Serious Thinking

We've been doing some serious thinking. We hope Jan is going to be around for a long time, but what will we do if she isn't? The bills will still come due. The funeral home will want a big deposit. Who will pay all the funeral expenses? More importantly, how will we pay for our food while we grieve? We do eat a lot, you know!

So we looked into life insurance for Jan and found a company online called BurialInsurance.org.

We're kind of new to this insurance thing, so we were intrigued by the types of insurance they sell: Funeral Insurance, Senior Life Insurance, Affordable Life Insurance, No Medical Exam Life Insurance, and Burial Insurance for Seniors.

We have a couple of questions for them. 1) Does Affordable Life Insurance mean we furries can insure Jan for whatever pocket change she drops on the floor and can't bend over to reach each month? 2) Why isn't there a category for Jan - insurance for the Forgetful and Creaky?

We checked on burial insurance by state and found in Georgia we could insure Jan even if she's 90 years old. We think she passed that age at least 240 years ago, but maybe they could make an exception.

Hawaii Five-O

I love to watch television. Unfortunately some nights there are two or more programs that I enjoy that show at the same time. Monday nights are a prime example. I love to watch Castle and Hawaii Five-O. Fortunately, I have satellite television from Hawaii Five-O because it's a great action show. And who doesn't enjoy watching all that beautiful Hawaiian scenery? I've never been to the islands, myself, but I often feel as if I have just from watching this entertaining program. And it is a great remake of the old show from the sixties or seventies. The characters have the same names but they have slightly different characteristics. All of them are fun to watch--especially Alex O'Loughlin, who plays Steve McGarrett. He is a real hunky guy with a killer smile. I was amazed to learn recently that he is Australian. He does a fantastic job of sounding American.

Cesar Millan And The Demon Dog

If you have not yet watched the Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic channel you don't know what you are missing. I like to watch this program on Satellite TV Channels because we can't get it on cable. We found this program one evening when we were looking for something different to watch. Once we started watching, we understood that we could throw out everything we ever thought we knew about dogs.

We had a little chihuahua that thought she owned the house and everyone in it. She especially thought that I was her possession and nobody else could get close. This was awkward whenever somebody came to visit. We could not even hug or shake hands without her trying to bite their hands off.

After we started watching the Dog Whisperer we learned so much from the techniques that he used with dogs that behaved pretty much the same way she was acting. I remember the episode about the demon dog. This little chihuahua was doing the same thing that our Susie was doing. We didn't leave the room while this episode aired.

After watching this one we used the same techniques Cesar did and soon had her acting like a regular dog. She no longer tries to bite friends and family and actually acts like she likes them.
