Okey, Abby and FPCA

We would like to introduce you to Okey's Promise Art. We believe the premise that helping animals is helping children. Watch the video to learn how.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Tabby Normal is having a Flat Cat Winter Photo Contest. Be sure to go by and enter.

Our neighbors in Pike County, Georgia have no animal control and no shelter. Friends of Pike County Animals (FPCA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization (currenlty seeking 501 (c) 3 status) We hope you can spare a minute - daily until January 31 - to vote for FPCA for the Pepsi $50,000 grant.

You can vote for them at Create an animal adoption & education center in rural Pike County, GA.

Or you can go to the FPCA website and click on the vote widget.

And please pass this on and ask your friends to vote. We all know how important it is that any community's animals have an advocate..

They are currently 155th.  They need a lot of votes to move up and win.

Me and Charlie have so "drank" our pepsi and voted!!! Yay!! We will do so daily!!

And thanks for this really nice clip of Okey's promise!! I think in a lot of domestic abuse cases it's easy to overlook that if the family has animals that the animals suffer too at the hands of the abuser.

Pets are so important for and to children!

Take care

It is clear that many if not most child/vulnerable adult abusers started by abusing pets. You can google "animal abuse leads to child abuse" to see many articles on the subject.

Identifying and providing therapy to children who abuse pets would likely prevent a lifetime of crueler pet abuse and child/aged adult/female abuse...

A rational society would do that.

Oops, soory, I should have said that was me, The Bing Thing writing the above...
