We haven't posted since Christmas Eve but we've been visiting and trying to relax a bit. Jan still has the respiratory crud and is running out of energy already today. We hope all of you who celebrate it had a lovely Christmas.
Earlier this month two deer were rescued by local residents from off the frozen Mississippi. We thought we would share this with you. You can imagine that after spending two days stranded on the ice, they were mighty happy to be rescued.
Well, we had the video posted but we found it horribly annoying that it auto played every time one comes to this blog and since this is our home page ... We couldn't turn it off so we just deleted the video. However you can still view it here.
Bebe from Pumpkin's blog had a tumor on his liver and although he lived longer than the vet thought, he was helped to the bridge this morning.
And Cathy, the kitty of the boyfriend of Piggy & Grover's mom, was snowed in when she got sick. She was finally able to get to a vet but she had some type of fast growing bacterial infection and she didn't make it.
We send purrs and tail wags to both families, who are missing their furries.
UPDATE: We just learned Vinny from Whisker Messages from a Church Cat had to be helped to the bridge today. We are sad for their family too.

This a very sad weeek with all the sick kitties and those that went to the bridge. We will be purring and praing that everyone stays healthy in 2011 including you Jan. Sending you hugs to get well.

Oh we are so so sorry to read that so many furry friends had to go to the bridge. We hadn't met them but send lots of purrs and prayers to all their families.
Thanks for the good wishes. The seizure monster is so sneaky that I can't always see him coming. But I feel fine otherwise.

We are however so gladdened by the news report! We are so relieved that local people care enough to help both these beautiful deers when the authorities gave up. We are so touched by the humanity that this community showed here! Yay for the deer!

That deer rescue was just amazing.
We visited all of them from the CB site. It was a sad day. We think more kitties leave for The Bridge in December than anny other month.
