

Taylor: No, I haven't.  I wasn't too keen on it when Jan sprinkled it on the food, nor was I crazy about it when she sprinkled it on the plates before she divided up our breakfast.  I am getting accustomed to it, though, since Jan started mixing it into the food before she divvies it up.

Percy:  I hope we don't run out of the Solid Gold SeaMeal Supplement for a while.  I think it cheers up breakfast nicely and it's supposed to be good for us, so we're all happy, including Jan.  Unless you count Taylor, but she seems to have acquired a taste for it.

We received the supplement from Chewy to do this review but received no other compensation.  Chewy is not responsible for the content.

Tiki Cat Luau

Rusty:  Mmm mmm good, that's what a grain free luau is, mmm mmm good.

Taylor:  What's a luau?  Is that what Jan adds to our breakfast every day?

Rusty:  No, that's water.  A luau is the dance Jan does when she races from room to room with our plates.  Or is that the hula?

Micah:  We're supposed to be talking about our review.  We've been taste testing the Tiki Cat King Kamehameha Luau Variety Pack Canned Cat Food and have mixed results.

Cyndi:  This is the sardine.  Most of us enjoyed it but Taylor and Percy didn't.  They like sardines so Jan was surprised.

Percy:  I ate the mackerel and sardine.  Taylor only ate half of her portion, though.

Micah:  There are several flavors, which is why it's called a hula ... I mean, a luau.

Cyndi:  There is a can of Ahi tuna with crab in tuna consomm'e.  Also, Tuna in crab surimi  consomm'e.

Taylor:  What's crab surimi?  Is that a crabby crab?

Rusty:  I don't know.  Here, let's do a search.  Oh, evidently it's very common to substitute other fish for the more expensive crab.  In this instance, it's ocean whitefish in crab broth, and that is stated in the ingredients list.

Percy: We all loved the tuna and tuna mixes.

Taylor:  Yes, I do like tuna.

Rusty:  Jan doesn't like to feed us too much fish so she has been alternating these fish flavors with other wet food.

Micah:  This is the mackerel and sardine.  It smells pretty tasty to a cat.

Cyndi:  Chewy suggests the key benefits of this food are --

Don't let your kitty get bored with her food, give her a different recipe every day of the week!
Gluten, carbohydrate, starch and flour-free recipe for a biologically appropriate diet.
High in protein but low in carbs to keep your kitty cat fit.
Tiki Cat formulas contain whole human-grade shredded or sliced meats and seafood. Each formula is carefully prepared with a healthy broth to mimic the moisture of live prey.
    Zero glycemic index.

Rusty:  Uh, Percy, are you going to finish that?

Percy: Yes, I am.  Are you going sit and stare while I do?

Taylor:  Check out the Tiki Cat King Kamehameha Luau Variety Pack Canned Cat Food.  There are 12 2.8 ounce cans in a case.  The ingredient list for each flavor is listed under "Nutritional Info".

Cyndi:  I guess we give it this food a four out of five paw review since

Canine Thanksgiving Dinner

Marcus:  Uh, Jan, I'm glad I get to eat in my Private Dining Car again, but you forgot to top my breakfast with the food we're reviewing.

Jan:  I did not forget!  I told you to Sit and Wait.  You grabbed your share off the top of your breakfast, sat down while you swallowed it, and now you're playing innocent.  It won't work!

Marcus:  But I am innocent.  I distinctly heard you say to Hit the Plate, so I did.

Jan:  Do you need your ears cleaned?

Marcus:  No, I just need some of the Merrick grain free Thanksgiving Dinner in my bowl for the taste test.

Buddy:  But you've already tasted it.  Look at those pieces of deboned turkey, sweet potato, carrots, green beans, granny smith apples, peas ...  (A full list of ingredients can be found at Chewy.com.)

Merci:  It comes in two sizes.  We have the 3.2oz size.  There is also a 13.2 oz. case.  It sure does look tasty.  And it smells good too.

Buddy:  You want me to WHAT?  To cover myself since I'm unsuitably dressed for public dining?

Merci:  Just because Jan covered you with a star, Buddy, does not make you the star of this post!

Buddy:  Stop griping and dig in.

Marcus:  Jan, you dressed Buddy with a star.  Won't you dress my breakfast with another spoonful?  Or three?

Merci:  Ignore Marcus.  He's not starving.  We all loved the Merrick Thanksgiving Dinner

Feline Thanksgiving Dinner

Rusty:  Hey, what is this?

Percy:  It's the Merrick Grain Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner we're going to review today.

Cyndi:  I think Jan is hoping we don't like it.

Taylor:  Why?

Cyndi:  Evidently the cans are hard to open.  They're pop top but the top doesn't pop easily.

Taylor:  Do you suppose it's because she's old?

Cyndi:  She claims it's because the cans don't want to part with the contents.

Rusty:  That's possible.  This Thanksgiving Dinner is good.  I wouldn't want to part with it either.

Percy:  You do know cans don't get attached to their content, don't you?

Micah:  Did anyone check out what's in it?

Rusty:  Yes, I did.  It has deboned turkey, turkey broth, deboned duck, chicken liver, peas, dried egg product, natural flavor, dried potato, sweet potato, carrots, cranberries, organic alfalfa -  A complete list of vitamins and minor ingredients can be found on Chewy's Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain-Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner Minced in Gravy Canned Cat Food page.

According to Chewy, the key benefits are -

    Grain-free recipe.
    Added vitamins and minerals.
No artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
    Great for all life stages.

Both the 3 oz cans and the 5.5 oz cans are on sale at Chewy's now.

Taylor:  Why does it have vegetables in it?  Are we vegetarians?

Cyndi:  I'm not!  Humans are always telling children to eat their vegetables.  Maybe they think we're kids.

Percy:  This tastes pretty good.  Just don't tell Jan we're all eating our vegetables.

Micah:  Yeah, she'll freak out.

Percy:  There are lots of little chunks in gravy.  Jan doesn't mind us eating this gravy because it just has a little gravy, not gravy as half the can contents.  Do we have any of this  Merrick Purrfect Bistro Grain-Free Thanksgiving Day Dinner Minced in Gravy Canned Cat Food left for Thanksgiving day?

Rusty:  Yes, Jan said she is saving some for us so we can have a turkey dinner too.

Cyndi:  Let's ask Jan for seconds on Thursday so she can have extra fun popping the stubborn tops.

Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings

Rusty:  Hey, Jan, you gave me an empty dish.  Aren't you going to feed me?

Jan:  I already fed you.

Rusty:  But my dish is empty.  Aren't you going to fill it up again?

Jan:  No!

Rusty:  Well, how am I going to write a review if I don't have any food in my dish to review?

Jan:  You'll think of something.

Micah:  I'm not having a problem.  My dish is not empty

Taylor:  Mine either.  Jan always tries to keep us hydrated and adds water to our canned food.

Micah  See, Rusty, you did have food.  What did Jan say it is?  I forget.

Rusty:  It's the Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings cat food.  There are six flavors and they come in a case of six 2.5 oz cups.   We tried salmon and goat milk savory mouse... I mean, mousse.  An unusual combination but it's quite tasty. Chewy lists its key benefits as -

Holistic wet recipe for all life stages.
Unique flavor combo of real salmon and goat milk.
Picky cats will love the light mousse texture.
    Free of grains and glutens.
Essential nutrients are easier to digest.

Percy: This was really good the first time I tried it but after that I'd just eat a couple of bites and leave the rest.

Rusty:  That's okay.  We've shared your leftovers.

Cyndi:  I don't know what Percy's problem is.  Four out of five of us enjoyed the Solid Gold Purrfect Pairings..

We received this cat food from Chewy in exchange for our honest review.  We received no other compensation and Chewy is not responsible for the content of this post.

Zuke's Mobility

Marcus:  Hello, this is Marcus the Younger here to tell you about today's dog product review.  As you know, I'm healthy and spry but I live with two older dogs that complain of aches and pains and creaky bones.

What's that, Buddy?  Oh, I'm sorry.  Their bones don't creak; their joints do.

Fall weather has arrived and that means cooler temperatures at night, so this is a good time to review a creaky product.  I mean a product for creaky dogs.

Jan said they're not meant for me, but they're intended for mature or senior dogs.  What's she talking about?  I'm mature.  I am too mature, Merci!  I am not almost three going on six months!

Zuke's Mobility are grain-free chews that offer daily support for healthy hips and joints.  We have the peanut butter formula, which is great because we all love peanut butter.  There is also a chicken formula.  We would probably like that one too.  Which formula do you think you would prefer?

According to Chewy, the key benefits are:

   * Grain-free, functional treats that are designed to support hip and joint health and are perfect for senior dogs and large breed dogs that may have trouble with stairs, getting up, sore after exercise, or just simply slowing down with age.

*Loaded with natural, healthy ingredients such as calcium lactate, glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric, MSM, EPA, and DHA.

* Formulated for bone strength, to help rebuild and repair tissue and cartilage, reduce pain, and reduce inflammation.

*Tasty treat makes providing your pup with hip and joint support easy and enjoyable.

*High-quality, fresh, healthy chew that's made in small batches here in the USA.

I thought you said these aren't intended for me, Jan.  Are you teasing me?   I can have one and only one?  Thank you.  I'll just take that before you change your mind.

Buddy:  I was napping in Marcus's crate and you woke me up to give me a treat, Jan.  Now you're complaining I ate it before you had a chance to take a picture?  Would you like me to open my mouth so you can get a picture of where the treat went?

Merci:  Oh, thank you, Jan.  For once I don't have to get up to get a treat.  Could you pick it up and put it in my mouth so I don't have to move?  No, no, just kidding.  I have it.

Marcus:  I think those two are trying to take over as house clown.  We all tried the Zuke's Mobility treats and really liked them.

Be sure to follow the cautions on the package.  These are not intended for pregnant or breeding dogs. Give to a dog according to the dog's weight with or after a meal.

We received the bag of dog treats from Chewy for this review.  We received no other compensation.  Any ideas expressed are our own.

Natural Balance LID

Taylor:  Hey, Rusty,  Jan just pushed this box in the spot where I was sleeping.  Help me shove it to the floor so I can finish my nap.

Rusty:  I don't think you want to shove those cans to the floor.  We're supposed to taste test the contents.

Taylor:  Oh, good.  What is it?

Rusty:  Let's see.  It's Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance LID, or Limited Ingredient Diets, canned cat food..  There are six formulas.  We received the chicken & green pea formula in 3 ounce cans.

Taylor:  You mean there are only two ingredients?

Rusty:  No.  It has chicken, chicken broth, chicken liver, ground peas, pea protein, chicken meal, natural flavor and numerous vitamins and minerals.  Click on the above Natural Balance link for a complete list of ingredients.  I guess it does have only two main ingredients.

Taylor:  I see Chewy lists the key benefits as:

    Grain-free recipe.
Single source animal protein & limited carbohydrate sources.
High-quality nutrition for skin & coat health.
    Contains nutrients, vitamins & minerals.
    No artificial flavors or colors.
Complete & balanced for all life stages.

Rusty:  Let's try some.

Micah:  Tastes good to me.

Cyndi:  Jan always adds water to canned food to help us drink more.  She added just the right amount  today.

Taylor:  What's the problem, Rusty?  You're not eating.

Rusty:  Jan knows I like my wet food served with a sprinkle of crunchies on top.  Hey, Jan, where are my crunchies!

Percy:  It's about time I get my share. I'm always served last any more.  Just because I want to dine on the desk doesn't mean my breakfast should be served late!

Taylor:  We are all enjoying the Natural Balance LID cat food.  Rusty and Percy prefer theirs served with a sprinkle of crunchies on top, but the rest of us eat it naked.

Micah:  Are you referring to us or to the food when you use the word "naked"?

Cyndi:  I think Taylor is referring to the food.  Are we supposed to say "naked" in a food review?

Percy:  Probably not, but I doubt Jan would put a hat on it before serving.
